17 Chapter 17: Young Flash Thompson

Looking at the large school building before us and the various students entering inside, I followed along with Jean as we entered; once inside, the school looked well, like a freaking school; I don't know how to describe it other than that.

"Woah, this school is large!" Remarked Jean in slight astonishment as she looked around while Tut protected her from the older kids bumping into her like he always does.

"That is something I'll agree with you on; however, this is the high school side of the school; let's go to the Middle school portion." Said Tut calmly while swiftly standing to Jean's left, stopping a large man from bumping into Jean, causing him to nearly fall.

"Oh yeah, let's go and meet up with Pete and Gwen wherever they are; we've still got ten minutes until school actually starts." Replied Jean with a nod as she took one last look at the school's insides before walking behind Tut, who was leading the way.

Mid-Town High was actually a High school and a Middle school, so it's one massive school, but the school is separated into two portions; the Middle school kids, sixth, seventh, and eighth graders are situated more to the leftmost part of the building, while High schoolers, ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth graders are located on the rightmost side of the building. As Middle schoolers, we won't be on this side of the building most of the time; I'm sure there will be some rare occurrences that cause us to be in the High schooler section, but other than that, we will hardly be here.

After navigating through the school building, we finally arrived within the middle school section, and while there were kids still larger than us, the difference wasn't as apparent as before.

"So, where do you think Pete and Gwen are?" Asked Jean curiously while walking around, searching for Peter and Gwen.

"Don't know; let's hope we run into them." Replied Tut, while randomly walking through the school, though he was actually searching through the hundreds of voices, trying to find Peter's or Gwen's.

'Ha, found you, Pete.' Thought Tut with a smirk as he focused his hearing on Peter's voice, only to instantly frown in anger when he heard him moaning in pain.

"Let's go, Jean." Said Tut seriously as he suddenly turned left, catching Jean by surprise, though she quickly ran after him.

"Eh, did you find Peter and Gwen? How?" Questioned Jean as she arrived beside Tut, though she titled her head in confusion when she saw his scowl.

Ignoring Jean, I continued walking down the hall, even picking up my pace, only to eventually see a group of four people, and one of them was Pete, though, to my anger, Pete was being bullied by the three, and unfortunately, there was no teacher's around to stop them.

"Peter!" Said Jean in surprise and anger when she noticed Peter getting bullied by three kids, each one larger than him.

"Hold my backpack, Jean." Stated Tut as he dropped his backpack beside Jean and ran towards Peter while hiking up his pants.

"You think I didn't see you talking to my girlfriend, four eyes!?" Exclaimed the kid in the middle as he grabbed Peter by his collar and slammed him against the lockers, causing him to groan.

"I-I didn't know s-she was your girlfriend." Replied Peter nervously between his grunts of pain as he glanced at the three larger kids surrounding him.

"Well, let me drill it into your skull, nerd, that she's Flash Thompson's girlfriend." Stated Flash with a grin as he reached his arm back, seemingly about to punch Peter, though before he could, the person to his left was suddenly slammed into the locker from behind.

"Ah, drop my dawg Pete, or I'm about to get real ignorant up in this bitch." Stated Tut angrily while ignoring the kid whom he had just slammed face-first into the locker, rolling on the ground in pain as he got into a fighting stance.

"What the? Who the hell are you!?" Exclaimed Flash in anger as he looked at his friend before eyeing Tut.

"You don't need to worry who I am; release my nigga Pete, or I'll drop your bitch asses. Don't make me say it again, hoe." Replied Tut with an attitude as he squinted his eyes while slowly moving closer, causing Flash and his other friend to take a step back.

"Y-Yeah, y-you heard him; leave Peter alone!" Yelled Jean from behind as she tried mimicking Tut, though, from everyone else perception, she looked like a harmless puppy.

"Tch, let's go, but don't think I'm done with you; if I see talking my girl again, I'm beating you up!" Stated Flash angrily as he glared at Tut, who was fearlessly approaching him, before clicking his tongue and staring at Peter.

