Oliver vs The Beyonder: part 1 (chapter 80)

previously in chapter 79

"What I want is for you to join me. Although you are a newly turned demon, you are powerful, as powerful as a demon prince," Satana proposed, her movements enticing. But Oliver's suppressed emotions left him unmoved, his attraction to her dulled. "So, what do you say, a demon prince and a demon queen?" she asked, extending her hand towards him. Oliver was about to reply when suddenly, he sensed it—the same feeling of being hunted. His gaze snapped upward, interrupting Satana before she could finish her sentence as he flew up.

"Well, that is quite rude. I was—" Her words were cut off as Oliver extended his wings and soared into the sky. "Unbelievable, fucking pretty boys," Satana muttered under her breath, only to witness a large hand swooping in and grabbing Oliver mid-flight. A booming voice followed, declaring, "There you are, fateless soul. I have been looking for you," before the hand retreated, revealing several familiar and formidable figures.

Chapter 80

The Avengers, Earth's mightiest heroes, stood before her—Dr. Strange, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, Thor, Echo, the Avatar of the Phoenix, Ghost Rider, and the Scarlet Witch. Alongside them stood Captain Marvel and the Star Brand. But the assembly didn't end there; the X-Men materialized as well, led by Jean Grey, Scott Summers, Rogue, Synch, Darwin, and Wolverine, the latter whom Oliver had aided just days ago.

However that was not the end of it as the Eternals of Earth such as Zuras, Ikaris, Sprite, Sersi, Domo, and Phastos, there were also other members arriving such as the Fantastic Four, even villains such as Dr. Doom as well as other well-known villains, as well as many other heroes, and some were still arriving. "What the hell was the Beyonder doing here?" Stark was the first to speak as he got some reading. "Oh god, it's not another Secret War, is it? i hope not," Spider-Man, who was also present, mumbled to himself as everyone tried to piece together what happened and why one of the most powerful beings was there, kidnapping people. The people's attention fell on Dr. Doom, who scoffed, "Do not pin this on me, Avengers, i wouldn't be this foolish" he spoke with arrogance, not even a bit pressured by the amount of good guys.

"Whoever was kidnapped must have done something bad," spoke Sersi as everyone's attention turned to Satana, who was there from the beginning. Feeling everyone's attention on her, Satana's boundless ego was greatly stroked as she chuckled, "As much as I would like to say that the Beyonder was here for me, he wasn't. He was here for a new demon named Oliver." The moment she said that, most of them looked at her. "Wait, Oliver? As in big guy, 6 feet 7ish, red hair? kinda se-" It was Wanda who spoke before conjuring up an image of Oliver. "Hmm, they look similar, this one," Satana gave a thoughtful look before conjuring her own image of Oliver, whom they quickly recognized was Oliver. "It's him again," Captain Marvel said as everyone could guess what happened.

Meanwhile, in a separate space that was specifically conjured up by the Beyonder, who looked like a man wearing 1900s white clothes floated in the air. Below him on the ground in the barren wasteland was Oliver in his demonic form in a crater. "Who are you?" Oliver asked as this figure was someone able to teleport to a different place before he could blink. "Me, I am Beyonder, but to you, hhhhhh, well, there is no need for you to know anything more as you will die soon," the Beyonder spoke with no hint of arrogance, as if he was just stating the obvious, and he was. The Beyonder was powerful, true to his name. "And why is that?" Oliver asked not afraid but wanting to know who put a hit on his head. "Oh that, his name, ah? I don't remember. He was powerful though. We exchanged thousands of moves in a matter of seconds. He was more powerful than anyone I have met, and that person wants you dead for some reason," the Beyonder explained himself.

"Hmm," Oliver, of course, isn't stupid. He can see when someone can kill him, effortlessly at that, like the Scarlet Witch, so he wasn't going to stay and fight whatever this thing calling itself the Beyonder was. But the moment he did so, the Beyonder tutted, "No, no, no, don't be such a bore. Of course, there is no way I am allowing you to leave. This place you are in is outside of time, space, and well, everything. It's a place I specifically created for you, fateless. No one else beside us can be here or find this place, so trying to leave is quite pointless," the Beyonder explained, and it was true. Oliver could not teleport out of here. "You see," suddenly, the Beyonder appeared behind Oliver, who quickly struck behind him, only to hit nothing.

