3. High School

I woke up early the next day hungry, of course. Typical Saiyan metabolism.

I immediately went to my mirror and measured my height.

Yes! I grew half a centimeter! Just a few dozen more and I'll be average height!

I dash to get my stuff ready and into my backpack, the I check the time.

5:45 AM. School starts at 7PM. I got time.

Time for what, you ask? Time for ki blast practice.

I change into an all orange track suit and cover my face with a matching balaclava. I don't want any S.H.E.I.L.D drones spotting my face, since Cap hadn't dealt with HYDRA yet. Though, they probably already know about my suspicious origins.

I open my window and blast off, trying to go as fast as my Ki control would let me. I'd say I'm as fast as a bullet train, now, around 200 miles per hour. I'm always aiming for faster, though.

I wish DBZ went into more detail of Goku's instant transmission technique, but I'll have to do without that info and just keep practicing on it.

After flying for about 2 minutes, I land on a deserted plain. I use this plain to practice my ki blasts, not those shitty 'spam triangle' ki blasts from the game, but stuff like Kamehamehas or Galik Guns. Of course I have a few of my own.

The first one I made is called 'Sun Ray'. Shitty name, I know, but it looks pretty cool, at least to me. Sun Ray is a ki blast that I form into a small yellow ball atop my finger, similar to Frieza's planet buster move, but instead of sending the ball towards an enemy, it blasts a small concentrated ray when I point it at people.

My second ki blast is called 'Torpedo'. It's pretty basic. I send a ki blast through the ground and it travels to an enemy and explodes.

My last one is called 'Fallen Star'. I know, I know, it's another cringe name, but the move is cool enough. It's basically Majin Vegeta's suicide attack, but without the suicide part. It should be useful if I ever have to face multiple weaker enemies.

And of course I have successfully copied multiple moves from DBZ, which includes; Kamehameha wave, Galik Gun, Final Flash, Dodon Wave, Big Bang Attack, Masenko, and possibly the coolest move in my opinion, Destructo Disc.

All these moves took me 5 years to master, but of course, they're not as strong as in the anime due to my low power level. Still, it's nice to actually do these moves in reality.

*Beep Beep* My watch's alarm rang

Oh, shit. I'm gonna be late for school.

I flew into the air and dashed back home, arriving in two minutes.

I entered my rooms window as soon as I heard a knock at my door. I quickly removed my track suit and was in the middle of changing into more casual clothing when Gwen entered.

"God! Why don't you just anwser the-" Gwen complained before stopping, noticing Arthur in his underwear, his extremely toned and lean body in full view.

Gwen's face turned red and she quickly apologized for barging in and left.

Heh, she's a growing girl, alright.

I quickly changed into slim fit jeans and a short sleeve white t-shirt two sizes too big for me to hide my tail that's wrapped neatly on my waist like a belt.

Showing my ripped arms might just keep the bullies away. Probably not Flash Thompson, though, considering that he might make fun of my height even if I have some muscle.

"Arthur! You ready?! You better be!" George yelled from down stairs.

Since George is still busy helping the NYPD here and there, he has no time to cook breakfast, so he just gives me and Gwen some pocket money to buy breakfast at school.

"I'll be right down, Dad!" I responded.

Grabbing my bookbag and exiting my room, I walk down the stairs beside Gwen.

"Liked what you saw, Gwen?" I teased.

"Shut your mouth, Arthur. You're still short." Gwen retorted, her face slightly flushed.

"Only a matter of time, my dear sister. I'll be taller than you soon enough." I said.

"Oh, yeah? Wanna make a bet? If your not taller than me in six months, you do whatever I tell you for the rest of the year." Gwen said as she smiled with confidence.

"Hmm... fine, but if I grow taller than you in that time, you'll have to go on dates with me when I ask for the next six months." I said.

"Deal! Hah, get ready to be my slave, Little Man, because even if you have a growth spurt, there's no way you'll grow 8 inches in half a year! A full year, maybe, but half? Think again! I've got probability on my side." Gwen lauded herself.

"We'll see, dear sister, we'll see." I said with a big grin on my face.

Hehehe, don't underestimate sudden growth from a Saiyan, you pretty human!

We made it out the front door with George already in the car.

"Let's go! I haven't got all morning!" George said with a smile.

Gwen and I get inside, me in the back, and Gwen in the front. Her excuse was that I was too small for the front, but I didn't care. I liked the extra room in the back anyway.

Most of the ride was silent or of small conversations initiated by George about school and stuff. I tuned most of it out.

We arrived to school 30 minutes before classes start, which gave me enough time to get enough breakfast in my stomach to last me until lunch time.

"Good luck on your first day, Arthur! Don't get into trouble." George said as he pulled his car into reverse and drove off.

"You know where your classes are, right?" Gwen asked.

"Of course I do. I'm not dumb." I said.

"Oh, I'm sure you aren't." Gwen added sarcastically. "I'm gonna go see my friends. See you later, Arthur." She continued.

"See you. Have fun." Arthur said.

I watched Gwen leave while glancing at her ass. God damn.

I didn't stare too long though, so I went inside the school and made my way to the cafeteria to eat breakfast.

Luckily for me, today's breakfast was eggs and toast. The protein will help make me feel full.

