71 Chapter 069 The Lizard attack

Chapter 069

It was just a normal day in Midtown high for most people. Most teenagers were happy to see their crushes, the history class was boring and the lunch was again going to taste like it was made a week ago.

But it all changed when a giant lizard burst out of the girls bathroom.

It started with a little rumbling and soon, The Lizard broke the bathroom's door to appear in the hallway. A scream went out as all the students stared at him with horrified eyes before starting to run towards the exit.

"What the fuck??"

"There's a monster here!"

"Run towards the exit!"

Frantic shouts came out from the students and there were only two people who were calm when The Lizard appeared.

"Like I said, it will be here sooner or later." Alex said as people rushed past him running for their lives.

"Yeah, what's the plan?"

"Give me the antidote and keep him busy till I make sure everyone is out of the school."

"Hurry up then."

Peter said and passed the antidote serum to him.

As Alex started to run to ensure that everyone had left their classes, Peter stared at the giant creature.

"Peter!"

The Lizard hissed his name as it smirked at him. Then, without wasting any time, it charged at him and Peter did the same.

It swung its fist and Peter slid under it and avoided it. Then, he adjusted the web shooters on his hands and fired at The Lizard's hand, holding him in place.

With some effort, The Lizard freed his hand from the web and again ran towards Peter.

Knowing that it wasn't a good decision to fight in the hallways, he ran towards the cafeteria on the left.

"Peter, you shouldn't be trying to stop me! I can change humankind for the better." The Lizard shouted, running after Peter.

With every dosage of the serum, he was able to talk better and better, even a fairly oblivious person could notice the change.

In an effort to get Dr. Connors to listen to him, Peter shouted back, "Doc, you're not thinking straight. Please just give up."

"I won't. Not when I've already gotten this far!"

It roared with a crazy smile that would surely give children nightmares for months.

Peter and The Lizard kept going on with their Tom and Jerry chase for a while, but eventually, The Lizard caught up to him and held his head in his claws.

Grinning, he sent him flying down to the left. Peter crashed into the wall and rolled on the floor of the school's laboratory.

'Fuck, where's Alex?'

He cursed in his mind and slowly stood up. Turning back, he looked at The Lizard who didn't give him any time to breathe.

With a swish, it attacked Peter with its claws. He jumped back to dodge it and used his webs to throw a table at the monster.

The table smashed into The Lizard and parts of it flew around. But it just smiled at the pain and roared.

"I'm stronger now. You can't hurt me with just that!"

"But I can!"

Someone yelled from behind it and before it could even turn around, an energy blast landed on it's back, causing it excruciating pain. 

It staggered and fell down on a table as Peter smiled to see Alex in his costume standing there with his wolf behind him.

"You took a long time." Peter said.

"Some stupid couples were making out, so I had to scare them away. Anyway, let's end this. I'm pretty tired of seeing it's ugly face."

"Okay, I'll hold him back. You inject the antidote."

"Sure, no problem!"

Alex pulled his sword out of his inventory as The Lizard slowly stood up. It's back had some serious wounds but they were already healing, thanks to it's regenerative ability.

Because of the attack, it was fuming with rage as it glanced between Peter and Alex.

'He was the one who stopped me on the bridge and in the sewers. I have to kill him.'

'Yes, no matter what, kill him!'

In The Lizard's mind, there were voices that were commanding it to kill Alex. Following their orders, it rushed at Alex, wanting to take off his head.

Alex and Peter counterattacked and in an instant, a shockwave swept up the laboratory, breaking many lab equipment and scattering the test tubes onto the floor.

The Lizard attacked with his claws and tail and Alex intercepted with his sword. Behind him, Peter was using his webs to keep the tail in check and his wolf was protecting him from any serious injuries.

"Rawrrr!"

The Lizard roared as it furiously tried to kill Alex.

He was barely able to block its attacks with his sword, his wolf saving him from some of the blows.

It's tail rushed at his head but Peter used his webs to stop it and jumped at it, but with a swing, he was thrown back into the wall.

'We need to end this.'

He thought as he took a step back and activated his bullet time. Time seemed to slow down around him as the attacks became slow to his eyes.

He jumped to dodge the tail and commanded his wolf to leave his body. The wolf followed his commands and leaped at The Lizard.

It was surprised when the wolf suddenly leapt at it and wasn't able to shake it off. The Lizard fell to the ground with Alex's wolf on top of him.

"Peter now!"

It's hands and tail tried to throw away the wolf, but Peter used his webs to tie it down to the ground.

Finally getting the opportunity, Alex took out the antidote from his inventory and directly slammed the tip down on the Lizard's right hand.

"Rawwwwwww!"

A loud scream that broke the windows sounded out as his wolf was slammed into the walls. Peter was next to The Lizard and tried to keep it in check, but his webs didn't work.

The Lizard kept screaming as it rushed at Alex, a mad rage hovering over his head.

It was only because of his bullet time that he was able to dodge them but after a minute or so, the attacks lost their intensity.

'It's finally working!'

He smiled as he let out a sigh of relief.
