71 Chapter 61

Miles p.o.v.

'What now?' I wondered dumbstruck as I glanced around myself. The entity referred to as Entropy had disappeared moments after that crazy looking scythe entered his body without any resistance.

The man lowered his hand and the scythe slowly turned into light particles before disappearing.

'What is he gonna do now?' Everyone probably had the same thought in their minds.

Narrative P.O.V.

Kar-el took a deep breath in silence to compose his emotions as everyone around him warily glanced at him. Even though his body had not grown tired after fighting against a universal entity, his mind sure had.

The clash between him and entropy had resulted in many positive changes in him. Even though kar-el was strong, he never had the opportunity to use his powers to their utmost potential which stunned his growth.

Just because someone was capable of running faster than a bullet train did not mean they could run that fast without ever trying. Honing their skills and abilities was as important as having them in the first place.

This battle gave him the opportunity to get used to his powers as a personification. But this was the first time he had spent more than a century doing nothing but fighting against his opponent in the void. It made him mentally tired.

It should be noted that unlike Entropy, kar-el was not born as a being that had such a long lifespan that a century was nothing but a moment in his life. First and foremost, he was a human. Even though that was a long time ago, his mentality was still human even now.

After a minute or two, he somewhat calmed down and looked around.

His vision changed and what appeared before him was a group of spiderman and the portal from which he came into this dimension while chasing Entropy. His first priority was to close the portal to stop it from damaging this dimension any further.

His eyes slowly glowed blue before a beam of light shot from them that destroyed the machine that was responsible for creating the portal. The portal still did not disappear as it had already started to power itself from the dimensional energies in the void between dimensions.

"STOP!!!", A scream filled with despair sounded from the laboratory that controlled the portal. Kar-el looked inside the window and found a massive man wearing white formal coat looking at him in fury and terror.

Realizing that the monster in the human body heard him, Wilson started to talk.

"I.. I do not know who and what you are but the portal must function until I get my Vanessa back. No one.. NO ONE.. will interfere." He banged his fists on the glass as he screamed bloody murder at Kar-el.

Kar-el stared at him for a few seconds before ignoring him altogether as he faced the portal once again.

Rising into the air, he slowly neared the portal.

"STOP.. I SAID STOP!!!", He ignored the screams as he raised his hands.

"Hey cape guy.", A web sling latched on Kar-el's hand as a feminine voice addressed him from behind. While the force behind the web sling was not enough to stop him if he wanted to, it at least got his attention.

He turned around to find that the group of spidermen finally stopped acting as statues.

"You see, we don't have any problem with you closing the portal but it is the only way for some of us to return back to our homes." Spider-Gwen stated while trying to appear as peaceful as possible. She could tell from the intensity her spider sense was ringing that if they tried to fight him, their loss was inevitable. Plus, he did look to be on the good side from how he was about to close the portal and made that purple abomination disappear.

"You won't be able to do anything with this spatial crack now. To escape from me, Entropy connected this crack to the battlefield we were fighting in. At that place, none of you will survive.", He raised his hand at the portal and slowly closed it into a fist. A beam made up of encrypted unknown characters escaped from it and merged with the space around the portal.

Slowly, the space around the portal started to repair itself with the help of the beam and the portal slowly became smaller and smaller before completely disappearing.

As Gwen looked at the portal closing before her very eyes, the last hope of returning to her world disappeared.

'I guess we're all gonna die then.', She thought as she looked at all the different versions of spiderman.

Since the most glaring problem had been fixed, Kar-el shifted his focus on to the next glaring problem. He did not forget that he started this dimensional journey to complete a wish of Then and Now and it was time to complete that wish.

By entering into this dimension, all of these spiderman versions had started an event known as incursion of realms. The longer they stayed in this dimension, the faster it would happen.

Kar-el moved at extreme speed from where he was floating and appeared before Spider-Ham and pushed him back. As he fell backwards, A crack connecting to his home dimension opened and swallowed him up before once again closing.

This happened in a fraction of a second and kar-el repeated this with the Spider Variations until only Miles remained standing.

All Miles saw was a blur and his friends disappeared right in front of his eyes.

"PETER, GWEN!!! what did you do to them?" Miles hastily asked kar-el.

"I fulfilled their wishes." Kar-el calmly remarked.

"The longer they stayed in this world, the more problematic the situation would have gotten. This favor was not for free though. In the future you guys will have to do something for me in exchange." Kar-el told him as another portal opened up and he walked inside of it.