"Yeah, that's what I thought, hoe ass bitches." Remarked Tut with a nod as he watched how Flash, his friend, and his other friend walked away while Jean went to check on Peter.

Once they turned the corner, only then did I check on Pete, who looked a little roughed up, but after scanning his insides, other than some slight bruises, he was fine; he'd probably be feeling sore for a few days, but that's it.

"Peter, you okay?" Asked Jean worriedly as she helped Pete stand up while fixing his attire.

"Haa, yeah, I'm fine; they just caught me by surprise." Replied Peter with a slight smile before wincing in pain.

"Anyways, Pete, how the hell did you get targeted by bullies on the first day of school? C'mon, dawg, I know you look like you're supposed to be bullied, but couldn't you at least wait until next week?" Questioned Tut with a shake of his head as he folded his arms and helped Peter, who gave him a blank stare while Jean hit his arm.

"Not helping, Pharaoh; besides, how was I supposed to know that redhead was someone's girlfriend? I thought she was Jean at first, but only when I sat next to her on the bus did I realize it was another person." Remarked Peter defensively while waving his hands in the air, only for him to wince in pain when Jean lightly hit him.

"Oops, sorry." Said Jean sheepishly with a smile, causing Peter to sigh and shake his head.

"Understandable." Commented Tut with a nod as he, Jean, and Peter walked down the hall from where they came from, picking up their backpacks along the way.

"Anyways, how did you do that, Pharaoh? You scared off two seventh-graders; even if you're the same size, it's still a two-on-one." Asked Peter curiously with slight amazement as he and Jean both looked at Pharaoh, who smirked in response.

"Heh, scaring off them was nothing special; they're just a couple of kids who are hardly capable of hurting anyone; take you, for example, Pete. They may have ruffed you up, but you're not that hurt; you easily walked off after that altercation like it was nothing, and to top it all off, you're quite small." Replied Pharaoh with a slightly prideful smirk before looking down at Peter to his left and rubbing his head, prompting him to slap his hand away.

"Again, not helping Pharaoh; still, even so, the way you acted frightened them; how did you do that?" Asked Peter while looking up at his larger friend in annoyance.

"Yeah, I've never seen you act like that before, Tut; it was kinda cool." Remarked Jean curiously with a smile as she looked up at Tut.

"Well, if you really want to know, it's called the art of ignorance. Really easy to learn but hard to master since people who usually master the art of ignorance don't live long enough to pass it down to the next generation." Stated Tut sagely while nodding his head, causing both Jean and Peter to tilt their heads in confusion.

"Eh, the art of ignorance? Isn't being ignorant a bad thing?" Questioned Peter in confusion as he pulled out his notebook and started taking notes, only for Tut to shake his head.

"Haven't you heard the saying ignorance is bliss? Ignorance isn't necessarily bad; it just depends on what you are ignorant about. However, before we get into that, we first have to make it so you're not a bully magnet since I doubt that bitch ass Flash is the only one, and I'm not about to always bail you out, Pete." Remarked Tut as he leaned down and wrapped his arm around Peter.

"So, how do we do that?" Asked Peter skeptically as he looked at Tut, who just smirked.

Just as I was about to tell him, the bell rang, causing me to click my tongue while releasing Pete.

"I'll tell you about it during lunch; you've got first lunch, right?" Asked Tut as he shook his head and took a right alongside Jean while Peter took a left.

"Yeah, I'll see you there then, Tut." Said Peter while waving his hand as he headed for his first period.

"So, what about you, Jean?"

"Um, I've got second lunch, unfortunately, but so does Lily, so I'm not alone." Replied Jean with a smile as she looked at a piece of paper, prompting Tut to nod.

"Well, then, I'll see you in science class then, Jean." Remarked Tut with a nod as he suddenly made a sharp left and headed toward a classroom.

"Seeya, Tut." Said Jean with a smile as she continued walking down the hall.
