19 19: Nick Fury

The metallic door slowly opened and allowed Austin to see the view Inside the room.

a bald African American man could be seen sitting on an office chair, he wore an all-black outfit with a leather jacket, the bald man had an eye patch on his left eye.

this was Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Phil and Austin walked toward Nick Fury before standing a few meters before him.

"sit," nick Fury said while motioning towards the two seats in his office.

Phil and Austin took their seats calmly and waited for Nick to speak.

"Hello Mr. malik, my agent told me a lot about you," Nick Fury said, with a wave of his hand a couple of attendants appeared in the room and placed snacks and drinks all along the table.

"I'm sure he did" Austin replied calmly while he gazed at Nick Fury.

he had no intention of joining the shield, but if they had benefits he wouldn't mind helping them with some miscellaneous things.

"Mr. Malik, I assume you already know who I am so tell me more bout yourself, nick Fury glanced at Austin's mask and said with a smile.

"I don't like beating around the bush, just get to the point," Austin said immediately.

"hmm, that makes my job easier then, look at this" nick Fury said before sliding a sheet of paper toward Austin.

"This is a contract I want to propose to you, look over it and tell me what you think," nick said while folding his arms, his eyes gazing into the hollow eyes of Austin's mask as if he was looking to imagine his expression through his eyes.

Austin didn't bother using his hands, with his mana he lifted the paper into the air and brought it closer to his eyes before reading it.

this action caused a look of surprise to appear in Nick's eyes, even Phil who was slightly used to Austin's strange abilities was still surprised witnessing it again.

Austin read the contract in deep thought, the contract wasn't that bad it was a mutual agreement type of contract, but the thing was it has too many restrictions.

for example, Austin would get paid lots of money, have access to the facilities, and get many social benefits, but he would have to help S.H.I.E.L.D. whenever Nick wanted, which wasn't what Austin wanted to do.

Although he might seem arrogant right now, Austin didn't care, with his strength why would he allow other people to control what he could and couldn't do?

wouldn't that make this new life no different from his last life?

that wasn't what he wanted.

"the terms of this contract seem good, but..." Austin purposely stopped speaking after the last word.

Nick Fury raised his eyebrow before looking at Austin in confusion.

"But?"

"but it has too many restrictions, for example, your making me an asset to this place which I don't like, I can help you whenever you want, but only if it's things y'all can't deal with, as for miscellaneous things that your agents can handle, there is no reason to add me into that mix," Austin said while looking into Nick fury's eyes.

Nick Fury turned to Phil Coulson for a second before leaning back in his chair.

"That's understandable, but if I go with that then I feel like I'll be losing out," nick Fury said as he sat back up, it seemed like he underestimated Austin's abilities and didn't think too highly of him even though Austin had superpowers.

"you just don't understand the extent of my power," Austin said as his mana surrounded the whole room, coupled with his pressure it was so strong that both Nick and Phil couldn't move.

Phil broke out in a sweat for a couple of seconds until the Aura disappeared.

" if that was all, then I will be leaving, don't see me out," Austin said and stood up getting ready to leave, of course, this was all an act.

Even though shield had the avengers, that was different, nick Fury was playing Austin like a child by pulling out this loud S.H.I.E.L.D. Contract.

that was basically like saying Austin's strength wasn't even comparable to spiderman, which Austin couldn't accept.

so he only decided to show off a little.

"WAIT" Nick Fury sat up while trying to stabilize his breathing, he looked at Austin before saying.

"how strong... are you?"

"I'm strong enough," Austin said before he prepared to leave again.

"wait, how about this, I will talk to Tony stark and the rest of the avengers about you, it will be up to them if they accept you," Nick Fury said while wiping away the sweat from his bald head.

"That sounds better," Austin said with a smile and took his seat before leisurely grabbing a snack off the table.

Phil Coulson watched all of this in confusion, what the fuck was going on?

To think Nick Fury would bring out the name of the avengers just to get this young man to stay, was uncalled for.

"oh, can I request something from you, nick since you know we are technically friends now," Austin said with a mischievous smile behind his warding mask.

"what is it" Although Nick Fury was confused and felt like beating up Austin for being so shameless, he couldn't do anything.

Even so, Having such a strong ally was a very good thing in the long run, he would try his best to satisfy "the gamer" and become closer to him.

"It's nothing much, I just need money, a lot of it, as much as you can give me," Austin said while putting a cookie under his mask to take a bite from it.

"money?" Nick Fury raised his eyebrow, he was expecting Austin to ask for some impossible requests, but this didn't seem too bad.

"that can be done, I will have an agent wire some money to you through a bank account connected with us," Nick Fury said with a smile.

After talking a bit more with Nick Fury, Austin, and Phil Coulson left the office.

Nick Fury had promised to communicate with the avengers about him and then have someone communicate with him after the negotiations.

Phil and his attendant drove Austin back to where they had previously picked him up before bidding him farewell.
