"Abracadabra, bitch!" (chapter 8)

"Well, shit," Adam cursed, considering his predicament. He tried to conjure the spinning arrow, as he weaved through the streets. With every ten seconds, he shot three spinning arrows at his pursuers. However, the beings conjured up force fields that deflected the magic or skillfully evaded the arrows. The environment was a chaotic mix of city lights, bustling crowds, and the alien threat.

Despite his efforts, the spinning arrows seemed ineffective against the robotic entities. Eventually, the creatures closed in on Adam, and he was unable to avoid their attacks. As their long staff-like weapon connected to his side rib, it sent him tumbling, hitting a wall as he didn't even get to breathe before a green bolt of energy struck him, which he dodged by hair breath as he got up while continuing to run.

No matter how many arrows Adam threw, they failed to inflict any damage on these robots with a large eye for a head. Soon, the alien creatures caught up with him, lifting him up in his injured state. Bleeding from his head, legs, and torso, Adam was in dire straits. The robotic alien announced, "Sanctification complete, for Empirikul."

Adam, with a bloody mouth, chuckled defiantly. "Abracadabra, bitch!" With surprising strength, he shoved one of the spinning arrows into the robot's eye, causing it to crumble. Before the other could react, it was pierced by the remaining two arrows to its eye. As they fell to the ground, Adam gasped for breath, muttering, "Note to self, aim for the giant eyeball." no matter how stupid he fell, he couldn't be happier, but the pain continued to radiate.

In the heart of the night, deep within the confines of a dense forest, a sudden eruption of green light illuminated the surroundings. The resounding echoes of trees being mercilessly cleaved in half reverberated through the woods. This display of destruction harmonized with the growls of wolves and the snapping of branches underfoot. Amidst the chaos emerged a figure, standing at a height of 5 feet 5 inches.

Cloaked in an ensemble that seamlessly melded silver metal, the very same material as the Empirikul eye robots, and ordinary fabric, the mysterious attire featured glimpses of the regular cloth peeking through the gaps in the metallic armor. Interspersed with the metallic components was the unmistakable texture of wolf fur. Strapped to the figure's back was a backpack, and the imposing weapon wielded by the eye robots rested securely against the figure's frame.

Despite the weight of the gear, the figure moved with remarkable agility, deftly navigating the forest terrain. Suddenly, three witch-hunting wolves materialized behind the figure, each unleashing menacing green lasers from their eyes. In response, the figure's hands radiated a brilliant white glow as a protective plate, measuring precisely 300x300x15mm, manifested in the air. Resilient and unwavering, the plate absorbed the onslaught of the laser barrage.

Turning swiftly, the figure confronted the assailant wolves, wielding the pole weapon strapped to their back. Swift, precise movements culminated in the demise of the mechanical wolves. The forest floor, now littered with their metallic remains, bore witness to the figure's triumph.

Exhausted and drained, the figure removed the helmet, unveiling the wearied countenance of Adam. "Of course, it had to get harder. The wolves can shoot lasers," he muttered bitterly, casting a glance over the fallen adversaries before resuming his solitary journey through the depths of the night-shrouded forest, but not before giving his status screen a glance.

 -scene change-

After dispatching the witch-hunting wolves, Adam let out a weary groan as he reached the base of a hill, where a small opening seemed to beckon him. The encroaching threat felt uncomfortably near. "They are getting way too close for comfort," he muttered to himself. With caution, he entered the cave, waiting a minute before invoking a mana spell. Condensing a ball of mana, he formed a marble-sized orb that cast a soft glow, revealing a narrow passage ahead. Walking for about 30 seconds, he reached a larger cavern.

A/N Well, here's another chapter. Hopefully, you guys like this. Just an early warning: most of Adam's fights will consist of him battling strong opponents who cause bleeding, and some may even break his bones (occasionally). So get used to it, because the monsters (not the Emprikuls) will continue to get stronger, and so will he.

P.S.: To all you D&D lovers, how useful do you think a Chardalyn would be for Adam?
