27 Chapter 27: S.H.I.E.L.D., X-Men, & Brotherhood Of Mutants

On Theodore Roosevelt Island, in the middle of the Potomac River between Washington, D.C., and Virginia, there was the Triskelion, the headquarters of the world's most powerful extra-governmental counter-terrorism and intelligence agency tasked with maintaining both national and global security; it was also the place where S.H.I.E.L.D operated from.

Inside the Triskelion, on the topmost floor, one of the two directors of S.H.I.E.L.D, Nicholas Joseph Fury, more commonly referred to as Nick Fury, was currently sitting in his office, looking through vital files containing tens of secrets of S.H.I.E.L.D, that many powerful and dangerous people would love to get their hands on.

While he was doing so, he suddenly heard a knock coming from the other side of his door, though even so, he didn't move a muscle and continued reading the files in his hands; however, not even a minute had passed from the moment the knock occurred, that the door was forcefully opened. Allowing a woman to boldly enter the office of director Nick Fury, though unlike what one would expect, he wasn't angry or the sort; in fact, he instantly put away his files and looked up at the woman with a hardened gaze.

"What's the problem now, Hill?" Asked Fury with a permanent scowl on his face as he gazed at the serious woman standing before his desk.

"We've just detected an incredibly massive spike of energy similar to that of the awakening of mutants in Queens, New York, Director Fury." Replied Hill calmly and quickly as she looked at Fury, whose scowl deepened at her words.

"Alpha mutant?" Asked Fury curiously, though Hill shaking her head only caused him to furrow his brows.

"No, the energy signatures were far greater than the awakening of an Alpha mutant; it wasn't even comparable." Said Hill seriously, her words causing Fury to rub his chin at the implications.

"Omega level Mutant. This could be bad; keep a close eye on Professor X and the Brotherhood of Mutants and immediately send our best available agents to Queens. Keep me posted on everything that's happening." Stated Fury in an authoritative tone as he looked up at Hil, who nodded her head and instantly turned around, leaving the office.

'Omega level mutant; it's been some time since one of them was born. The awakening of the previous Omega-level mutants has never gone smoothly afterward.' Thought Fury, feeling a headache arriving, though before it did, he returned to reading the files he had previously set aside.

In Westchester, New York, there is a place called Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, where special and unique students are enrolled; though in reality, it is a place where mutants can safely learn without worrying about being ostracized, hunted, or killed by humans.

Charles Xavier, commonly known as Professor X, was the owner of the estate; however, shortly after the Cuban missile crisis in 1962, he transformed his Villa into a school to help and assist mutants just like him. His goal has always been to protect the mutants from humans, humans from mutants; deep down, he believes mutants and humans can peacefully live together, which is his ultimate goal.

In the villa, inside one of the many classrooms, Professor X was currently teaching a group of mutants about the history of mutants, which was interesting to everyone involved.

"In fact, this villa wasn't originally built with the purpose of serving as a safe haven for young mutants like yourselves, but in case a nuclear war broke out-, Haa, yes, Rogue." Said Professor X with a fatherly smile while sitting in his silver wheelchair, which had the symbol of an X on his wheels, though he was forced to interrupt his speech when he noticed a young girl in the back eagerly waving her hand.

"I heard from the older kids that you and Magneto used to be friends; is it true, Professor!?" Asked an energetic girl with long black hair and thick yellow gloves, her words causing everyone to eagerly eye Professor X, who merely sighed.

"Haa, yes, that is true, Rogue; in fact, despite our clashing views, I still see Magneto as a friend. Now then, young lady, may I continue where I previously left off?" Replied Professor X with a melancholic smile before lightly shaking his head and eyeing Rogue, who sheepishly smiled while nodding her head.

"As I was saying before, this estate was-" Said Professor with a cough as he began speaking, though before he could finish, he suddenly frowned while snapping his head northward, gazing deeply.

'Such raw power; even without Cerebro, I can feel the psionic energy from all the way over here.' Thought Professor X in surprise, instantly realizing it was the birth of an omega-level telepath.

