5 Chapter 5: Alien & Phoenix

Nearing the school, I noticed many other people in similar situations as me; there were many young children my age, along with their parents taking pictures on their first day of school, and unlike me, most of the children were happy.

'I don't remember everything about my past life, but the bits and pieces I remember of school weren't fun.' Thought Pharaoh with a frown as he, James, and Hana walked down the sidewalk approaching the school entrance.

"Alright, we've got a few minutes before it's time to send you off; let's get a few photos of my adorable baby boy." Said Hana with a slight smile as she reached into her small purse and pulled out a relatively thick camera, causing Pharaoh to sigh, but he had already anticipated something like this.

Nodding, I walked toward an empty spot, standing with my back to the wall of the school, and waited for Mom to take a picture of me; when she finally got ready, I did a fake smile as she took a few pictures of me at different angles, which really wasn't needed but I wasn't going to question it.

"Alright, got a few photos; James, you get in there with Tut." Said Hana as she signaled to James, causing him to grin as he quickly stood right beside Tut.

With Dad standing beside me, the two of us took a few regular pictures, and then he picked me up and put me on his shoulders, causing Mom to grumble, but she took pictures nonetheless. After Mom finished, she and Dad switched places, though, unlike Dad, she didn't put me on her shoulders, to be honest, I didn't even know if she was strong enough to; she instead just carried me in her arms.

"Alright, I got several; should we take a picture with all three of us now?" Asked James with a slight smile as he looked at Hana, quickly setting Tut on the ground.

"Yes, but we'll need to ask someone to take a picture of us." Said Hana, furrowing her brows, and just when she was about to ask one of the other parents, the three suddenly heard a familiar voice coming from their left.

"I've got that, Hana." Said an older man of similar age yet smaller stature to James, causing the three to look in the voice's direction.

"John, haha, I was wondering when your smart ass would show up." Said James with a grin as he slapped John's shoulder while he, in turn, lightly punched James in the gut, causing Hana and the women standing beside John to shake their heads.

"Haa, Men." Muttered Hana and the other woman simultaneously, prompting them to look at each other before chuckling.

"Tut!" Yelled a red-head girl with green eyes full of happiness as she ran towards him, stopping just before she collided with him while a slightly larger girl approached them.

"Hey, Jean, you excited for the first day of school?" Asked Tut with a small smile, enjoying Jean's bubbly personality that seemed to affect everyone she spoke to.

"Yeah, I'm going to meet a lot of people, so it's definitely going to be fun! Aren't you also excited?" Replied Jean with a large smile as she hopped in joy before looking at Tut.

"I don't think Tut is that excited; if you haven't noticed, he hardly plays with the other kids in the neighborhood besides you and me." Said an older girl with the same red hair and green eyes as Jean as she stood beside her and looked at Tut's expression.

"Sara's correct; a lot of the kids are annoying and are always trying to play with the dirt or do other disgusting things like eating boogers. I'm not into disgusting acts such as those." Stated Tut with a frown as he and Sara shivered in disgust, while Jean didn't seem bothered by it.

"Ay, but what's wrong with dirt? Dirt is fun; with a little bit of water, you can make mudballs and have a mud ball fight." Said Jean with a smile of excitement as she remembered her first time playing the knock-off version of a snowball fight.

"Ew, don't bring that up, Jean; I nearly got a worm stuck in my mouth; it was disgusting! I could've gotten a disease and died." Remarked Tut with a frown as he folded his arms and looked away, causing Jean and Sara to laugh, annoying him.

While the three of us, or I should say, Jean and Sara, were laughing at the expanse of my misfortune, I heard Mom cough, catching our attention as we all looked, only to see the four of them staring at us, though I could tell Mom was giving me a knowing look.

"And you've got the audacity to call other children childish." Said Hana with an amused smirk, her words causing Tut to blush slightly in embarrassment, but he just huffed in response.

"Alright, you can play with each other after school gets out, but first, let's take some pictures. Sara, Jean, come here." Said John with a smile before grabbing the camera from James' hands, prompting him, Hana, and Tut to stand together.

