12 12: The date

Malik started up the car before driving out of the parking lot, while inside the car Cynthia seemed to become more comfortable with Austin and continued to talk to him.

"look at them, Cynthia barely talks to any other guy like this" mya whispered to Malik who was trying his best to concentrate on the road.

"what do you expect, I taught him all of my techniques" Malik replied with a smirk while his eyes stayed glued to the road.

"yea right, how come I wasn't like that when we first met?" mya pouted and rolled her eyes, this guy had a big ego.

Austin could hear their conversation, due to the increase in his physical ability, his 5 senses were also beyond the level of ordinary humans.

"Cynthia, you don't seem to be from around here, where are you from," he asked while turning to the beautiful girl beside him.

"ah, I'm actually from Tokyo Japan, I have only been in America for 6 or so years, did my accent come out," Cynthia said with a smile.

"it did, your accent is very nice to listen to" Austin replied, causing Cynthia to blush and become quiet for a while.

"thank you" she replied after a few seconds.

"all right we are here," Malik said as he parked his car, they were currently at Lilia, a romantic restaurant situated in Brooklyn New York.

If it was before, Austin wouldn't have dared to come here to spend money, but he had a good source of income now so he could afford the date with Cynthia.

the couple got out of the car and walked towards the restaurant.

"Hello, come in" a middle-aged attendant opened the door for them before they made their way into the restaurant.

While entering the restaurant, the first thing Austin noticed was the large shelf of drinks behind the cashier, it was a well-lit room and had many chairs placed around.

The decorated lights on the roof seemed to light up the whole area, giving it a fancy look.

"Welcome to Lilia, the Italian restaurant, how may I help you?" an attendant said after they entered the restaurant.

"2 tables for 2 please," Malik said.

After getting their tables the couples headed towards their seats, they were right next to each other but both sat at different tables.

After a while a waiter came, asking if they wanted any drinks, which they all accepted and then ordered what they wanted.

Austin knew nothing about Italian foods, so he ordered what caught his eye the most, which was the rigatoni Diavola.

While waiting for their food the waiter gave them some cocktails and snacks to start, which was the garlic focaccia which came with green garlic butter.

"how are you liking the snacks," Austin said while eating some of the snacks.

"not bad, I never had Italian food but it's better than I expected," Cynthia said with a smile, she seemed to be enjoying the focaccia.

"me either, I guess it's better to try new things" Austin replied while looking into her eyes.

"then you should try the food I cook, I'm sure you will like it," Cynthia said, not sure of what she had even said.

"That's a promise then" Austin replied.

Austin looked over at Malik and mya who seemed to be talking about all sorts of topics, forgetting that there were even snacks in front of them.

"your food is here" the waiter came back while holding a plate of food which he placed in front of Cynthia and then went back to the kitchen to grab Austin's plate.

"thank you"

While eating, Austin and Cynthia continued to talk a lot more, not only was she very beautiful, but she was also intelligent and had a great personality which was usually hard to find in most girls.

Austin decided to try his luck with her, Although his world was dangerous, that didn't mean he would stay lonely while trying to become as strong as possible just to die once again a virgin who never even held a girl's hand.

"did you guys hear about the news?" Malik said while looking towards Austin and Cynthia, their tables weren't too far apart so they could communicate if they wanted.

"I did, even my whole family was shocked" Cynthia's eyes lit up at the mention of the news which was heard on television earlier

"with the appearance of superheroes it also means there will be more monsters and villains," mya said with a frown, she supported the heroes but she just hoped she wouldn't one day be an unlucky victim in one of their battles.

"That's true, but we have heroes like iron man and spiderman to keep the world safe" Cynthia replied.

"Austin what do you think about the news?" Malik asked him.

"I don't know, what Cynthia said is facts though" Austin spoke his mind truthfully.

"very well said," Malik said with a laugh, he thought Austin was just bullshitting his way to look good in Cynthia's books.

The hours slowly went by as they ate and communicated, at the end of the date Austin managed to get Cynthia's number and all her social media in case he wanted to contact her, which she decided to give him.

The waiter brought the check over after their table was cleaned.

As men, both Malik and Austin had to pay for the costs.

While Austin was about to look at how much he needed to pay, his home lit up and he saw it was a text from "best buddy Malik".

Austin turned his head to look at Malik, why was this idiot texting him when he was right here?

'look at your phone' Malik mouthed with his lips, the two girls were talking and didn't seem to notice his actions.

Austin looked at the message which read "do you need me to pay for your check secretly? I know you are broke" with a laughing emoji at the end.

"fuck off, I can pay for it myself" Austin replied and ended it with a raised eyebrow emoji.

The bill only amounted to slightly over 200 dollars, which Austin immediately paid while hiding the pain in his eyes.
