60 Getting vibranium(chapter 60)

"Are you sure this evidence is true?" Shuri asked her assistant, seeking confirmation. Her assistant responded immediately, "Affirmed, Shuri. Shall I adjust the threat level for this individual known as Oliver?" While Shuri pondered, Oliver remained surprisingly patient. He observed, "Well, it looks like I've left quite a trail in the world. Oh well, it doesn't matter. This situation seems familiar—where I need a metal and end up doing a task for someone." He chuckled to himself, which caused Shuri to frown further, her expression now guarded, "what is so funny?"

"Yeah, nothing. Anyways, you said you wanted to ask me questions? Why don't we find a seat and I'll answer your questions?" Oliver suggested with a disarming smile. If someone who knew him, like Elektra, saw him smiling like that, they might think he was possessed by a different soul from another universe. Shuri, however, was deep in thought. "Given all the evidence I have on him, he is quite formidable. There's no logical reason why he would want to lure me somewhere. Monster hunters like him are usually straightforward," she reasoned internally. Unbeknownst to Shuri, Oliver did indeed have an ulterior motive. "Well, if I have to charm her to get more vibranium, then so be it. I've already used my body to get mystrium," he mused, his mind already at work on his next move

It was still the dead of night, and Oliver sat on a park bench across from Shuri, the Princess of Wakanda. She had a hand pressed to her forehead in frustration as she listened to Oliver's explanation. "Let's get this straight. Your best idea to obtain vibranium was to find organizations against Wakanda, raid them, and acquire vibranium that way?" she summarized incredulously. Oliver nodded casually. "You already have Savage Land vibranium and adamantium. Why do you need another super metal?" she queried, genuinely curious.

"Well, I'm collecting them, you know. Gotta catch 'em all," Oliver quipped with a grin, leaning forward slightly. Shuri couldn't help but find his demeanor amusing, though she tried to maintain her serious expression. "Was that a Pokémon reference? Anyways, I'm getting sidetracked. The point is, you want vibranium. So you followed two people you thought were related to organizations targeting Wakanda, and you happened upon Omolola and Jhai, witnessing their fight and Jhai's supposed death?" she clarified, typing notes into a holographic display that fascinated Oliver.

"Oh, I do have information crucial to your investigation, but it's going to cost you," Oliver said with a sly grin, his fox-like smile adding a playful tone to the conversation. Shuri frowned at his playful demeanor. "And let me guess, you want vibranium?" she retorted sarcastically, arching an eyebrow as she winked. "Precisely," Oliver replied, his gaze locked with hers. "Whatever it is you're doing, it's not working," Shuri deadpanned, though a hint of amusement danced in her eyes.

"Oh, I don't know what you're talking about," Oliver responded playfully, causing Shuri to groan. "I know you're probably used to having women swoon over you with that smile, but I'm not one of them. You're about as attractive to me as a toad," she remarked, trying to maintain her serious demeanor.

"Didn't Princess Tiana kiss a frog?" Oliver teased, earning an even more annoyed look from Shuri. "Information now, or I vaporize your ass," she threatened, her tone becoming more serious. Chuckling, Oliver leaned back on the bench, crossing his arms casually. "Jhai isn't dead," he dropped the bombshell, watching Shuri's reaction closely.

"I personally saw his body at the morgue," Shuri countered, her voice firm with conviction. Oliver sighed before responding, "I was watching the entire time. In fact, he's in cahoots with them," he revealed, his tone earnest. Shuri's expression shifted to one of disbelief mixed with a tinge of anger. "Cahoots? That's an odd choice of word. Are you telling me Jhai is a traitor?" she questioned sharply, her hostility clear.

"I don't know about traitor, but the people who attacked him all got up and walked away with him to a safe house after placing a look-alike at the scene," Oliver explained truthfully. He was well aware that Shuri might not believe him, but he didn't seem fazed. "I'll leave it to you to make sense of that," he added cryptically, a glint of mischief in his eyes.

Shuri conversed with her AI assistant before sighing, "Fine, but in the meantime, you're coming with me to verify your information. If it's accurate, I will reward you appropriately," she declared, rising from her seat. Oliver mirrored her actions, extending his hand. "Deal?" he proposed with a smile, to which Shuri responded with another groan, shaking his hand reluctantly. "Deal," she conceded, and the two of them departed.