With Mr. Grey, or Jean's Dad, taking a picture, I stood at the front while Mom and Dad stood right behind me; each one had their hand on my shoulders; just like this, we took a few photos. Then, Dad thought it would be a great idea to pick Mom up in his arms and then lift me onto one of his shoulders, causing Mom to grumble again, but nonetheless, she didn't voice her complaints.

As much fun as it would be for me to pick up both Dad and Mom effortlessly, no one besides them knows of my strength; not even Uncle Darnel knows of my alien heritage. So, I had to unfortunately dismiss such an idea, but I supposed a few goofy pictures made up for it.

"I know I've said it before, but you're one unique family." Said the woman standing beside Jean and Sara with a smile.

"Heh, more unique than you would believe, Elaine." Said James with a smirk as he set both Hana and Tut down, only for him to get an elbow from Hana, causing everyone to laugh.

Now that our photos were done, it was our turn to take pictures of the Grey family; first, it was Jean by herself, then it was Jean with Sarah; next, it was Jean with her two parents separately, and finally, it was Jean with her whole family.

"Now, let's get Jean and Tut together." Said Hana, her words causing Elaine to vigorously nod in agreement as she practically started pushing the two into place.

Standing beside Jean, Mom, and Elaine took turns taking pictures of us, and after they had taken about one hundred, Jean and I started taking some goofy pictures. In one of the pictures, Jean gave me a piggy-back ride, which was funny since I was bigger than her despite being the same age. In another picture, we stand with our backs against each other while we made a gun with our fingers; in a different one, I was squatting with my arms resting on my knees, looking like a gangster, while Jean stood at an angle with her legs spread as she made a peace sign.

"Eh, what pose is that from Jean? It looks a little familiar." Asked Tut, his fake angry expression vanishing as he stood up and looked at Jean.

"You don't know it!? It's from Sailor Moon; it's Usagi's iconic pose." Said Jean with a smile as she looked at Tut like he was in the wrong for not knowing.

"Sailor Moon? Oh, I've seen a little bit of it, but I don't really watch it; I prefer the Powerpuff Girls." Replied Tut with a nod, his words slightly calming Jean down, but she still gave him a reproachful look.

"You watch the Powerpuff Girls too? Who's your favorite character? Mine is Bubbles!" Asked Jean with a joyful smile, her personality being very similar to Bubbles.

"Obviously, it's Buttercup; I just love how feisty and aggressive she is compared to her sisters." Stated Tut with a grin as he punched the air, though he controlled his strength lest he accidentally give something away.

"Blossom is my favorite; she's got qualities of both Bubbles and Buttercup. She can be joyful just like Bubbles and also feisty like Buttercup." Said Sara with a grin, though all she got in return was a blank stare from both Tut and Jean.

"Eh, really? Blossom is the worst, though. Yeah, Blossom is pretty lame." Said Tut and Jean, respectively, causing Sara to huff in annoyance as she ignored them and headed to school just in time for the bell to ring, signaling the start of the day.

"Alright, you two, it's time for school." Said Elaine as she, Hana, James, and John stopped conversing and approached their child.

"Make sure to have a good day, Tut, and try not to be mean to the other kids; everyone has things they enjoy." Stated Hana as she reached down and kissed Tut on the forehead while James patted his shoulder, using enough strength that even a grown man would wince in pain, but Tut hardly felt it.

"Okay, I'll try, but you can't blame me if they start acting annoying." Replied Tut with a nod, causing James to chuckle while Hana just sighed.

"Love you." Said Hana with slight tears as she lightly pushed Tut forward and watched him walk towards the school entrance, trailing right behind Jean.

"Bye. Love you, Mom and Dad." Said Tut with a smile as he turned around and waved at James and Hana before quickly catching up with Jean.

"Now, then, you never did tell me how you managed to make it." Remarked Hana as she wiped her tears and looked at James, who just smiled and wrapped his around Hana while they walked back to the car.
