29 Chapter 29 - Abominable [2]

As Bruce approached the battlefield, Prime and Sara faced the monster. When the creature lunged at Prime, he raised a temporary shield using his symbiote arm. However, gradually, he was pushed back by the force of the attack.

With another tentacle, Prime grabbed a car and threw it towards the monster, which was flung along with the vehicle several houses back. Utilizing his tentacles again, Prime seized two more cars and hurled them at the monster, which, this time, simply destroyed them with sheer brute force.

"Hahaha, is that all you got?"

Mocked the monster with a smile on its face, challenging Prime by gesturing with its hands. In response, Prime began to run towards the monster, which also advanced. Passing by people running terrified down the street, Prime and the monster collided in mid-air, transforming their hands into two hammers. Prime delivered a precise blow to the monster's head.

Prime's impact left the monster stunned, and as they both touched the ground, Prime quickly turned, unleashing a series of blows on the fallen monster. Then, using his tentacles, Prime grabbed the creature's leg and threw it towards a building.

As the building debris fell onto the monster, Prime pondered his options. The first one, undoubtedly, would be a bad choice - killing the creature. Even though he could eliminate the threat, Prime knew that taking a life in front of people would result in fear and distrust. He didn't mind killing the creature, but he wanted to avoid doing it in front of so many witnesses.

"I guess we'll go with plan B then"

Said Prime. Hearing these words, Sara, confused, inquired,

"We had a plan B? I thought we entered the fight without any plan"

While Sara spoke, a loud roar echoed from afar, capturing everyone's attention. Both Prime and the monster knew very well to whom that roar belonged.

"Hulk!"

Pronounced the monster with a smile on its face. Saying this, the creature stood up and began to run between the buildings, knocking down walls and heading towards Hulk. Prime, on the other hand, just watched the scene with a look of doubt on his face.

"So his name was Hulk?"

Said Prime. Hearing this, Sara mentally rolled her eyes, thinking that Prime had the strangest timing to be curious about something.

"Prime, we need to go NOW"

Said Sara. Quickly, Prime began leaping between the buildings, following the monster running towards Hulk. Prime witnessed when the creature jumped onto Hulk and threw him back several meters.

Hulk, after being thrown, slowly got up while staggering. Prime clearly heard the monster's taunts, and shortly after, Hulk split a police car in half, using both parts as improvised gloves.

Thus, the monster began to move slowly towards Hulk, starting to run afterward. However, it was quickly halted when four tentacles, two on its arms and two on its legs, held it. Looking back, the monster saw Prime holding him, and before it could react, Hulk began to mercilessly beat it.

As Hulk delivered his blows, Prime quickly released his tentacles, causing the monster to be thrown towards a nearby car with Hulk's overwhelming force. Then, Hulk repeatedly struck the monster's face while it remained on the ground, resulting in the breaking of its gloves.

Just before Hulk could hit it again, the monster reacted quickly, delivering a powerful kick that sent Hulk flying towards a building. Then, the monster ran towards the building where Hulk was thrown, trying to locate him. However, as it looked inside, Prime noticed the approach of a helicopter.

Immediately, the helicopter initiated an intense sequence of shots against the monster. With his keen vision, Prime identified Dr. Elizabeth inside the aircraft. While Prime watched the monster climb the building in astonishment, Sara called his attention.

"Prime!"

When he heard Sara calling his name, Prime quickly pulled himself together.

"I know"

He said. Uttering this, Prime began a run across the buildings, seeking to get closer to the helicopter before the monster. As the aircraft pursued the monster, it continued running across the rooftops until it was close enough to make a leap.

Prime noticed Elizabeth at the helicopter window; they exchanged glances for a few seconds before a roar echoed. In the blink of an eye, Hulk dashed by, and when the monster leaped onto the helicopter, Hulk grabbed its leg, trying to make it let go of the aircraft.

As the two battled, Prime used one of its tentacles to wrap around the monster's neck. With this, the creature finally released the helicopter. Unfortunately, the aircraft had already been damaged, forcing it a landing.

After the helicopter crashed, Prime approached and watched as Hulk stood up, seemingly unharmed. However, the same could be said for the monster that emerged from the helicopter. Again, Prime thrust its tentacles at the monster, but it, anticipating the attack, grabbed Prime's tentacle and threw it with all its force against a wall.

"Ugh, it seems like this attack won't have as much effect anymore"

While Prime recovered, Hulk and the monster engaged in a confrontation. The monster pressed Hulk against the wall, while he struggled to break free, with little success.

"You are not worthy of this power. Now, watch as she dies"

As the monster uttered these words, its back became completely vulnerable. Prime, who had recovered, launched itself at the creature. In the midst of adrenaline, Prime didn't notice when its claws started emitting a green liquid. All it could think at that moment was that it somehow wanted to weaken the monster. By piercing the creature's flesh, Prime gradually realized that it was injecting something, causing progressive weakening.

Although not fully understanding what was happening, Hulk sensed an opportunity. Using all his strength, he collided his head with the monster's, leaving it stunned for a few seconds. Then, Hulk pushed the monster's head against the wall.

At that moment, the helicopter where Elizabeth was located began to be engulfed in flames. Upon realizing the situation, Hulk acted promptly, interrupting the fire's spread by clapping his hands and generating a violent wave of wind and sound.

This incident distracted Prime and Hulk, but a strange feeling struck Prime. When he turned around, something like a chain came towards him, throwing him several meters away.

Prime and Hulk were hit by an extremely powerful blow, leaving them disoriented for a few seconds. These precious seconds were enough for the monster to initiate its attack against everyone on the helicopter.

"General, what are your last words?"

However, before the monster could advance with its plan, Hulk rose again and, with both arms raised, pronounced.

"Hulk, smash!" 

Uttering these words, Hulk slammed both arms on the ground, causing the earth to open towards the monster, trapping its feet in the ground. Then, using the chains that were with the monster, Hulk began to strangle it.

"Prime, he's going to kill him" 

Exclaimed Sara. Hearing her words, Prime finally forced his body to stand up to witness the scene. While pondering what to do, a voice caught attention at the scene.

"Stop!"

Upon seeing Elizabeth, Hulk seemed to regain consciousness and, immediately after, released the monster. At that moment, several police officers and military personnel arrived at the area, pointing their weapons at Prime and Hulk.

"It seems like our time here is over" 

Said Prime. Uttering these words, he cast a final glance at Elizabeth, who approached Hulk, before starting to leap between buildings, pursued by a helicopter.
