Max slowly slips his hand under her tshirt and she does the same. They both run their fingers over each other's abs and Max slowly lifts Carol's tshirt up.

She cooperates and allows him to take off her tshirt. Max stares at her bare chest and just now noticed that she had no bra on. Seeing his surprised look, Carol smiles and said "I am both glad and disappointed that you are just now noticing that I had nothing inside."

Max had a smile on his face since he had told Fury before that it might get permanent and he needed an eye patch.

Fury also understood the meaning behind the smile when Max looked straight at his eye patch.

Fury walked up to Max and said, "I don't want to hear anything from you. That damn cat."

Max also understood how sad it would be to lose an eye, so he didn't comment on it and stayed silent.

Fury then asked, "What were you two doing in the sky the whole day?"

Max replied, "God descended upon us yesterday and said 'Let there be love'."

Carol chuckled from beside him and Fury just sighed. He had given up on getting answers from Max.

Fury said, "Anyway, now that I am the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Max, I better not see you doing something stupid with your godly powers. I've got my eye on you."

Max said, "So, you finally became the Director, huh?"

Fury said, "With a track record of fighting aliens, befriending aliens, and being close to two of the strongest people to have walked the planet, there is no way I wouldn't become a director."

Talos, who heard the whole conversation, said, "We definitely have to celebrate this day."

Fury said, "Oh, hell no! The S.H.I.E.L.D. has been working its ass off to cover for your spaceship in space. Do you know how many people like to star gaze? A lot. Now, get your ass out of here and we can celebrate later when you guys find a new home."

Talos was disappointed, but he listened to Fury and prepared to leave. The Skrulls that came with him were loading the supplies that Fury brought into their modified jet, which could now hold more volume and weight.

While the Skrulls were working, Max approached Carol and said, "Carol, I have something important to tell you and I think I should tell you before you leave."

Carol noticed the serious look on his face and they both walked away from the rest to have a private conversation.

Max then started narrating his whole life story, the story of Max and not his previous life. Carol was just standing there, listening to Max narrate his life, with her face displaying various emotions.

She was shocked, sad, angry, surprised, and happy. All the other emotions made sense with his story, but she was happy only because Max chose to tell her the truth instead of hiding it from her.

After Max was done with the whole story, Carol just stood there in complete silence and this was way scarier than her getting pissed or shouting at him, which he was expecting.

Carol then said, "I have a question I want you to answer honestly."

Max nodded and Carol asked, "Do you still have feelings for that woman?"

Max said, "No. I even sold the wedding ring."

Carol then said, "I am going to forgive you this time since I can see your love in your eyes, and the fear of losing me. That is enough to forgive you for not telling me any of this before."

Max let out a sigh of relief and kissed her. They hugged each other and Max said, "Thank you for understanding. I really didn't expect you to take this without lashing out at me."

Carol said, "Well, I did live for 10 years in space where it is common for people to have multiple partners. I saw love in your eyes, which usually never lie and thus I trust you."

Max then said, "So, if hypothetically, I like another woman, can I still be with both you and her?"

Carol just looked at Max, waiting for him to say it was a joke, but he didn't. Carol was now pissed. She said, "Seriously, Max, just when I started trusting you, you start blabbering shit."

Max said, "Carol. I love you, I really do. I also know I shouldn't be asking this, but this was also a dream I had and remember how I told you about the accident that gave me my powers, I died and came back to life that day. At that moment, I decided that this is a second chance at life and I will fulfill all my dreams without fail."

Carol said, "Then find other women who sympathize with your dream. I am leaving."

Carol then turned to leave and Max just stood there. She walked a little distance and stopped. She then turned back and ran to him. She hit him in the chest, not using her powers.

She said, "Were you actually thinking of letting me leave?"

Max said, "Just like you know how much I love you, I do the same. I know you won't leave."

Carol said, "How did I fall for someone like you?"

Max said, "Well, I am quite charming."

Carol then hugged him and he hugged her back. Carol then said, "You wish. Although I still hate the thought of seeing you with someone else, I will agree with the condition that I should also like the person I am sharing you with. I also don't want you going around every woman you see now that I have agreed."

Max said, "I love you."

Carol looked at Max and said, "I love you too."

They then went back to the rest, and Talos was done packing all the supplies they needed for their trip.

Carol then floated in the sky and waved them goodbye before flying off.

Max then also flew off to his house and landed outside his villa. When he landed there, he sensed someone near his house. He was able to sense people around him just by sensing the electric pulses inside their body.

'They already sent their spy, huh.' Max thought to himself and entered his house.

*Flashback 2 hours ago*

A woman with red hair in a tight black body suit walked into a room and stood in front of Alexander Pierce.

Pierce looked at her and said, "Agent Romanoff, I have an important mission for you, one which we cannot afford failures."

Pierce then walked up to her and handed her a file. She opened it and was shocked to read the details. Aliens, spaceships and alien invasion.

Pierce said, "He is a man with powers on the same level as the most powerful mutants we have ever seen, or he might be even stronger. I could assign mutants for this mission, but they are arrogant and might cause trouble. You are the perfect agent for this job since you know how to control your emotions, how to stay in the shadows and how to monitor a person. Do you think you can do it?"

Agent Romanoff asked, "What is the mission, sir?"

Pierce said, "He is a man who could be a great threat to mankind if he ever decides to use his powers for evil. I want you to monitor every activity of his and search for clues that might help us discover his weakness so that we can control him when he turns evil. Remember, we can't provoke him. You must make sure you aren't exposed and collect the necessary information."

Agent Romanoff said, "I will get right to it." And left the room.