"I'm sorry, children, but something very important has come up; we'll continue this tomorrow. Hopefully." Said Professor X as he smiled at the numerous confused students before moving his joystick, which controlled his wheelchair to leave the building.

'Hank, an Omega-level mutant has been born; I need you to find them quickly.' Said Professor X via telepathy while moving down the halls as he spoke to one of if not the smartest mutants he knew.

'Already on it, Professor.' Replied Hank with a deep voice, his words causing Professor X to nod as he took a right, causing him to nearly run into a brown woman with long white hair.

"Professor, has something happened?" Asked the beautiful woman curiously with an accent as she quickly moved out of the way and followed Professor X

"An Omega-level mutant was born; I must get to them before anyone else does. I'm sure you know better than anyone just how much damage an Omega-level mutant can cause, Storm." Replied Professor X as he glanced at a previous student of his now-turned-teacher with a serious expression.

"Yes, I do; shall I gather the X-Men?" Asked Storm with a nod while looking at Professor X, who also nodded.

"Yes, tell them to meet at the Blackbird and be quick; the longer we wait, the more likely something terrible can happen." Ordered Professor X as he made another right turn, stopping right before a circular metal door with a large X engraved on it.

"Got it; we'll be ready in 10." Said Storm as she turned around and quickly went to assemble the X-men.

The Bermuda Triangle is home to a variety of monstrous creatures believed to be merely mythical, and at the center of this death trap rests an island inhabited by no humans; at least, that is what the inhabitants believe. The Island, known as Island-M, is the home and base of operations of the Brotherhood of Mutants, one of the strongest mutant organizations, with the infamous leader, Magento, the one who destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge just several months ago.

Unlike Professor X, who believes Mutants and Humans can peacefully live together, Magneto sees the idea of his friend as foolish and naive. Magneto, on the other hand, believes they are superior to humans and that they should have the right to lord over all non-mutants; and with that ideal, he's managed to gather several like-minded mutants who either think the same or dislike their other options.

Currently, Magneto, the infamous leader and one of the world's most wanted men, was in his room, drinking coffee while reading the newspaper at his desk, though even so, he still wore his red and purple helmet, which was the only thing protecting him from Professor X's powerful mind.

However, suddenly, the doors to his office were busted open, revealing a crystalline woman walking right to Magneto, causing him to look up and frown while setting his newspaper down.

"What is it, Emma? It better be good; I don't like being interrupted doing my personal time." Asked Magneto as he looked at Emma, whose crystalline body had disappeared, revealing a beautiful woman with long silver hair and a cold expression.

"An Omega-level telepathic mutant has awakened; I can feel the powerful psionic energy despite being so far away." Said Emma with a cold expression as she folded her arms and looked at Magneto, who smiled at her words.

"That is incredible news; we must not dally a second longer then. If you've sensed it, then I've no doubt my old friend has as well; gather the Brotherhood; I shall be out in a minute." Stated Magneto with an eager smile as he set his coffee down and stood up, approaching his wardrobe beside his bed while Emmat silently glanced at him before leaving his room.

Once Magneto wore his outfit, which consisted of only two colors, red and purple, he donned his cape and exited his room, walking to the front of the stairway balcony overlooking the lobby; there were a few people present, each one different than the other.

"Juggernaut, White Queen, Pyro, Sabertooth, and Mystique; are you all ready?" Asked Magneto from the balcony as he lifted himself into the air over the railing while slowly descending to the ground.

Although no one said anything, they all nodded, causing Magneto to smile slightly as the five allowed Magneto to leave the building before they followed right behind him.

"White Queen, you will show us the way to our new friend." Said Magneto as he lifted himself into the air, followed by the five behind him also being lifted into the air, before launching themselves north.

"It's far away, so be prepared for a long flight." Said the White Queen as she glanced at her fellow mutants, though only Mystique and Pyro bothered to nod at her words.

Yo; happy new years y'all! Also, now that mutants have been officially introduced, I'd like to add that don't expect mutants to be as powerful as their comic book counterpart; some will be weaker, and very few might be stronger. This goes for everyone as well, though everyone should be decently to significantly stronger than their movie counter-part.

(Ps. Give me them new year power stones!)
