50 Sorcerer Killer(chapter 50)

Oliver paused for a moment, glancing back over his shoulder. "I don't do teams, Kate, " he called back, his voice firm but not unkind. And with that, he disappeared into the park, leaving Kate to shake her head with a mix of amusement and fond exasperation.

Oliver sat in his shell home, the faint glow of enchantments illuminating the room in a soft, otherworldly light. The block of mysterium in his hand felt heavy, its dark metal gleaming in the magical ambiance of the room. He turned it over, examining every facet, every angle, as ideas danced through his mind.

"What should I make?" he pondered aloud, his voice echoing softly in the quiet room. Suddenly, an idea sparked in his mind, and a rare smile crossed his face. "Hmm," he murmured, his eyes lighting up with determination. "This might just work."

With purposeful strides, he moved to a large table where an enchanted sketchbook lay open. The pages were filled with various designs, each one a concept for the mysterium. Among them, he found a helmet design that spoke to him. Given the limited amount of mysterium he possessed, a full suit of armor was out of reach. So he settled on the helmet, he had a particular option in mind, and if he didn't get it, he can just remove the option and re-option it again.

Hours slipped away as he heated the metal, shaping it with careful precision. The mysterium yielded to his will, its dark surface taking form under his skilled hands. Detailing and refining took hours more, each curve and line a testament to his dedication. When at last the helmet was complete, he hesitated before giving it an option. Opting for caution, he used the heirloom ruby ring's powers to enhance his luck and fortune.

[Name: Heirloom Ruby Ring]

[Grade: White]

[Description: This old gold ring, passed down through generations in a wealthy family, is adorned with a beautiful ruby. Each scratch on its surface tells a tale of the family's history and prosperity.]

[Option 1: Minor Fortune Blessing (Rank: F) (Passive) - Grants a subtle, luck-infused aura that brings small but positive moments into the wearer's life.]

[Option 2: Fortune Surge (Rank: E) (Active) - Unleashes a burst of intense luck when activated, significantly increasing the wearer's luck during combat for 15 minutes.]

[Durability: 72% (unstable, higher ranking options won't be accommodated)]

As Oliver infused the helmet with its option, he got a less variable option, so he tried again, and again, and again, until he finally stopped, a wicked grin spread across his face. "Guess options really are related to the intended function of the item," he mused with a touch of madness. With a swift motion, he placed the helmet on his head, feeling its cool embrace. Almost immediately, the mysterium reacted, enveloping him in shadowy tendrils.

"Hhhh," he breathed, feeling the transformation take hold. His once red hair now flowed ebony, defying gravity in a surreal display. His eyes, once vibrant, were now pools of white, shining with an otherworldly glow. "Looks like I didn't need that much mysterium," he remarked to himself, admiring the newly forged armor.

[Name: Sorcerer-Killer]

[Grade: Purple (peak)]

[Description: Crafted from the legendary metal mysterium, this helmet exudes an aura of mystique and power. Once mysterium sets, its strength and durability become unmatched, impervious even to the mightiest of forces. It conducts electricity with perfect efficiency, while remaining impervious to heat and radiation. Mysterium resonates with magic, rendering its wearer immune to magical effects and capable of breaking spells with a mere touch.]

[Option 1: Shadowmeld Transformation (Passive) - This helmet possesses the ability to blend seamlessly into the user's head, extending into a full tight black armor that envelops the wearer. The armor inherits the properties of the helmet, transforming the user into a shadowy being, impervious to magical attacks.]

[Option 2: Shadowblade Extension (Active) - With a conscious effort, the wearer can extend parts of the armor into blades and sharp spikes, augmenting their offensive capabilities in combat.]

[Durability: 100%]

"Sorcerer-Killer indeed," Oliver murmured, marveling at the armor's properties. "Breaking a spell with a single touch, and the properties extend to the whole suit." As he looked at himself, the suit hugged his body, accentuating his muscles and giving him the appearance of a shadow creature—albeit a jacked one.

"So, this should be used when I'm fighting against sorcerers," he reasoned, thinking of the second option's usefulness in combat. "With Shadowblade Extension, I can create swords, axes, or knives to deal damage when they can't cast spells and i want to keep my distance" It was a formidable armor, tailor-made for his encounters with sorcerers, the main reason he crafted it. With a satisfied nod, he removed the helmet, feeling empowered and ready for the battles to come.

[Name: Oliver]

Oliver, deep in the forest's secluded embrace, held a silver compass open before him. This wasn't an ordinary compass; its surface shimmered with a holographic display showing a green dot representing Oliver himself, surrounded by the lush foliage. A red arrow pointed determinedly in a certain direction, guiding his steps through the thick underbrush.

"It should be here," Oliver muttered to himself, oblivious to the snake slithering beneath him. With each step, the compass adjusted, leading him closer to a specific location. Finally, the red arrow aligned with a blooming flower, marked by a red dot on the compass. Remembering past discoveries, Oliver knelt down and plucked the flower.

Author's Note: Chapter 50 marks the halfway point of this fanfic, which, of course, does not signify its conclusion (unless circumstances change). Nonetheless, reaching this milestone is gratifying, and I am thankful for not abandoning it midway, especially considering the positive feedback from you all. Anyway, the true treasure hunt begins now; armed with this compass, Oliver will encounter valuable items along with formidable foes.

P.S.: While reading Thor comics, I couldn't help but notice the striking resemblance between Angela (Thor's sister) and Oliver. Both sport red hair, excel in combat, and share a rather unfriendly demeanor.
