30 It's You?!

It is obvious that Carter was definitely lacking in more ways than one.

But in her defence, she has done an outstanding job in this matter.

The map had many marks and notes. Especially the shortest route she had planned, for every possible hour of the day.

- I mean, how bored must one be to do this? -

Of course, the shortest path did have some shortcomings. There was no 'direct route' per se. One must guard a certain location to distract a few guards by randomly throwing stones or or a fallen painting. A few minutes of blindness was all that was needed.

(Imagine a floor plan: rectangle with a square cutout from one vertex to keep all the pipes from appearing on the other walls)

And that's why they here in this corner. The guard had just left. They had no time to spare. Any minute, the missing guards might be found.

Why were they here?

Well, the easiest route that Carter had planned started from breaking in through the roof! All of her plans started from there. And they didn't have the leisure to plan another course.

Anyway, the roof was unguarded. Seems like no one expected to come all the way in without triggering so alarm.

And more so, who in the world would expect anyone to come in through the rooftop!

The overall style of the building was confusing. It looked like someone smashes in different houses to make this piece of 'modern-art'. Just look at how many roofs there are? Maybe it should technically be an extended balcony, since roof referred to the topmost layer of the house...

Anyway, he was supposed to be going in through this 'balcony'. And so he put one foot onto a nearby clamp and gave himself a push and leaped forward. He grabbed the pipe and with the second jump he reached the eaves and pulled himself up.

Arthur huffed a little and after checking the vicinity for cameras and guards, he continued on. Although he knew where the cameras were, it wouldn't hurt to che again, right?

The operation was smoother than he thought.

The guards were a little rough with their schedules and these few minutes of slack helped a careful thief to sneak in.

After seven minutes of hiding and running and slithering around, Arthur reached the roof on top of the spy's office.

Kneeling on the roof, he stretched himself down carefully and looked inside a window.

To be honest, he was definitely nervous looking inside.

Just imagine, one Spiderman and one spyman, looking at each other longingly through the glass, separating their world of good and evil and this forbidden love...

Okayyy, I sidetracked a bit. Back to the story.

...

Arthur was slightly afraid that when he was peeping into the room, Lindaddy would be standing by the window, admiring the window, er... I mean the scenery!

But the plot definitely didn't want that, at least not now!

The spy did not notice him peeping through the window. In fact, no one was in the room itself!

"Nani!?"

Arthur was stunned, he was not prepared for this situation.

"Is this the wrong room?"

He kept thinking. It was the same room as the one in the map. He was sure of it. The capability of his mind had been enhanced by the system products. He could not mistake a position that he just saw a few minutes ago.

He was prepared for any scenario; even being discovered! But not this. It baffled him!

It seems that even if the system helped the hero enhance his mind, he would still be somewhat brainless ...

- Carter's intelligence should be correct. So this should be the office. -

After a second of hesitation, he decided to go in! It would be better to go in unnoticed than making a ruckus while entering.

Turning over and hanging on the edge of the roof, he reached out and jumped down onto the window sill. Arthur then tried to pull and open the window but it was locked.

"Sure enough..."

Just when he was depressed, still holding onto the corner, he leaned slightly on the window and... the dicking window opened!

What kind of an idiot made this window, who the heck opens a window inwards! And not outwards. This proves it, Hydra was some dumb shit.

...

The office was relatively larger than necessary.

It was not exactly luxurious but the furnishings were kept in pristine conditions...

But he was not here as a guest, rather to apprehend the host itself.

He had often seen the spy scenes in the movies and tried to look through the documents. It was kind of exciting. Unfortunately, he was not a camera. Otherwise, he would have clicked out the clues!

- Should I go out? -

However, before he could even move, he heard the light bang from the bookshelf. It was the sound of the wheels turning!

"There is a secret room!"

Arthur was more than excited, he has never seen an actual real life hidden room!

So, in the next second, he rushed to the blind-side of the bookshelf.

Arthur was hidden by the bookshelf.

A man stepped out. Not noticing anything.

Arthur was relieved on not being found out. He double checked. It was the target.

He picked up a hard covered dictionary from the shelf and approached from behind.

The man in the suit, had exposed his behind entired to Arthur, not knowing that he would be ravaged by a fiend.

And ravage he did. Art bashed the book on the head.

"Aha!"

The sound was crisp and pleasant to hear!

He couldn't help but admire: "That sound was so satisfying to hear. I bet it could be some ASMR thing like the ones I watched secretly on bilibili!"

But the one who was bashed did not immediately fall down but turned around and confronted Arthur, apparently shocked: " You! "

- Me? -

- Does he know me? or is he just angry? -

In self defense, the target raised his hand to retaliate.

Subconsciously, Arthur used the book in his hand to smash his face again and again and again and again ...

Until he could make no more noise.

He took out the photo that Carter had given him, and pinched the man's face for a while, looking at it from different angles and confirmed for the 8th time that he was the right person!

It was only then that he sighed in relief.

The he opened the senseless man's mouth and inserted his fingers groping around and found the tooth he needed to remove.

He removed the tooth and the poison alongside it without any damage.

- I can study the poison. Such a fast acting poison would definitely be useful.-

- And I don't believe that they can make different poisons for different spies. So if I make an antidote based on this, the problem of sudden death would be solved, no? -
