106 Chapter 106: The Vampire Hunter Appears!

"So, what's going on?" Peter asked Gwen, looking at the crowd of people who seemed to be journalists and cameramen in the middle of Midtown High School.

"Hunter Kevin is promoting at our school. Betty told me about it yesterday," Gwen replied, feeling annoyed.

She had been planning to confront him, but she hadn't expected him to show up on his own, let alone provoke them at their own school.

"Have any of you watched the TV show 'Hunter Kevin'?" the female host asked the students gathered on the field.

"I have!"

"It's a great show!"

Many students raised their hands enthusiastically, creating a lively atmosphere.

Peter looked around at the excited students and asked Gwen, "Did the school agree to this?"

"Of course, otherwise they wouldn't have allowed their team to come over," Gwen said grumpily. "I guess he's feeling threatened by the popularity of the vampire princess, so he's trying to expand his influence. By the way, Peter, have you read the coverage on the vampire princess?"

Thinking about the captivating article she had read in the newspaper, Gwen had to admit it was intriguing. A vampire from another realm, with such a character, would certainly drive fanatics crazy, especially with her unmatched figure and charm.

"Thank you for your support," the host's words interrupted Gwen's thoughts. "Once Kraven arrives, filming for today will begin. You can continue chatting and laughing, but please refrain from applause or deliberately making other noises. Keep it casual."

She stood on the makeshift stage and addressed the students around her. "The filming technique we're using here is called 'coverage,' meaning there's no sound, only Kraven's figure."

Listening to the host, Gwen sighed and muttered, "Well, he's probably here because of the incident with the Spider-Man Frank. Our school has become a tourist attraction."

The woman on stage continued, "So, please don't approach Kraven unless he speaks to you first, and he won't be signing autographs today."

Upon hearing that he wouldn't be signing autographs, the crowd below immediately voiced their discontent.

But the woman quickly added, "Stay calm, we'll be handing out hats and T-shirts as souvenirs."

"I'm not interested in either autographs or souvenirs," Gwen muttered, preparing to leave.

Amidst the crowd's hustle and bustle, Kraven finally arrived at the scene.

Dressed in a blue and black jacket, with stubble on his face, Kraven quickly attracted everyone's attention.

Once the crowd quieted down, the female host began organizing the surrounding team's work.

However, reporters crowded around, eager to interview him.

"Mr. Kraven, how did the monster hunt on Bear Mountain go?"

"With the recent emergence of the vampire princess, do you think her popularity has surpassed yours?"

"What are your thoughts on Spider-Man and Spider-Woman? Many believe they stand for justice, yet you seem prepared to engage in conflict with them. Shouldn't their affairs be left to the police rather than engaging in this cat-and-mouse game?"

At the last question, Kraven's expression soured.

He turned his gaze to the reporter who asked the question. "A game? Well, it's certainly an entertaining hunt, purely for the amusement of the public."

"All right, please leave now. We're about to start normal filming," he said, pushing through the crowd towards his team.

As he passed by Peter and Gwen, he paused, casting a glance at them.

Gwen blew a strand of blonde hair out of her face.

"Let's go, Peter. I don't want to see that guy pretending," Gwen said, wanting to pull Peter away.

"Don't you want to take him down here?" Peter, not very interested in the guy, asked Gwen, recalling her saying she wanted to hang him from a bridge.

"Yeah," Gwen replied, hands in her pockets, looking relaxed. "I did say that, but not now. Right now, I'm more interested in vampires and such, especially that one called the vampire princess."

"As for now..."

Gwen turned around, stopping in her tracks. "Wanna grab some Taco Bell?"

"Are you hungry already?" Peter checked his phone. "It's only four in the afternoon."

He was starting to wonder if Gwen was really a rabbit reincarnated, given how quickly she got hungry.

"You don't know what I've been through this morning," Gwen complained. "I ran into a group of oddly dressed guys robbing at Times Square, two men and a woman. They even had stun guns and ran really fast."

"Did you catch them?" Peter asked curiously.

"Of course," Gwen said proudly. "After the robbed vendor cursed them with cancer, I rushed to the scene."

"That's a vicious curse."

Ignoring Peter's sarcasm, Gwen continued, "They had all sorts of equipment, and they couldn't even dress alike."

