12 11. Initiating The Plan Of Escape

A couple of years ago, while she was sent on a mission to find the infinity stones by Thanos, Gamora came across a map of one of the infinity stones.

That particular stone had the ability to manipulate and control souls, life forces, and spirits... It was

The Soul Stone.

She knew what Thanos wanted to achieve after he gets all the infinity stones. After obtaining that map, she contemplated deeply and came to the conclusion that he should never ever get his hands on this knowledge. So, she burned that map and vowed to take the secret to her grave.

She hadn't even told this secret to Nebula, the only person left in her life that she could relate to and find a bond with. Though, the 'bond' was a bit twisted and didn't go well on both ends.

But still...

'How the fuck did he know!' Gamora gritted her teeth.

"I know what you're thinking... I have my ways." Jerry gave her a bitter smile. "And rest assured, I haven't told anyone about it."

"Thanos isn't worthy of possessing the powers of the infinity stones. I need to find someone who is able to wield them and is able to bring good into the universe, someone... who isn't just a Mad Man." Jerry added some bullshit to make his story and reasons more believable.

"Alas, sooner or later, this information will reach him, just as it reached me. Therefore, we must escape from Thanos."

"As the sole person who knows about it, you mustn't be near Thanos. And as the person who knows about the PERSON who knows about IT, even I cannot be near him."

Jerry sighed and paused, letting Gamora take in all the information, weigh her options, and choose.

Gamora exhaled, her brows were tensed...

She was contemplating everything, from the start to the finish. And she came to the conclusion, that she should trust this noseless old man in front of her.

After all, if he was still the fanatic sucker of Thanos, he wouldn't be here offering her a way to escape, instead, he would've snitched on her to Thanos the moment he got the news of her betrayal.

And she knew that she had to make her decision now and here. Besides, she was already planning to make an escape from the clutches of Thanos for a long time. It was just that she could never have a chance or the resources for her wish.

So, there was nothing wrong in accepting his help right?

That's why, she nodded.

"I've decided to trust you on your words, Ebony Maw. But know this, if you're onto something, I'd rather kill myself before ever disclosing the stone's location." She warned, flaring her nostrils, which looked a bit funny to Jerry, though he suppressed his chuckle.

"And once we escape him, we would go our separate ways, never seeing each other's faces again."

She still didn't like Ebony Maw, the one who so happily recited those twisted speeches of Thanos's glory.

However, the image of him in her mind had changed a bit. Now, he wasn't the fanatic who worshipped Thanos but a person who wanted to save the universe in the most efficient way.

His efficient method till now was genocide... Well, at least he was going to be somewhat better than Thanos. And on the topic of Thanos getting the infinity stones, they were on the same page.

What he was and not, didn't matter. After all, she was just going to use him to get away from Thanos.

Jerry gave a small smile, "Your terms are acceptable."

Gamora exhaled and crossed her arms under her breasts, "So, do you have a plan in mind?"

Jerry nodded, "I do. And you will know when it begins. Until then we should act as we normally do."

The green woman snorted and rolled her eyes, "Yeah, right."

She stood up and walked to leave the chamber, Jerry's gaze again noticed how the lady swayed her wide ass as she left.

And so, Jerry ended up gaining an 'ally'.

.

For the next several weeks, Jerry utilized everything in his arsenal to get information about all the technological means to create or transfer his consciousness to another body.

He also used illegal and anonymous means to buy parts of the ship that he'd be building in the near future.

The new ship would be laced with all sorts of cutting-edge stealth technologies and destructive weaponry. He'd build two of them one for himself and the other for Gamora. Obviously, there won't be any method to track them.

In due time, he got the required information about creating new bodies, there were many in fact. However, the most advanced technology was possessed by the High Evolutionary.

Yeah, the one who basically ended up giving Rocket Racoon one of the most advanced minds in the universe and the creator of the Sovereigns, Adam Warlock, along with other intergalactic ethnicities.

Unfortunately, Jerry got no success in finding a technology that could transfer his consciousness and SOUL to a new body.

The closest he could get was a tech that could upload and preserve his consciousness as an AI model, which could be then downloaded into an artificial body.

There was another interesting piece of tech that was extremely close to his desired technology, it could transfer one's memories into another's brain.

However, the outcome of that machine was bizarre, an amalgam of both personalities.

In an experiment, they cleared up the memories of one of the individuals and then copied the memories of the second person to him.

It resulted in the first individual gaining all the personality traits and memories of the second person. For days, he thought that he was the second individual. He didn't even realize that he was the fake one until he got shown a mirror.

The shock was so great that his mind broke!

That was a really creepy experiment and left Jerry in an existential crisis for a short duration, but he grew out of it. After all, Jerry was sure that he was special, he was transmigrated along with his soul... the proof of that was that he knew the past and even the future plots.

Though, it made him wonder why Maw's memories had no effect on his personality. But he chalked it up to the mysterious power that transmigrated him in his body in the first place.

That's why Jerry decided to take the body-creating technology from the High Evolutionary and then head to Earth to find a way to transfer his consciousness along with his soul into the new body. If his luck was good and X-Men existed then could try to get the technology used by Apocalypse or even ask the Ancient One for help. There were many ways.

However, High Evolutionary's machine wasn't something that Jerry could obtain by just ordering it out on this ship. High Evolutionary wouldn't give it so easily, it was the same machine, the cocoon, that created Adam Warlock after all.

From the info he got, the Cocoon had successfully passed its final phase of development and soon High Evolutionary would give it to the Sovereigns who would use it to create Adam Warlock from it.

'To get that machine, I'll have to use force.'

There was nothing more the information brokers could provide him with, and he already acquired his means of escape from Thanos.

It was time he finally began his plan of escape.

Honestly, three months here was a long time but he doesn't think he's gonna miss this place too much.

The most taxing phase of his plan was the first one, he needs to convince Thanos to send him the High Evolutionary to threaten him.

Hence, the present moment saw Jerry striding resolutely towards the Throne room— a nexus of destiny where the intricate choreography of strategy and tension was poised to culminate in an exchange imbued with profound significance.
