25 Fourth Skill

Mordo stood confidently on the training grounds, waiting for Fanny to equip the 'Demon Armor Incursio.' He didn't notice the change in the armor.

It was quite hard to miss, as the changes were subtle. The bright silver became a little dull, but there were faint white and cyan snowflakes scattered across the surface.

"Are you ready?" Mordo asked, confident with his prepared method.

"Come!" Fanny replied, the power of the armor flowing in his body.

Fanny's body became translucent as if dissolving into the air and then disappeared entirely.

Mordo missed his attack initiative as he saw Fanny disappear. Invisibility spell wasn't unknown to Kamar-Taj, but it was pretty rare. Thus, there was no straightforward method to break them.

Fortunately, Mordo's combat experience kicked in. He switched his offensive stance to defensive, carefully listening to the movement around him.

Fanny silently praised Mordo's appropriate response.

Fanny had only obtained the stealth ability a short while ago, so he wasn't very skilled with it yet. It would only take a little attention to track him down. Also, the stealth ability consumed a large portion of his stamina and cannot be maintained for a long time.

"Looks like I really won't be able to beat him."

Fanny was a little disappointed that he couldn't defeat Mordo in a single move, but he didn't dwell on it. He carefully approached with his invisibility.

On the other side, Mordo was also very nervous. He wanted to save face after boasting so much. If people discover that he was beaten in an instant, the shame would follow him for a lifetime.

"Here!"

Mordo utilized his combat experience to the full extent. He immediately approximated Fanny's location and sent a whip of magical energy at him.

Fanny had no option other than jump. Mordo immediately discovered him again when he landed and continued with relentless attacks.

After exchanging blows, Fanny ultimately failed to defeat Mordo. He used up all his stamina while being invisible and lost.

Despite the result, Fanny was delighted. If he had a better grasp on the stealth ability's stamina consumption, the result might change. This was proof that he had improved.

More importantly, he would be able to extract the fourth skill after filling the experience bar!

Mordo secretly heaved a sigh of relief at this result. He had successfully saved his face. He then felt happy about Fanny's improvement.

Fanny had only been training for a year, yet he almost defeated Mordo in a spar. Although Fanny didn't use any of the spells he trained for, his pure physical combat strength almost matched Mordo's.

"I don't have that armor, so I can't slack off in the magic training." Feeling abandoned without knowing the truth, Mordo silently decided to work hard and not let Fanny surpass him in terms of magic.

"Here!" Fanny released 'Demon Armor Incursio' after the spar ended and casually summoned two 'Sumire Karaage Rolls.' He walked to Mordo's side to hand one of the chicken rolls and asked, "It seems that Master is rarely here these days."

Mordo returned to reality after receiving the chicken roll. He replied, "Master Ancient One should be investigating the location of a magical artifact right now."

Speaking of magic equipment, Fanny remembered the cloak on the second floor of New York's sanctuary. He recalled that Ancient One said something about the cloak being feisty, but why did it ignore him? He was much more handsome than Doctor Strange.

Ancient One's absence was the final factor in Fanny's decision to give up asking her about the skill extraction—although it was mainly because he still didn't know how to persuade her.

After treating Mordo to a full fried chicken package, Fanny opened the portal and returned home.

Like last time, he took a bath, washed his hands before sitting on the bed, and prayed, "Please be a good skill!"

Fanny had tried to use 'Ars Magna' to cheat on his third extraction, but it didn't succeed.

After a year of training and learning about magical powers, his understanding of 'Ars Magna' had deepened. He was sure that the skill could not directly affect the extraction system. However, he could influence the system indirectly by using the skill on himself.

"In the next three seconds, my luck will greatly increase."

Luck was an abstract concept and could sway between good and bad luck. This kind of concept was very, very, very difficult to grasp because Fanny didn't want it to manifest in a specific direction.

What does "improved luck" even look like?!

It would be easy to have "good luck" manifest as finding a large amount of money, winning the lottery, or talking to a beauty on the road, but he couldn't rely on such a specified form of luck to get a good skill from the extraction system.

Thus, he formulated an idea to use a very abstract concept of "good luck" that wasn't tied down by specific events.

The knowledge of magic helped him greatly in manifesting this abstract concept. This would also be the first time he had relied on true magical power to supplement 'Ars Magna.'

Fanny channeled his energy to 'Ars Magna' after reciting the order to improve his luck.

An indescribable feeling filled his entire body. There's no time to think. He took a second to enter the system, a second to extract the skill, and waited for the result for the third second.

Exhaustion swept through his entire body, but Fanny was very excited. Although the stamina consumption of this order was worse than opening a portal for an entire day, it was well worth the skill that he extracted.

The fourth skill came from an anime world that he was more familiar with.

"Sky Dance"

Source: "Dragon Balls"

Description: "One of the signature martial arts of the Crane School."

Dragon Balls was an anime with the potential to destroy an entire universe in the later episode. It wasn't at the level of the supreme skill Ultra Instinct, but Sky Dance was still worthy of celebration.

After all, many humans have pursued the ability to fly since time immemorial, and Fanny was one of them.

The description for Sky Dance mentioned that it was the signature martial arts of the Crane School, but it was really the essential ability of all strong characters. The only ones without that ability were trash weaklings with power levels of 5.

Fanny couldn't hold his excitement as he stared at the Sky Dance ability in the system. He had been a little worried about aerial combat, but now he had patched a major weakness.

Fanny couldn't wait to test it out. Since Sky Dance wasn't a particularly dangerous skill, he decided to test it out despite his fatigue.

He activated the skill in his room, not bothering to even go outside. Fanny's body began to float. No matter how he flailed, his stability was unaffected.

The novel experience refreshed him. He was pleasantly surprised that the Sky Dance required almost no stamina to activate.

There was special energy called "qi" in the world of Dragon Balls. The Sky Dance of the Crane School relied on the control of qi to break off from gravity's shackles and move freely in the air.

Fanny had not cultivated his qi, but perhaps the system compensated for it due to the status as a skill. He could use the free qi energy from the environment, so he didn't have to expend his own stamina.

This would mean that if he got stranded in a place without qi energy, he wouldn't be able to fly with Sky Dance.

Unfortunately, he could only use the power to gather qi energy for the Sky Dance technique and can't use it for Kamehameha like Goku.