"Make sure to carry the legacy of your predecessor until then, miles morales." Kar-el said smiling before the portal closed completely.

Land of between places

Peace and quiet was the norm in this realm so to speak. Only in some millennia did something happen that destroyed the status quo. Today was a day just like that.

A crack materialized in some corner of this land and Kar-el walked out of it in his casual clothes with his hands in his hoodie's pocket. Gone was the majestic hue that he adorned sometime ago in front of miles and an enthusiastic smile was present on his lips as he looked around at the distant dimensions scattered in the land of between places.

"I see now why those two brats put such importance on these heroes", He was talking about Now and Then who asked him to protect the home worlds of Miles and his associates.

Unknowingly, Miles' friends started a chain reaction between their and his world that would lead to an event known as Incursion of worlds. They would have not realized this until much later on as they blissfully returned to their worlds.

Both Now and Then live in a place called the house of Ideas.

'The "House of Ideas" is a library which archives the exploits of every hero who has ever existed in the form of books, written unconsciously by the collective minds of their believers. This collection is curated by Now and Then, two of the children of Eternity.' Kar-el remembered.

Due to them usually living in the library for most of their time, they had developed a hobby of giving wishes to their favorite heroes. Miles was one of such heroes. He would most likely ask for a wish from the twins in a distant future. As both of them are personifications of time to an extent. It was easy for them to know the future. To protect that future or to fulfill Miles' wish, they must stop the incursion from happening.

But they were incapable of stopping such an event as their authority did not give them power over space. The reason why they approached Kar-el was likely due to that.

He was capable of stopping the event from happening as all that he needed to do was to use his own authority to change the rules a bit that led to the incursion.

They did not have any chip in their hands that they could use in return for their father's help. That left only a few abstract entities that could help them with this issue including kar-el and some of their siblings. Unlike their siblings he could be reasoned with and asking for his favor was much easier as the bargaining chips would cost a lot lower.

All they had to do was help him with his new found powers and he would most likely fulfill their wish.

"Well i am definitely going on a long vacation after i am done with this." Kar-el muttered with a wry smile on his face as he stretched his arms and legs.

"Let's get this over with." His eyes and hands started to glow in unknown encrypted symbols as he looked at the world's that belonged to Miles and his friends.

He could notice them slowly getting closer to each other.

3 months later, kar-el main world

Stark Building

"I am Iron Man", Tony proudly looked at the flabbergasted expression everyone had after he dropped the bombshell and ended up smirking.

'That's how it should be. Tony Stark has returned.' Tony thought to himself in silence before the said silence got broken by every reporter screaming questions at him one after another.

Meanwhile in a silent corner of the hall, a man and 2 women were sitting calmly observing all of this. They were Kar-el, charmcaster and Serena in disguise.

"He sure knows how to make an entrance.", Kar-el muttered in an amused tone. Observing Tony doing his shenanigans was one of Kar-el's hobbies as they happened to be very entertaining.

"You are also quite a charmer yourself doing the first impressions", Serena replied back.

"I have to agree with her on that, My liege", Charmcaster nodded her head seriously.

Kar-el scratched his cheek with a wry smile due to her behavior.

"That was sarcasm, charmcaster", He muttered to himself such that only he could hear it. She took her duties as one of his subordinates quite literally. Unlike Serena who was very open with him as she had been with him since her creation and known him since his time as Jor-el's assistant, charmcaster had only known him as an abstract entity.

Due to her knowledge of mystic arts, She was well aware of the fickle nature Abstract beings have. She had a reverence and awe for his very being and was afraid of unintentionally angering me. Due to which, She was in his opinion too faithful in her approach in how to serve him.

If he would compare her with Serena, then Serena was like the butler that had been serving him for more than 30 years and now could easily banter with him and the charmcaster would be the newly hired common maid that does everything by the book.

"Is he aware about what happened in his absence?", Kar-el asked while looking at Tony signing autographs.

"Not yet. Tomorrow's board of directors meeting would surely be a surprise for him." Serena casually answered with a devilish smirk on her face.

"It will be a good motivation for him. Since he is on his high horse right now, he is more prone to make misjudgments. It is important that we have contingent plans for any mishaps that might arrive because of that.", Kar-el said standing up as they walked on the opposite side from Tony.

"As your wish. I guess it is about time you emerge from the shadows." Serena nodded before parting ways as she entered into her own car while Kar-el and Charmcaster entered in their own car and drove farther away.