I filled my tray with as much breakfast as the lunch lady would let me, went to an empty table and started digging in.

It was okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't all good either. It's plain ol' school lunch.

There was quite a few people looking at me and the mountain of eggs I had. I bet they thought I was weird. I can just make the excuse that I have very high metabolism.

After finishing my eggs and throwing away the paper plate, I went to the main school hallway and went to my class. I don't think I'll see any familiar faces since I'll be I a freshman class, as opposed to Gwen's class, which likely has Peter, MJ (in the future), Flash, Harry, and Felicia Hardy (also in the future).

Since this is not Universe 616 anymore, things could change. Some characters might be younger or older. I'd skip ahead to be in the same year as Gwen, but I won't, because I want to enjoy highschool. No responsibility is the best.

I entered the classroom and took a seat near the back. No one seems to catch my eyes. As in, I don't recognize anyone.

I do spot a very pretty red headed girl though. She's sitting right next to me. How lucky for me. She doesn't seem to be talking to anyone, and seems kinda lonely. I'll try speaking to her. I'm not too confident in talking to girls, though. Gwen doesn't count since I grew up with her.

"Hey, you seem kinda down. Something wrong?" I asked with a friendly smile.

The girl jumped a little, startled. She turned to look at me.

"Oh... uh, sorry." She said timidly.

"No need to apologize. What's your name? I'm Arthur." I said.

"M-my name is J-Jean Grey. Nice to meet... you." She said.

Calm down, me. Calm down.

I try focusing all my Ki around my body, protecting it from any outside force, physical or mental.

(A/n: I tried searching up what kind of abilities can stop telepathy, but I couldn't find jack shit except Magneto's helmet, so I made Ki, different from Chi in Marvel, be able to interrupt/stop telepathy from affecting Arthur.)

"That's a pretty name. It matches your pretty face." I complimented.

Jean looked surprised at something from talking to me.

"... I can't hear his thoughts..." She whispered.

Yes! My Ki works as a barrier! Now I can think of dirty things in front of her. Not that I would... but she does have a nice body.

"What was that?" I asked.

"O-oh, it was nothing... Just speaking to myself..." Jean said.

"Haha! No need to speak with yourself when your friend is in front of you." I laughed.

"Huh? F-friend?" Jean asked, confused.

"Well, we exchanged names. So, we're friends now. Do you not want to be friends?" I asked.

"N-no! I mean, yes! I'll be friends with you!" Jean said loudly. She seems happy to not hear the inner thoughts of a person.

A few people in class looked at her weirdly. Jean lowered her head and blushed in embarrassment.

"Heh, your cute when your embarrassed." I teased.

Jean just lowered her head further and blushed harder.

"He... called me cute..." Jean whispered, not knowing I could hear her.

Before we could talk more, the homeroom teacher walks in and tells the class to settle down.

The teacher is some old woman. Boring. I wish it was at least a MILF. Oh well.

She starts explaining the usual things freshmen in high school need to know and ended homeroom early.

I look at my watch. It's 8:45 AM, 30 minutes until we have to change classes. My next class is math.

"So, Jean, you from around here? New York City, I mean." I asked.

"W-what? Oh, no. I'm from Annandale-on-Hudson... I moved here after... an accident." Jean said, trailing her words at the end, remembering something.

If I remember correctly, it was an accident which activated her powers when she was a little girl. Might've been something to do with seeing someone die or something along those lines.

I stare at Jean kindly.

"... Well, it's okay now, Jean. If you need to talk to someone whenever your feeling down, I'm here." I said as I pat her back.

"T-thanks..." Jean said her face a little red as she smiled.

"So! What class do you have next? I got math with a Mister... Mr. Rendell." I asked.

"Oh! I have him next too!" Jean smiled brightly.

"Great, we have the same two classes. Friends gotta stick together. What're you're next classes?" I asked.

We talked for the remaining time of homeroom and found that we share all classes except for one. So we both have the same homeroom, math class, science class, history class, english class, spanish class, and gym. We don't share art class.

A shame, too. I'm quite good at drawing. I was hoping to be paired with Jean when we draw other people. I could've gotten some brownie points with her. At least I get to see her gym outfit.

"Wow, we share almost all our classes. It's like we were meant to be friends" I said.

I didn't say that to be friends ones, mind you. I can't just hit on this timid girl when we just met. Teasing her by calling her cute only works the first time. If I repeat it, it'll come off as weird.

"Y-yeah. That would be nice..." Jean smiled.

Sheesh, she's incredibly cute.

The bell rung, signaling students to head to their next class.

"Wanna head to math together?" I offered.

"Yeah, sure!" Jean said.

We got up from our desks and walked out. I felt Jean's gaze on my face.

"... Go ahead, make fun of my height." I said, acting angry.

"Oh! No, I wasn't thinking of that! Sorry..." Jean said as she looked away.

"Then what were you thinking of when you looked at me? Did you think about how handsome I am?" I teased.

"..." Jean just said nothing and looked to the side.

I didn't miss her cheeks turning red, though. It's nice to know that she thinks I'm good looking.

I think I'm going to enjoy high school more than I expected. Thank you, the Universe! Thank you for putting Jean Grey in my class! And fuck you for making her suffer in the begining by having her carry the Phoenix!
