13 You Have Too Much influence on This World

177A Bleecker Street, Manhattan.

After three hours of searching, Fanny finally arrived at a three-story building. He sighed when he saw the iconic symbol on its roof.

Fanny felt a strange feeling as he stood in front of the gate to the building. It was like he would forget and ignore the building the second he stopped focusing on it. Although he had been preparing for nearly a month, he still hesitated when it was right in front of him. Fanny did not know if this was magic.

"With Ancient One's ability, she definitely knew that I would come here today already. Was she ignoring me on purpose because she thought I shouldn't come?

"No, it could also be that she was waiting for me inside. It makes sense; the Sorcerer Supreme has to keep up her dignity in front of the disciples. She couldn't be picking me up personally every time."

After thinking about it some more, Fanny finally took a step forward and walked into the New York Sanctuary.

The doors opened with a slight push. Fanny looked around the empty front hall, filled with items exuding an antique aura. A massive staircase leading to the second floor stood in the back of the hall.

"Everything looks expensive," Fanny muttered when he saw the luxurious interior. After what happened last time, he tried to speak carefully even if he couldn't see anyone around.

"Excuse me, is anybody alive?" Fanny did not touch anything and shouted from the hall. After all, this was one of the Three Great Sanctuaries. Who knew if there were any magic traps around?

A moment later, descending from the stairs was…a bald man?!

Looking at the bald man, Fanny suddenly felt worried about his hair. Learning magic from Ancient One would not cost him his hair, right?!

Fanny temporarily put away his thoughts after recalling the future Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange and called out to the mage who came downstairs, "Hello, I am a disciple that Master Ancient One took in some time ago. My name is Fanny Helsed. Just call me Fanny."

"Master Ancient One's disciple?" The man paused and looked at Fanny with some doubt. He replied, "Hello, I am Daniel Drumm. I am very sorry, Master Helsed, but I have not heard that Master Ancient One has taken in a disciple recently?"

"Cough..." Fanny coughed awkwardly, suppressing his guilt. "Perhaps Master thinks that I am not good enough to introduce as her disciple yet. Actually, I came here to ask Master Daniel to take me to meet Master Ancient One. I have some questions to ask her."

Daniel stared at Fanny for a while and seemed to decide that Fanny was not a threat. He nodded and said, "Please follow me."

Daniel brought Fanny to a closed door on the far left corner of the hall. Fanny watched as Daniel opened the door, only to find a stone wall behind it. Daniel made a few strange gestures, and orange energy filled his hands, which he pressed against the wall. The stone wall slowly became transparent, similar to a water curtain.

Earth teleportation isn't bad!

Fanny silently praised in his heart. Although Earth looked very weak on the surface, it contained enough hidden strength to surpass many civilizations in the universe.

After crossing the water curtain, the two arrived at a place that was like a library. A huge globe floated in the air. Fanny looked at everything around him curiously, especially the locked magic books. He looked around carefully when they passed the globe. He didn't find the Eye of Agamotto that contained the Time Stone. Ancient One should be wearing it.

Daniel led Fanny forward silently.

It was already evening in Kamar-Taj's time zone, and the change in the sky made Fanny feel uncomfortable. People on the way gawked at Fanny's clothes in curiosity, but none bothered him about it.

"Wait here for a while. I will report to Master Ancient One."

Daniel told Fanny to wait for a while when they arrived at a living room and disappeared.

Fanny sat nervously on the chair. He had been thinking about what to say to Ancient One and how to answer her questions for the last month. Now it was finally time to put them into action.

"Welcome to Kamar-Taj, Mr. Helsed." A familiar voice entered his ear, and Ancient One walked into the living room with all her radiant strength. She asked, "Would you like some tea?"

"Thank you. Just call me Fanny, Master." Fanny quickly stood up and looked at Ancient One nervously. Beside her was Daniel, who had led the way.

"Thank you for your hard work, Mage Daniel. I wish to speak with Mage Fanny, please."

Daniel left Fanny and Ancient One alone in the room. Ancient One skillfully brewed two cups of tea and sat down with a smile. "Try it. It's Longjing tea from China, though I don't know if it's to your taste."

Fanny accepted the teacup and took a sip. His tongue tingled slightly. The tea was not bitter, and the aftertaste was even a little sweet. The fresh fragrance cleared his dizzy head after making the compass.

"It tastes good!" Fanny subconsciously exclaimed in admiration. He didn't know much about tea, so he couldn't say any praise and simply took another sip.

"Thank you!" Ancient One smiled. She picked up her own teacup, her movements elegant and natural.

Fanny didn't come here just to drink tea, so although the tea was good, he didn't drink too much. Watching Ancient One carefully savoring the tea, he took the initiative and said, "Master Ancient One, I want to learn magic from you. Is that okay?"

"But haven't you already learned it?" Ancient One looked at him calmly.

"One could never have too much knowledge." Fanny replied seriously, "I haven't used much of that power up until now. I would like to ask Master to teach me."

"What if I say that I'm actually preventing you from using this power?" Ancient One suddenly dropped a bombastic question.

"What?!"

Fanny was a little stunned. He thought that Ancient One might refuse, agree, or put forward conditions or restrictions, but he never thought of such an answer.

The slow progress of unlocking 'Ars Magna' was related to Ancient One?!

"No one can truly control the future, Mr. Helsed." Ancient One slowly said, "I have seen so many possible futures, but I still feel that the future is unknown, especially about you. Your future fluctuates between something that exceeds all imagination and nothingness. I'm not even sure why I chose to meet you back then and now!"

Ancient One walked up to Fanny, her deep eyes staring straight at him. "The power you possess is terrifying. Fanny, you may make this world a better one, but you may also accelerate its destruction."

"Fanny Helsed, you have too much influence on this world!"
