55 Chapter 54: Danger Room

I was surprised by how easily Professor X agreed to my request. I thought I was going to have to persuade him or something, but no, he readily agreed, which I couldn't like better, though it seemed like the people operating the Danger Room weren't all that pleased.

"Eh, Professor, are you sure that's a good idea? I know there is no danger to his life, but letting a child experience the Danger Room is, well, a little dangerous." Said Karl, who spoke to Ororo over the intercom as he looked at Professor, who nodded in response.

"I understand what you're getting at, Karl, but Pharaoh is far from a normal child, even by Mutant standards; besides, I, myself, am rather curious to see the extent of his strength. Aren't you as well, Ororo?" Replied Professor with a soft smile before glancing at the door to his right, leading to the Danger Room that Ororo had just exited from with a towel.

"Yes, I'd also like to see more of his strength; I want to see if his claim of me being no problem to deal with is just the talk of a child or if he actually has the strength to back it up." Stated Ororo as she wiped the sweat trailing down her body before eyeing Pharaoh, who also happened to be looking at her.

'My goodness, why does she look even sexier when exhausted?' Thought Pharaoh as he closely observed her sexy body that had perfect curves that a woman would fight for.

"Pharaoh?" Said Jean with a scowl as she shook Pharaoh, snapping him out of his daze before looking at her.

"Hmm, yeah, need something, Jean?" Asked Pharaoh as he awkwardly looked at Jean, who was giving him an annoyed expression while looking between him and Ororo.

"Hmph, it seems I'm not the only one who's interested in the opposite sex, Mr. Puberty." Remarked Jean with a huff of annoyance as she folded her arms and walked away, causing Tut to be slightly embarrassed at getting caught.

Watching Jean walk away, I looked back at Professor, though he was busy persuading the operators of the Danger Room, so I headed towards the door Ms. Munroe came out of and entered it; walking down a downward curved path, I arrived at another door, which opened, leading me right into the Danger Room.

"Yo, I'm already down here, so just start this bitch up! I'm trying to have some fun!" Yelled Pharaoh from the center of the Danger Room, his voice resounding through the speakers in the control room, causing everyone to stop and look out the window.

"Haa, fine, just know I'll turn it off if you show any signs of fear." Said Karl with a sigh of defeat as he spoke through the microphone, causing Tut to show a thumbs-up.

"I'm a real nigga, so you don't have to worry about this; also, put this thing on the hardest difficulty!" Replied Tut with a smirk as he turned around and started shadowboxing, warming himself up for the inevitable fight.

"I will not-"

"Do it." Said Professor lightly as he glanced at Karl, cutting off his voice.

"But, Professor, the hardest difficulty?" Remarked Karl with furrowed brows, though Professor X didn't budge.

"Yes, the hardest difficulty; I've seen some of his strength first hand; only the hardest difficulty will give him a challenge; after all, this is a place to train, not to toy around with." Stated Professor X confidently with a nod, causing Karl to begrudgingly nod his head after a few seconds.

"I'm changing all settings to Hell difficulty; give the room a few seconds to properly adjust." Said Karl as he spoke to Pharaoh through the microphone.

After speaking, I saw them fiddle around with the control panel; seeing them do that, I looked at Tut down there through the window before looking at Professor, though I didn't need to say anything as Ms. Munroe answered my question before I could even voice it.

"Don't worry, Jean, Pharaoh will be free of harm; even if he did nothing, the moment the Danger Room determines you've received a fatal blow, the simulation will end." Said Ororo lightly as she stood beside Jean and watched Pharaoh, who was moving so fast he looked like a blur.

"Eh, if you say so." Replied Jean with a nod as she shifted her focus back to Pharaoh.

While I was warming up, I felt my body had gotten heavier, and not just by a little bit, either; following that, it got harder to breathe as well. However, despite all that happening, I felt more at ease, which was incredibly weird since it should have had the opposite effect.

