8 Start making money

Zod walked into the Midnight Hotel.

"Mister Heath Zod, it is an honor for you to visit our hotel."

The hotel receptionist said with a smile.

"You said the weapon I ordered is here for me?"

Zod nodded, then asked.

"It's at the armory with the gunsmith now." Said the receptionist.

Midnight Hotel provides various services. Gunsmiths are responsible for selling or customizing weapons. There are also doctors, informants and so on.

Zod took the elevator to the third basement floor.

After the elevator door opened, a dazzling array of firearms came into view. Pistols, assault rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns and even a portable mini-gun.

Many people in suits are standing next to the gun racks with name cards pinned to their chest. Most of these gunsmiths are retired workers from military factories, or simply retired bigshots with military background.

"Mister Heath Zod, please follow me."

One of the gunsmiths who had been notified by the front desk a long time ago walked over.

"I didn't know my gunsmith would be such a beautiful woman."

Zod complimented her.

"My name is Kayla."

The other party smiled satisfied, then stretched out her hand for a handshake. This is mainly because the person who praised her was Zod with a good-looking face, otherwise Kayla would be indifferent when other people say it.

"Nice to meet you."

Zod held the other party's hand and then intended to pull away like a gentleman, but Kayla grasped his hand tightly before releasing.

Is this woman interested in me?

Zod understood and didn't mind the other party's attitude.

Kayla took him to one of the gun cabinets and grabbed a silver case to set on the table nearby. After opening it she said,

"Israeli .50 cal Desert Eagle, to be honest, I don't recommend you use this gun on missions. The gun's frame is very heavy and will affect the aiming stability, while most targets will not need this much firepower to kill. You don't need to use such a big gun with your level of marksmanship."

Kayla naturally knows the details of all of her customers. The "Devil" with a tendency to do head-shots is more suited for a pistol with longer range, more precision and a higher ammo capacity.

The bullet used by the Desert Eagle is 0.5 inches, which is a 12.7mm bullet.

Normally 9mm caliber bullets are enough to solve most problems, and the 12.7mm is already overkill with an excessive lethality.

Zod looked at the two desert eagles with dazzling silver gun bodies in the suitcase and nodded with satisfaction.

Kayla doesn't understand, this is a man's dream, not to mention it suits Zod who has super strength and the ability to back it up.

"According to your request, I increased the length of the cartridge case. The charge is more than that of ordinary cartridges. However, the recoil is greater this way. There is also a pointed steel core warhead."

Kayla gave her own suggestion and then took out a case that held the bullets modified by her. [TL: pretty much all bullets have a steel core unless you are melting lead down for some pistol target practice bullets. It's nothing that needs added lol]

What she can't understand is Zod's pursuit of power and lethality, not to mention the fact that he is using two of them at the same time. Can his hand maintain stability and their accuracy?

In order to match this customized bullet, the .50 Desert Eagle was modified by Kayla, otherwise it wouldn't be usable.

There is also an extended magazine. The ammo capacity was originally only 7 rounds, but the special extended magazine allowed the capacity to reach 9 rounds.

Originally Kayla wanted to make the magazine a double row bullet capacity. However, the desert eagle itself was already very heavy at 1.99 kg. After being modified by her the empty gun reached 2.5kg before adding the bullets. The double row magazine would make the gun even heaver. In order to prevent it being too bulky, she can only change it to an extended magazine.

Zod ordered five hundred rounds, and he needed to go back and load them in the magazines.

"Thank you."

Zod paid gold coins.

All services at Midnight Hotel needed to use gold coins instead of cash.

"Don't you need the dessert to go along with the main dish?"

Kayla opened the cabinet, revealing a dagger and a short fold-up pocket knife.

"No, no one can approach me."

Zod said blandly.

Then there is the custom clothing next.

Zod customized two black non-reflective trench coats with combat bulletproof lining and cut-resistant fabric.

After that, he returned to Texas and continued his daily routine.

Every once in a while, Zod would target practice with his guns.

"Judley, find a group of builders to build a villa."

Zod approached Judley. Judley's current house is just a house built by his parents and grandfather eighty years ago. Although it is solid and reliable, it's not very comfortable to live in. Now that Zod is rich, he wants to live by himself comfortably.

"Boss, the labor and materials are very expensive, you may not have enough money."

After listening to Zod's description on how large the area of the villa was going to be, Judley sucked in a cold breath of air and quickly tried to dissuade him.

"I have millions, it's not like I'm building in the city."

Zod asked suspiciously.

Forgive him for having no idea of prices. When he was on krypton his father was a senior official and a member of the council and his mother was a great scientist. There was no shortage of money at all.

"In the United States, labor is the most expensive. Many capitalists choose artificial buildings in order to show their status." [TL: sigh]

Judley said.

In the United States, labor is extremely expensive. Whether it is mixing concrete or fabricating steel bars, it requires a lot of manpower.

Not to mention the villa being built of reinforced concrete, the cost will be sky-high.

And when the real estate tax is levied, the tax is not only related to the cost of the house, but also includes the cost of demolishing the house.

Reinforced concrete houses that are difficult to demolish and expensive to build will only be built by real local tyrants.

"It doesn't matter, money isn't a problem. Go ahead and find a builder to set it up."

Zod considered his speed of making money and thought that it wasn't impossible.

The reason Superman is poor is because he is kind and law-abiding, but Zod isn't. Twenty years of living on Krypton had changed his view of the world. He has also been on the battlefield for Krypton and killed many aliens. It is the truth of the universe that the strength rules all and everything else is just imaginary.

After spending so much time filling all of the magazines with bullets, Zod felt like next time he should ask Kayla to do it herself.

He turned on the black phone and displayed the targets available.

Zod has a very large appetite, and those missions that only reward tens of thousands of dollars aren't worth bothering with.

The tasks worth millions of dollars are very difficult for hitmen to solve. They usually rely on teammates and then have to share the pot. Zod can complete them himself easily and take the whole reward so the money comes easy.
