81 Chapter 079 Kalisus

Chapter 079

In the Tower of Eraskis, Alex was locked in an intense battle with the Wyvern of ice 'Kalisus'. All around him, a cold mist was blowing and his clothes had a dusting of snow on them.

The fight had already been going on for more than half an hour and it had been a close contest until now.

Alex had managed to injure the wings of Kalisus, making it stay on the ground. With its body size, it was easy for Alex to attack it.

After all, Kalisus couldn't run anywhere.

It was the price it had to pay for its enormous size. And Alex took complete advantage of it and Kalisus' attack power started to drop lower and lower as the battle went on.

Currently, the dragon-like creature was forming ice missiles around itself. This was the attack that had killed most of its opponents.

But as the missiles got launched, Alex activated his bullet time and dodged the attacks with precise movements and his wolf standing next to him fired an energy blast from its mouth.

Kalisus tried to block the energy blast with magic. Dragons were masters of magic and wyverns had inherited the art from them. Though, they weren't able to use even 10 percent of the magic that could be used by the dragons.

Proving that, the energy blast destroyed the ice wall created by Kalisus and hit it's neck and a painful cry came out.

'This is my chance.'

Alex thought and his wolf enveloped his body, strengthening him even more. 

Then, pushing energy into his legs and with lightning on the tip of his blade, he rushed towards Kalisus.

The wyvern saw this and tried to block Alex's path but it was all futile.

He dodged the ice beams and spikes with precise and clean moments.

Kalisus became angrier and angrier seeing this and a hint of fear seeped into its heart. As if the challenger before him might really defeat him.

Thinking that, Kalisus began to form a spell above it's head. Flying was not possible due to its wings being injured and it had no choice but to go all out.

In an instant, a large sphere of ice that could freeze anything in the world formed above Kalisus' head.

'He's going all out.'

Alex thought and immediately unleashed the skill that he has gotten recently.

Notifications popped up in front of him as he focused on his power.

[You have used the skill 'Berserk'.]

[Your powers have gone up by 250 percent for the next 2 minutes.]

[You won't be able to move for an hour after using this power.]

Like it's description, Berserk is a skill that has a lot of restrictions and his body has to endure a lot to use this skill.

But it was all worth it.

After all, so much increase in his powers was basically overkill and he was sure that he would be able to kill Kalisus with Berserk.

'Ah, fuck, my body is burning!'

Alex cursed as he felt his body becoming hotter and hotter. At the same time, he could feel the growing power inside of him.

It felt like the power would explode inside of him and he did his best to keep it in control.

He glanced up to look at the sphere of ice that kept getting bigger and bigger. Suddenly, Kalisus's eyes flashed and it launched the ice sphere at Alex.

He wasn't afraid and moved the power in his body into his sword. Lightning crackled and his wolf enveloped it, giving it the necessary durability.

Finally, he jumped up and the sphere of ice and Alex's sword met in mid air.

Then it all went white.

Smiling at the notifications, Alex moved his gaze up to see the body of Kalisus turning into red shards and disappearing. Now that he had cleared Level 6, only the top parts awaited him.

He wondered what would be the challenge ahead of him but his body couldn't move.

'The side effect of Berserk.'

He frowned thinking about it and collapsed onto the ground.

It was almost impossible to move his body and he needed to wait for an hour before he could move on.

"The skill is powerful but this is so annoying…"

Alex muttered and closed his eyes.

In the Joint Dark Energy facility, both Shield and Nasa scientists were working hard to study the tesseract and till now, they had made some fascinating discoveries.

But it was really hard to control the input and output of the power as the energy fluctuations were really wild.

There were already protocols in place in case they needed to evacuate the place.

Currently, Clint Barton, one of Shields top agents and codenamed Hawkeye was talking to Eric Selvig.

"Are you really okay?" Clint asked, looking over at Eric's face. "You are not sleeping much and I heard that you were seen talking to yourself in your room."

These days, Eric's behavior was getting weirder and weirder. One of the reasons Clint was sent here was also to monitor him.

"I'm fine." Eric shook his head. "I'm just too busy with the research and… lonely. I just miss my wife and kids."

"I can understand that. But tell me if there's anything strange. We need you if the project is to be successful."

Eric smiled like he understood. Suddenly, his eyes changed a bit as he opened his eyes.

"I understand, agent. By the way, you were there in New Mexico too, right?"

Clint nodded his head, not realising that the question wasn't exactly asked by Eric but the power that was controlling him from the shadows.

Loki continued to control Eric and awaited the moment when he could reveal himself to the world and rule over the mortals.