She quickly added, "I'm not saying they had to wear spandex, of course, not everyone can pull that off. And from their physique, spandex wouldn't suit them anyway."

Gwen seemed rather pleased with herself when she said this.

Well, only she and Peter looked good in spandex.

"Cough cough."

Realizing she had been talking nonstop while Peter listened, Gwen felt she had been talking too much, so she coughed and changed the subject. "Peter, can you tell me about vampires? I want to learn more."

"Sure."

Meanwhile.

Watching Peter and Gwen walk away, Kraven furrowed his brows.

As a natural-born hunter who had hunted countless animals and even some dark creatures, he always possessed a innate sense of danger towards those perilous prey.

In these two students, he sensed a strong sense of danger, especially in the male high school student. Although he didn't know why these two high school students gave him such a feeling. Was it just his imagination?

Staring at Peter's back, his expression became uneasy.

"Bang!"

A wall was hit, producing a dull sound.

Deep Red Bar.

Harriet's chest was heavily struck. His heart was punched, and the air in his lungs seemed to be sucked out all at once. He wanted to bend over and catch his breath, but he couldn't, so he could only cough violently.

It was as if an angry ferret was hidden in his chest, and he was trying desperately to drive it out.

"Are you awake?"

Opposite him, the guy with black gloves asked in a cold tone, grabbing his clothes, his face full of murderous intent. Even the sunglasses couldn't conceal his killing intent.

This guy in leather jacket, carrying a silver sword, made him shiver at a glance.

As a member of the vampire clan, he usually hid in this bar, only going out at night. Although he was somewhat well-informed, he was just a small player. He never would have thought that he would be targeted by such a legendary vampire hunter.

"In a sense—" The black man in leather slowly said, looking at him.

At this point, Harriet didn't have enough air to support himself speaking. As he listened to the other person speak, he gasped heavily, trying to fill his lungs with air again.

"Striking someone's heart is an excellent move," the black man with sunglasses continued. "Especially when your target isn't trained. There are plenty of nerves here. Warriors pay a lot of attention to strengthening this area, they train the muscles here like armor. But for amateurs, the heart is the most effective target."

"Bang!"

His fist hit Harriet's heart again.

"It's the same for vampires! Tell me, what is Victor planning? Why have all the vampires in New York mobilized? What are you plotting? Tell me!"

The last sentence was squeezed out of his mouth, and then he grabbed the guy's body and slammed it against the wall.

"Bang!"

Harriet's body fell to the ground, full of debris, and his spine felt like it was about to break.

"I don't know!"

Harriet exclaimed in terror, "Victor is dead!"

Victor was the head of the vampires in New York, and also a member of the Vampire Elder Council.

"Impossible!"

The vampire hunter's expression turned ugly. "He's not some small fry."

As he said this, his arm turned into a blade and chopped at Harriet's neck.

With blood spurting from his mouth, Harriet's face turned bright red, and his eyeballs seemed to be sucked into his brain or popped out of his sockets.

"You cold-blooded creatures, it seems you're not afraid of death."

The vampire hunter grabbed him, pulled out the silver sword from his back, and plunged it into his shoulder.

Blood gushed out, and Harriet trembled in pain.

"I-I'm telling the truth. Victor is dead. There's a new faction of vampires in New York. Both humans and vampires are on their hunting list! "

Harriet stuttered, telling the hunter what he knew.

"Does the Elder Council know?"

"I don't know, but now all the vampires are on edge, and even dare not go out at night."

After hearing this, the vampire hunter fell silent for a moment, then pulled the silver sword out of Harriet's shoulder.

The so-called Elder Council was the supreme authority of the vampire underground.

Harriet, wounded by silver, was in great pain, his face contorted in agony.

"Is that vampire princess part of the new vampire faction?"

"I-I don't know."

"Swish!"

The silver sword was pulled out and stuck in his own back by the vampire hunter.

Taking off his sunglasses, he put them on Harriet's eyes.

"Then I hope you're lucky enough to survive."

With that, he turned and walked away.

With the sunglasses on, Harriet emitted a silver light all over his body, screaming in pain.

The next moment, the light pierced through his body from within, piercing his body.