"I was told to erase you out of existence, instantly, as that is more beneficial to that person and assures him, but where is the fun in that?" the Beyonder chuckled with a childlike manner. "Instead, I will be giving you a chance to surprise me. I will fight at only 10%, and I will use more and more of my powers as I deem it. Are you ready?" the Beyonder asked with a smile as Oliver replied by taking out his peak.

In the desolate expanse of the barren wasteland, Oliver's towering figure exuded a palpable aura of power, his muscles rippling beneath his skin as he wielded the legendary sword Peak with an unwavering grip. Crafted from the rarest of materials - adamantium and mysterium - the blade shimmered ominously in the dim light, a testament to Oliver's unwavering resolve. With a deep breath, his crimson eyes locked onto the Beyonder, who observed the unfolding confrontation with gleeful anticipation.

"Hmm, this is getting interesting," the Beyonder remarked, his voice tinged with amusement as he felt the pressure emanating from the formidable weapon in Oliver's grasp. Undeterred by the Beyonder's presence, Oliver tightened his grip around the hilt, activating the first option of Peak, Cut, causing the blade to thrum with otherworldly energy.

In a swift and decisive motion, Oliver unleashed a powerful swing towards the Beyonder, who raised his hand in an attempt to halt the impending strike with his godlike powers. However, to his surprise, the blade sliced through the air with unstoppable force, severing the Beyonder's hand effortlessly. A smirk danced across the Beyonder's lips as his hand regenerated instantaneously, a testament to his near-invincible nature.

"More," the Beyonder chuckled, his laughter echoing across the desolate landscape as he beckoned Oliver to continue his assault. Unfazed by the Beyonder's taunts, Oliver pressed on, his movements fueled by a determination bordering on obsession.

As the clash between mortal and cosmic entity unfolded, the Beyonder conjured a barrier of reality-warping energy to deflect Oliver's relentless onslaught. The air crackled with the sheer intensity of their clash, the very fabric of reality quivering under the strain of their opposing forces.

Undeterred by the Beyonder's formidable defenses, Oliver activated the second option of Peak, Swiftstride, moving with unparalleled speed and agility as he darted around the cosmic entity's defenses with lightning-like reflexes. His movements were a blur of motion as he closed the distance between them, his eyes burning with an unyielding determination.

With his nigh-omniscient awareness, the Beyonder anticipated Oliver's every move, countering his attacks with ruthless precision. Yet, despite his immense power, the Beyonder found himself unable to penetrate Oliver's mental defenses, much to his growing frustration.

As the battle raged on, Oliver unleashed the third option of Peak, Antithesis, imbuing the sword with the anti-properties of the Beyonder's godlike abilities. However, to his dismay, the blade remained unchanged, a testament to the Beyonder's apparent invulnerability.

Intrigued by Oliver's resilience, the Beyonder unleashed a torrent of reality-warping attacks, distorting the very fabric of space around them. Oliver, undeterred by the chaos unfolding around him, pressed on with unwavering resolve, his sword striking true with each calculated blow.

With a childlike grin, the Beyonder escalated his assault, his attacks growing more ferocious with each passing moment. Oliver, bloodied and battered, met the cosmic entity's onslaught head-on, his determination unyielding despite the overwhelming odds stacked against him.

As the battle reached its climax, the Beyonder's powers surged to unimaginable heights, overwhelming Oliver's defenses with sheer force of will. With a final, devastating strike, the Beyonder shattered Peak with a mere flick of his wrist, the once-impervious blade crumbling to pieces in Oliver's hands.

Gasping for breath, Oliver stared in disbelief at the shattered remnants of his beloved sword, frustration and despair gnawing at his soul. "Fuck," he muttered under his breath, his body wracked with pain from the relentless onslaught. The Beyonder's laughter echoed mockingly through the desolate landscape as he yelled, "Come on show me more" Finally turning his eyes away from the remnants of his sword, Oliver sighted as he prepared to take out another item.
