76 Peak(chapter 75)

It had been two weeks since the event with Mjolnir, and Oliver could be seen carefully removing a fire plant from one of his early planting plots. As he uprooted the plant, he couldn't help but think, "I really need a bigger plant bed." He then ground the plant into a paste before adding it to a cauldron boiling ice from the coldest place in the Savage Land. A small amount of powdered demon blood was added into the cauldron, which emitted a purple aura.

"Although it's a one-time-use item, I can mass produce it," he smiled as he placed the potion down. "With this, my journey as a potioneer has already begun. I just need to create a potion that can have a permanent effect," he mused as he picked up his sketchbook. The first thing he noticed was the perfect armor plan he had made. "Right, an armor so perfect that all attacks are rendered ineffective. It would have been nice a couple of days ago," he scoffed as he looked at the reason why the armor was put on hold. "Right, no great material," he sighed as he got up, his eyes laying on the crucible, which still held his prototype alloy, except for the black chunks of metal beneath it—the failed product of the metals' fusion due to his rushed process.

"I wonder if the failed chunks of the ultimate alloy can be used," he asked himself as he picked up the failed product, sighing. "I would likely need a main material for the armor, something big, ancient, and special," he muttered before picking up a black sword he had just forged. It was a practice sword, created by fusing two of the metals into the ultimate alloy, which he succeeded in making a new sword. After sharpening it, he exited his shell home, arriving at a familiar desolate dark dimension—Amenth. "I still need more eldritch creature blood," he thought to himself. Although he had crossed Amenth off his dimension-to-go list, it still had materials he needed. "And also daemon blood as well," he sighed as he felt the coarse gravel beneath him.

However, something caught his eye. "Huh, this wasn't here the last time I was here." In front of him were large mounds with large red spikes skewing out of them, which intrigued him as he sensed magic in them, thanks to his bloodline progression reaching 50%. "Magic is always quite fascinating, ignoring its cost," he mused as he also thought of his one and only spell, which was more of an innate ability rather than a magical spell. As he got close to the mound, a large green bolt of energy was thrown his way, crackling in the air like lightning. However, Oliver could tell it was more of a magical blast than lightning, just as it was about to come in contact with him.

The eldritch alloy in his hand was able to deflect the attack, its surface shimmering with an eerie glow. With his mind overworking thanks to the options provided by the eldritch alloy, he didn't even need to move. "So it's a sort of tower," he mused as suddenly, he could hear the distant roars of creatures, their ominous sounds growing closer by the minute. "Hmmm," he mused as he quickly retrieved his Marrow Devourer, though seeing the durability of the item, he sighed. "I need something that can fix the durability of my items," he muttered as he glanced at his newly sharpened sword.

Entering his shell quickly to give it an option, Oliver was left stunned. The sword emerged with a high-intensity purple aura, signifying its peak purple status. But what truly left Oliver stunned was the option of the item, which had him smiling as he exited his shell home, just to arrive in the middle of a horde - the same army he had seen led by Pestilence and the other four horsemen. The moment they spotted him, they wasted no time, swarming him by the thousands. That's when the purple blade he was holding quickly glowed with golden light, holy energy enveloping the sword. Oliver thought, "Huh, so holy items are their weakness, huh? Makes sense since they are demons," as he inspected the options of the item he was holding.

[ Name: Peak ]

[ Grade: Purple (PEAK) ]

[ Description: Crafted from the rarest of materials - adamantium and mysterium - this black sword is the epitome of perfection. Its blade is flawlessly forged and honed to a razor edge, capable of cutting through anything with ease. ]

[ Option 1: Cut - Allows the user to cut through any material effortlessly, regardless of its hardness or density. In a devastating blow. (Rank: D) (Active) ]

[ Option 2: Swiftstride - Grants the user unparalleled speed and heightened senses, enhancing their agility and reflexes in combat. (Rank: D) (Passive) ]

[ Option 3: Antithesis - Temporarily imbues the sword with the anti-properties of the opponent, rendering it their weakness or nullifying their advantages during combat. (Rank: D) (Passive) ]

[ Durability: 100% ]

The new sword's option, Peak, greatly intrigued Oliver, especially the first option, as it allowed him to cut through anything in a devastating blow. Though it was only ranked D, he knew there were likely things it couldn't cut through. But the last option made him ecstatic, as the sword emitted a holy aura - the weakness of the demons that were about to swarm him.

Just as the demons were about to engulf him, Oliver's hand moved, blindingly fast. So fast that the demons didn't even sense anything until their heads started to fly and they began to burn. He swung his sword in a perfect 360-degree circle around him, effortlessly cutting through the demons while remaining unharmed.

This was while he wasn't moving a muscle. The moment he moved, with all the speed the second option of the sword offered, he became a blur. The demons couldn't react in time, their limbs and heads flying everywhere. It was a massacre, a ballet of death, and Oliver was the maestro. After the seemingly endless horde of demons ceased, he stopped as well, standing atop mountains of demons, wearing the eldritch alloy as armor to shield himself from the blood that threatened to stain him.

With a sigh, his short red hair unaffected by the wind, he surveyed the scene, his eyes displaying no emotion. "Looks like I won't be short of daemon blood for a long time," he remarked before retrieving his old trusty collector - the crystal bloodflask that absorbed all blood within 20 meters. And it wasn't just one flask, but five. After collecting the blood and the horns, he left the area, guided by his compass.

–scene change-

Back on Earth, it was the dead of night, with thick clouds gathering overhead, obscuring most of the moonlight from reaching the ground below. Beneath a bridge, a massive lizard, almost resembling a dragon, roared at Oliver, who stood his ground, wielding Peak. Unfazed by the creature, Oliver faced it head-on. As the draconic lizard lunged towards him, jaws gaping wide, Oliver simply drew his sword. Though his movement seemed casual, it was anything but. In a flash, he made a diagonal sword cut, and at that precise moment, the clouds in the sky parted.
