my adventure with scarlet witch(chapter 72)

prevoius in chapter 71

Wanda prepared a coffee for them both as she asked, "And I'm guessing that has something to do with your visit today?" Oliver nodded, "Precisely," as he took a seat on a bar stool. "Oliver, I am the Scarlet Witch. I have been many things – an Avenger, X-Men, part of the Sorcerer Society – and my goal has always been to help people. So you don't have to feel indebted to me," Wanda explained, placing the steaming coffees in front of Oliver.

"Yeah, even then, you could have just left me to wander around, God knows where that pocket watch would have taken me," Oliver said, taking a sip of his coffee. Wanda sighed, "That wouldn't have sat right with me. Plus, you would have found your way. You weren't in a different dimension; you were just in Antarctica, although I don't know why you changed in just a span of days." She then took a seat next to him as they faced the rows of bookshelves.

"Nonetheless, you helped, and I owe you one," Oliver insisted, not backing down. Wanda chuckled, "You're not going to let this one go, are you?" Oliver shook his head, "Not really, but you see, in my opinion, you are the most powerful sorcerer on Earth. At my current level, I don't really have something that I can offer you...yet." With a confident air, Oliver retrieved a golden pendant with a circle on it from his pocket, handing it to Wanda, who looked at it with curiosity.

"I'm sort of an... enchanter, taking mundane things," Oliver revealed, catching Wanda's attention as he then retrieved a normal iron bar. "And turning them into something extraordinary," he added, showcasing an iron bar with an ice attribute. Wanda's eyes widened with surprise and curiosity. "And if this were a game, where there 12 levels, I would be level 3, yet I can make something extraordinary at my current level," Oliver explained, a glint of excitement in his eyes.

Wanda chuckled, "I can see." She then gazed at him directly, though she was looking into his hybrid form. Oliver smiled as he transformed into his hybrid form, demonstrating his capabilities. "As I was saying, at my current level, I cannot make something that can really help you that much, not in the ways that can pay my debt. So, I am giving you a ticket – sometime in the future when I am powerful enough, you can request me to make something for you, anything," he said, looking down at her as he was taller by several inches.

"Well, don't go back on your words when I request a ring that can trap Elder Gods," Wanda teased playfully, earning a smile from Oliver. "Oh, I will give you a ring alright. Now that I think about it, I should probably start designing and gathering materials for your ring," Oliver pondered seriously, lost in thought. Wanda then gently patted his head, the gesture resembling a mother looking at her child, which surprised Oliver. "You do know that I am 22, ish. right?" he joked, causing Wanda to retract her hand with a smile.

"But that is all in the future. For now, I heard you go and help towns and people with their supernatural problems. I know you don't..." Oliver was interrupted mid-sentence by Wanda. "Oh, would you look at that, there is a town plagued by a demon. Do you want to come along? I heard you are a hunter, even killing Adana," Wanda suggested, her expression serious yet inviting. Oliver shrugged nonchalantly, "Well, I did have an Eldritch sword that could stop her healing factor, so it wasn't really a fair fight."

Wanda, with a flick of her wrist, changed into her Scarlet Witch costume, ready for action. "Well, she was an Eldritch goddess, so it wasn't a fair fight to begin with," she remarked, not letting Oliver downplay his own achievement. With a nod, they exited the Emporium together.
