47 This Guy Doesn't Look Like a Good Person!

Fanny took Skye to Hong Kong to accompany their parents and enjoy the New Year festivities. Their parents seem to have acclimated well to the Hong Kong food and wanted to settle down there for now, which made Fanny very happy.

Anyway, it's fine as long as they're not in New York. If not for Skye's stubbornness, he would've thrown her with their parents away from New York.

In the new year, Fanny wasn't able to meet the requirements for the fifth extraction. Instead, he met a somewhat unexpected yet expected person in Kamar-Taj.

Kaecilius, the man that without his intervention, would betray Kamar-Taj and join Dormammu in the future.

He would even stab the Sorcerer Supreme, killing her.

Fanny stared sternly at Kaecilius. That man still didn't have dark circles under his eyes—indeed, he wasn't even a mage yet. He wore a light yellow training robe, with fluffy hair and a messy beard. He exuded a sad and desperate aura.

His eyes were utterly devoid of life.

Nobody would ever guess someone so drowned in sorrow would betray humanity and try to bring Dormammu to Earth.

Except for one person, that is!

"This guy is obviously not a good person. Let's kick him out!" Fanny said seriously and repeatedly. Mordo almost thought that Kaecilius had offended Fanny.

"Fanny, he's just a pitiful person who lost his wife and son. He came to Kamar-Taj for redemption. Why are you targeting him?!"

"No, look at his face, nose, and eyes. He doesn't look like a good person!"

"Fanny, stop messing around."

Mordo was annoyed at Fanny's unreasonable demand. He was the one who brought Kaecilius from a stinking and dirty bar.

His empty and aimless eyes had reminded Mordo of his past self, so he brought Kaecilius back to Kamar-Taj, hoping to bring him salvation.

But he didn't expect Fanny to have such inexplicable prejudice against him.

Fanny was anxious, but he did not know how to explain it. If someone asked him what he wanted to change the most, it was undoubtedly Ancient One's death, which directly led to the culmination of Thanos' plan.

Was Thanos strong?

Of course, he was strong. He could subjugate so many planets and beat Hulk to the ground one-sidedly. And he also commanded an army. He was definitely a top-notch powerhouse in the universe.

However,

If Ancient One was here, Thanos wouldn't dare to snatch the Time Stone, especially if Odin also lived to supervise Earth and protect the Space Stone.

Ancient One and Odin were not inferior to Thanos. They might not be able to resist the snap after it happens, but they could lower the chance of the snap happening in the first place.

Fanny knew that Kaecilius was only one part of the factors that resulted in Ancient One's death, but he played a significant part. If Fanny had eliminated all the factors, Ancient One might not have had to die.

Unfortunately, the first step failed. Fanny opened his mouth but then silently sighed when he saw Mordo's angry face.

Nevertheless, there was still time before Doctor Strange entered the picture. He did not have to worry too much about the problem of Ancient One's mortality. At least before she could find the next Sorcerer Supreme to replace her, Ancient One could not let herself die.

Fanny didn't know how to prevent Kaecilius from joining Dormammu. That was another reason why Fanny was against letting him stay in Kamar-Taj.

From the plot that he knew, Kaecilius wanted everyone to obtain eternal life, which made him resort to contacting Dormammu.

...although the eternity that Dormammu promised was somewhat different from what he understood.

If Thanos knew about Kaecilius' wish and effort, he might be the first in line to kill him. If everyone had eternal life, what about planetary resources and population growth?

Even Ancient One's warnings couldn't turn him back. Fanny doubted that he could change him with his words. He would be better off cutting the path from the beginning.

If it was someone else who brought Kaecilius in, he would definitely drive him away, even if he had to offend that someone. But the one who brought Kaecilius was Mordo, the person who had helped Fanny immensely. He didn't want to ruin the friendship they had built.

Fanny couldn't change Mordo's decision, so he had to find Ancient One. Ultimately, she had the final say on whether Kaecilius could stay or not.

Fanny found Ancient One in a room, sitting cross-legged with her eyes closed. The room was quiet and peaceful.

Fanny came in front of Ancient One and said carefully, "Teacher, don't you think there is something wrong with that Kaecilius that Senior Mordo brought back?"

Ancient One opened her eyes and stared at Fanny with a pair of bright eyes. She asked, "What's the problem?"

"I don't think he will be a good person in the future," Fanny said while gritting his teeth. He couldn't believe that Ancient One hadn't seen Kaecilius' future.

"So we should work harder to make him a good person in the future," Ancient One rebuked calmly, "Fanny, you should give him a chance. He hasn't made his future choices, has he?"

Fanny was left speechless. Yes, no matter what he might become in the future, the current Kaecilius was just a pitiful man who had lost his family.

Before he actually made the decision to join Dormammu, Ancient One would give him as many chances as he needed. This was Kamar-Taj's Sorcerer Supreme, a sickeningly kind person.

"Sigh, alright."

Fanny knew that he could not change Ancient One's decision. He could only sigh and hope that there would be a chance in the future to change Kaecilius.

"Fanny, you could not always think to escape danger. You must work to solve the danger instead," Ancient One said softly, "I believe in you. You can find a solution no matter how difficult it would be."

Fanny secretly rolled his eyes dismissively. Back then, she had said that he would have such a great influence on the world. It had been a year, yet he hadn't accomplished any world-changing feat.

"I got it." Fanny nodded solemnly. He hadn't even solved the matter with Abomination, and now the threat of Kaecilius emerged. Fortunately, this threat should still be brewing for a few more years.

After bidding farewell to Ancient One, Fanny secretly observed Kaecilius.

He had to say, Kaecilius had a unique charm. Despite the grief and sorrow on his face, it still exuded a rebellious aura.

Fanny avoided getting close to Kaecilius for the time being. Kaecilius also avoided others, as if alienating himself.

Fanny recalled Doctor Strange, the successor chosen by Ancient One. Before he was ready, Ancient One would not step down from her duty.

When he thought about Doctor Strange, he couldn't help but compare his magical talent to himself. After studying for a while, he hadn't made any progress in his research on astral magic.

Would he have to shave his head?!