"Haa, I don't know why; maybe it's got something to do with my species." Muttered Pharaoh softy as he shook his head and continued warming up, disregarding the change like it almost never happened.

"Everything is ready, the training will start in 3…2…1…." Said Karl through the speakers as he pressed a large red-green button, causing the Danger Room to suddenly brighten for a few seconds.

Once the room dimmed back down, I was no longer standing in a large, empty room now, I was in the middle of a wasteland with collapsed buildings and overgrown vegetation, for as far as my eyes could see, there was nothing except dark clouds and a red sun, which caused my frown to deepen immensely.

'Haa, thank goodness this is just a simulation and not a real red sun.' Mused Pharaoh as he breathed a sigh of relief before suddenly snapping his head to the right.

Hearing what sounded like a stampede and feeling the ground tremble beneath my feet, I couldn't help but smirk in excitement; this may all be a simulation, but it'll be my first, well, second, fight, and I was more than ready to cut loose a little.

"Hehe, I'm excited." Said Pharaoh as he prepared to run toward the incoming enemies, though he quickly took off his hoodie, shoes, and socks before he did.

'Alright, now I'm ready.' Thought Pharaoh with a slight smile as he powerfully pushed off the ground and dashed toward the incoming enemies, ignoring the various objects in his way.

Within a matter of a few seconds, I came across a horde similar to the one Ms. Munroe was fighting; there were robots, monstrous animals, and even creatures I don't think exist on Earth, which made sense, considering this was built with Alien technology.

Nearing the horde, I leaped into the air, right towards a flying robot, who shot at me with a built-in minigun, yet all of the bullets bounced off my body harmlessly as I crashed through the robot, destroying it and causing it to explode. As I couldn't fly, the increased gravity eventually took hold of me and brought me back to the ground; while I was falling, numerous other robots shot at me as well, but since they couldn't harm me, I ignored them and continued plummeting into the massive horde.

Smashing through the shell of a monstrous tortoise, I quickly stood up and threw it toward another incoming monster, killing it and a few others behind it; turning around, I weaved an attack from a weird-looking tiger before punching my fist right through its face, causing it to collapse onto the ground.

'Ugh, I know this is a simulation, but I don't like that feeling at all.' Mused Pharaoh with an uncomfortable expression as he retracted his fist, which was covered in blood and bits of brain, from the lion's destroyed head.

Ignoring the various monsters that were attacking me, doing absolutely nothing to me, I shook my hand, cleaning the blood off me before finally turning around and punching my fist through a hippo-looking creature, blasting its body and the body of numerous creatures behind it apart.

"Welp, that was a waste of time, wasn't it?" Muttered Pharaoh as he looked at his bloody fist before sighing and forgetting about it as he dived right back into the horde.

Despite the uncomfortable feeling of blood and organs covering parts of my body, the longer I fought, the more accustomed I got to the feeling until it eventually didn't bother me too much. Also, unlike the monstrous creatures I was fighting, the robots up above were adapting to me; not like physically getting stronger or anything, but they mostly stopped shooting at me after they realized it did not affect me. They were now down on the ground fighting against me alongside the monsters, but that didn't make a difference, not even a little; so long as they were nearby, the shock waves from my attacks would be more than enough to destroy them along with all the monsters.

However, I've also noticed, similar to Ms. Munroe, that the enemies were slowly getting stronger in general; at the rate they were being enhanced, it was too slow for me to bother with, and it would take a long time before they were a threat to me. Just like that, the minutes passed by with me destroying robots and murdering monstrous with every swing of my fist. At first, it was fun, but after about ten minutes, it started to lose its charm, and by around twenty minutes, it was just tedious to me. I wasn't exhausted, tired, fatigued, or anything like that; I was, in fact, still considerably holding back; this felt more like a chore rather than a challenge.

'Should I leave now or what? This is getting boring.' Mused Pharaoh with a slight frown as he punched a small group of monsters into oblivion before grabbing a robot's arm, ripping it off with ease, and destroying it with its arm.