Less than an hour later, Oliver stood outside the morgue, where Shuri emerged with a grim expression. Annoyingly, he wore a smug smile, but Shuri waved him off before striding past him. "Don't even start," she muttered, clearly exasperated. As they walked together, Oliver's hand briefly hovered over a particular hammer. "With a bit of uru and adamantium combined, I should be able to craft a hammer with powerful options to enhance magical weapons. But first, I need to learn forging from the dwarves," he contemplated quietly as they continued on.

After walking for a few minutes, Shuri paused, typing on her holographic screen. "Fine, you were right. That wasn't him. But whatever the reason for his actions, there has to be a motive. He was T'Challa's best friend," she grumbled, receiving a notification on her screen. "And whatever the reason, I will find out," she declared, transforming into a flock of ravens and flying away. Meanwhile, Oliver reflected on magic. "Magic is fascinating, but every spell has its price, often outweighing its usefulness. And I don't want any gods watching me until I finish my powerful alloy," he concluded after raiding the ice giant sorcerers' magical treasury.

Oliver had perused scrolls and tomes, discovering that magic in this world had its drawbacks. "Magic is a no-go for now until I can find a balance," he concluded disappointedly, realizing that the magic he encountered wasn't what he expected.

---scene change---

Nestled between ordinary buildings was a structure resembling the others, but with a large underground area—a safe house. Now, the safe house was in ruins, courtesy of Oliver and Shuri, who were currently subduing the same group of men that had attacked Wakanda's sleeper agent. The men lay scattered on the ground, with Shuri employing an energy gauntlet to dispatch them, while Oliver, opting for hand-to-hand combat, showcased his improved physique.

"Hmm, he's not using any of his weapons," Shuri observed, recalling her intel on Oliver's arsenal, each weapon more potent than the last. "But even without them, he's still formidable," she assessed silently, focusing on defeating the remaining assailants. "I'll try to extract whatever data I can from this place while you search for the others," she instructed Oliver, releasing several spherical objects to scan the surroundings. Meanwhile, Oliver explored the area, hoping to find some of the attackers wielding vibranium weapons, though he admitted to himself, "I was being unrealistic." His search led him to a secured room with a thick vault door, easily dismantled by a single slash from his anti-metal sword, reducing it to a puddle of liquid steel, which he collected.

"Now then, what were they guarding?" Oliver asked rhetorically as he entered the room. It was dimly lit, with a musty smell of old metal and dust in the air. Several military-grade crates lay scattered around, each holding its secret. Oliver approached the first crate, its metal exterior cool to the touch. With a swift movement, he popped it open to reveal a sleek, futuristic weapon. He picked it up, feeling its weight and balance, contemplating whether to use it for practice or dismantle it for parts. His fingers traced over the smooth, alien-like design, a hint of admiration in his eyes.

Moving on to the next crate, and the next, and the next, Oliver found himself amidst an array of advanced weaponry. Some were locked, but nothing was ever truly locked to Oliver. With a flick of his wrist, each lock yielded to his skills. Box after box revealed a treasure trove of cutting-edge technology. As he explored, his mind buzzed with ideas of how these weapons could be modified and enhanced. He mused to himself, "Hmm, I could use them for target practice or perhaps disassemble them to incorporate their components into my own creations."

Finally, he reached the last box, which stood out with its reinforced security. "Huh, this one is more secure than the others," he noted, a challenge glinting in his eyes. With a determined grin, he broke through the security measures, revealing a small ore with shimmering purple veins. A surge of excitement coursed through him. "Finally, vibranium," he muttered triumphantly, carefully pocketing the precious find.

A/N yeah, oliver is on social media, can you imagine oliver with a twitter account, anyways, as you can see, the reason why oliver is making such reference is becuase he has been on the interenet when making his one and only drone(which doesnt get much of a screen time, but i asure he is learning well) so yeah, he is an internet user. as for yestedays pole, was won by the celestial apex amulet, which is surprise as the other pendant allowed him to ressurect the death into a shadow soldier, like the shadow monarch, maybe that wasnt clear, i should probably change, if you can your mind then just comment arise here.....
