144 Chapter 143: Furious Pharaoh

Once the three Kryptonians exited the ship, they completely ignored my presence before the woman pulled out a weird device from her waist and handed it to Zod, who then looked at it for a few seconds before the trio changed their directions and started heading towards my left, causing me to furrow brows before I widened my eyes.

'The space pod; they're after Tut's space pod!' Thought Hana with widened eyes as she gritted her teeth before quickly running in their direction, only to stop a few meters in front of them, obstructing their path.

"Where; w-where is my son!?" Exclaimed Hana aggressively in slight fear as she eyed the three while pointing her weapon directly at Zod's face.

"Son? I see; you must be that fool's adoptive parent; move; we don't have time for you." Remarked Zod calmly with a raised eyebrow while frowning as he observed Hana, glancing at her shotgun before ignoring her and continuing toward the barn.

"I'm not moving until I know where my Son is!" Yelled Hana, her anger vastly overpowering the fear she felt as she glared at Zod while being forced to slowly back away.

"Zara-Al is our prisoner for refusing his rightful duty of rebuilding Krypton. Now move, woman; your death will come soon enough." Said Faora as she glared at Hana while continuing toward the barn, though her words did little to appease Hana.

Hearing what the woman said, I bit my lip in frustration and anger as I so badly wanted to unload these shotgun shells into these three, but I knew if these three were anything like Pharaoh, it would be pointless; I wouldn't even manage to anger them. Clenching the shotgun in my hand, I reluctantly and begrudgingly moved out of the way; despite inwardly protesting, I knew I could do nothing to stop them, and I wasn't about to let myself get foolishly killed. I couldn't leave Pharaoh all alone.

After I moved out of the way, the three continued to march forth toward the barn while I followed closely behind; once they arrived, they ripped off the locked door before tossing the hay out of the way like they were pillows and didn't weigh hundreds of pounds. When they moved the tarp off, the space pod was finally revealed, and they unceremoniously ripped the hatch off, though all they revealed was the comfortable bed where James and I found Pharaoh peacefully sleeping.

I don't know what happened after that as they were speaking in a language I couldn't understand, Kryptonian if I had to guess; in what seemed to be a fit of rage, Zod grabbed the space pod before chucking it out of the barn, right toward our house, crashing through the ceiling and landing right in my room.

'God dammit!' Thought Hana angrily as she looked at the space pod lodged inside the roof of her house before looking back toward Zod, only to notice he was glaring at her.

Seeing Zod glare at me was nervewracking, and it only got worse when he started to aggressively walk toward me; knowing it wasn't going to be a peaceful conversation, I stopped holding back and shot him several times as he neared me, aiming right for the face, yet his armor and weird helmet were protecting him from the buckshot, though even if that wasn't the case, I doubt it would've done any significant damage if any at all.

I tried to back away while firing upon him, but I was too slow as I saw Zod outstretch his hand, grabbing me by the neck and lifting me into the air, forcing me to drop my weapon while I held his arm, trying to free myself.

"Tell me, where is it!? Where is the Codex of Life!?" Exclaimed Zod angrily as he glared at Hana, who he was lifting into the air, though she was barely able to respond.

"I-I d-don't k-k-know." Replied Hana quietly, barely able to speak louder than a whisper, while Zod dropped her to the ground in anger.

Falling to the ground, I grabbed my throat as I gasped for air while lying on the ground.

"If it's not here, Zara-Al must've lied, General." Said Faora with an equally angry expression as she glared at Hana lying on the ground before looking at Zod, who nodded in agreement.

"Yes, to think a simple farmboy managed to fool me; I'm done being nice; he had his chance to join us, and he did not. Anyone who stops the birth of New Krypton is an enemy that must be purged; we shall return to the ship, and I don't care what method we must use; we will get the boy to speak." Declared Zod furiously as he started walking toward the spaceship; his eyes shined with an ice-cold glint while Faora and Nam-Ek nodded.

Slowly standing up, I reached down and grabbed my shotgun, which was unfortunately empty; I had used all the shells earlier, though it's not like it would've made a difference; tightly holding the barrel of the weapon, I ran up from behind Zod and violently smacked him on the head with all of my strength.

"N-No one is touching my S-" Stated Hana wrathfully as she glared at Zod, though she didn't finish speaking as he had turned around, backhanding her cheek and flinging her several meters into the distance before violently landing on the ground.

Seeing the sunny sky above me, I reached up and grabbed the side of my face, which was on fire. I didn't even know what happened; one second, I was standing behind him, and the next, I was rolling across the ground several meters away. All I could hear was intense ringing while everything was blurry. I'd never been in such pain before, even when I broke my arm when I was a child; I don't remember ever being in such pain.

Glancing over toward the three, I couldn't even properly see them; they were just three black silhouettes, though, despite my blurry vision, one of them suddenly disappeared, followed by what I felt to be a powerful gust of wind that rolled me a few meters. Once I finally stopped rolling, I looked back up toward the sky, but instead of seeing the sunny sky, I saw someone kneeling over me, and even though I may have been blurry, I'd be able to spot my little boy even if I was blind.

I didn't know if he was saying anything or not, but knowing Pharaoh was okay caused me to sigh in relief before I fainted shortly afterward.

Looking down at Mom, I gently picked her up and floated over to our house; tossing my space pod off the ceiling, I lowered myself into the house before softly placing her on the bed after cleaning it of all the debris.

"Haa, I'm sorry I was late, Mom." Said Pharaoh with a pained expression as he looked down at Hana before leaning down and kissing her on the head.

Looking up, I froze the ceiling with a breath, ensuring nothing happened to fall atop Mom before turning around and flying out of the house, eyeing the trail Zod's body made across the Earth after I had hit him. Glaring at Faora and Nam-Ek, who were helping him out from the crater, I swiftly lunged at them, appearing before them almost instantly as I grabbed Zod's head before dragging him through the ground while flying everywhere.

"DON'T FUCKING TOUCH MY MOM!" Yelled Pharaoh furiously as he glared down at Zod before tossing him into the air after dragging him through miles of Earth and blasting him with his heat vision, causing him to be flung toward a small town.

I was about to chase after Zod, but before I could, Nam-Ek leaped up toward me, grabbing me by the cape, before tossing me in Zod's direction. Ignoring Nam-Ek, I used his pathetic toss to help chase after Zod, who had crash-landed within the town, the same one I had visited a few days ago to get some marshmallows. Landing in the middle of the street opposite of Zod, I saw him kneeling on the ground while his helmet was messing up, causing him to groan in pain as he grabbed his ears.

"Heh, it doesn't feel good, does it Zod?" Asked Pharaoh in a mocking tone as he approached Zod, only to violently kick him in the face, though before he could be flung away, Pharaoh grabbed his foot and slammed him back onto the asphalt.

Grunting in anger, I reached down and picked Zod up by the neck as I looked at him; a small part of me wanted to kill him for harming Mom, but I wasn't going to. I'd give him a chance to possibly redeem himself, though only one; I wasn't as forgiving as Superman; you wouldn't get infinite chances with me.

"I'll take you back to the Phantom Dimension; I just need to ask Father where and how to do-" Remarked Pharaoh as he eyed Zod, who was still groaning in pain, though before he could finish speaking, he was suddenly hit in the back from nowhere, causing him to crash into several empty cars across the street.

'Fuck me, where was I even attacked from?' Mused Pharaoh with a scowl as he removed himself from the car, only to see Faora helping Zod into the spaceship.

"Tsk, must've been the stupid ship; it packs a decent punch, I'll give it that." Muttered Pharaoh in annoyance as he glared at the spaceship, his eyes taking on a red hue, though before he could, he snapped his head toward the left.

For a split second, I'm not going to lie, I thought Pharaoh was about to kill this man Zod, though he got saved; I thought the protagonist was supposed to have luck like that, not the antagonist.
