1 Chapter 1: Carson's Demise

(Note: I've been writing Marvel fanfiction as I had, for some reason, gotten a strong urge to write one. If you'd like to know more information about the fanfic, hit me up on my discord👍🏾)

It was just your average day for me, and for most people, it was about six o'clock, and I just recently ended my shift. Currently, I was walking down the empty street as I headed home after a long, busy day at work, and unfortunately, I didn't have the luxury of coming home to a beautiful wife or girlfriend; hell, I didn't even have a friend that was a girl, let alone a girlfriend.

"Haa, how does life fucking suck when I'm only 21?" Muttered Carson, sulking as he kicked a small pebble into the road, only for it to get run over by a passing car.

Sighing once more as I lamented my boring, repetitive, and slightly miserable life, I continued walking home, which wasn't too far away. The only problem was I lived on the bad side of the city, also known as the ghetto area; there was not much I could do about that as I was making minimum wage, but it wasn't all bad. I've lived in the ghetto part of the neighborhood for all of my life, thanks to my birth parents, so I know how to navigate the place like the back of my hand.

When you're living in the ghetto, if you wish to survive, there are a few unspoken rules you must abide by. Rule number one, don't poke your nose where it doesn't belong, which is a pretty standard rule pretty much where you live; a lot of gangs live in this area, and the last thing you want to do is piss them off, especially if you aren't apart of a gang, like me. Rule number two, you know nothing, which is a weird rule, but it's primarily used by the gangs since if you happened to get arrested, snitching will get you a lot more than stitches: a first-class ticket to hell, and that's if you're lucky.

Rule number 3: don't act like a bitch; pretty much, stand your ground if you happen to be pressed by a few people since if you act all scared like a bitch, you'll get robbed and beaten, which is a death sentence if you happen to live in the area. This rule, though, is a little tricky since if you act too aggressively, it'll backfire, and you'll get beaten or possibly killed, so you must tread lightly. You must show just enough where you're not scared of your opponents, but you also don't want to start something; it usually works, but not all the time. I should know; I've been beaten a few times, and thankfully, I never received any serious injuries.

"Bitch! Don't fucking walk away when I'm talking to you!" Yelled a man angrily in an alley as he the woman in the face he was pinning against the brick wall, causing her lip to bleed.

"Don't act like you weren't, who was the fucker you texting!?" Said the man aggressively while the woman attempted to wriggle free, but her strength was inferior to the man's.

"I-I was texting my older brother, Marcus! N-Now, release me, you crazy fucking bastard." Stated the woman with venom as she defiantly eyed the man despite her unfavorable situation, though all she got was another slap to the face, this time with much more force.

"What did I say about lying to be bitch!? I know you don't have a brother, Jacqueline; now tell me, who was the fucking man you were speaking to!" Exclaimed the man with a crazy look as he gripped her throat, slowly applying pressure.

"H-He's in the military, and he's been on deployment for the past year!" Replied the woman, slight fear creeping into her eyes as she felt the man's hand tighten around her neck, though her words seemingly never once reached his ears.

Hiding behind the wall, I watched as the man, who was most definitely on drugs, manhandled the woman, who, in all honesty, looked to barely be a day over eighteen. Seeing everything play out, I inwardly cursed at the man, yet I didn't move, nor did I try to interfere; having lived in the ghetto, I've seen both men and women die, and her death would just be another one to be forgotten about, and while I did pity her, there was a grey rag hagging out the mans back pocket, which was the color of one of the most prominent gangs in the area.

'Haa, this, haa, I should just leave, don't forget rule number one.' Thought Carson as he clenched his fists before calming down and continuing down the street, neither noticing him.

"You've probably been fucking that man, haven't you!? This entire time I thought you were a virgin, yet you're just another whore, aren't you! Since you're a dick-loving whore, how about you let me fuck you!" Stated the man with a crazy look as he slammed the woman's head against the brick wall behind her, leaving her dazed and dropping her to the ground while he started unbuckling his pants.

'Ugh, just ignore it.' Thought Carson with a frown as he walked away while hearing the man's words.

"Here, I've got a nice eight-inch. I'll make you feel real good, much better than fucker you were texting." Said the man with a sadistic expression while displaying his erect shaft as he reached down and grabbed the still dazed woman by her heir before lifting her up and ripping her clothes off one by one.

"L-Let go! Let go! S-Stop! Please stop, please! D-Don't do this! H-Help, s-someone help!" Yelled the woman aggressively, though as the man continued to rip her clothes, the reality of the situation hit her, and that strong facade of hers vanished when she realized she was utterly helpless to stop the man.

"Hehe, stop yelling, you whore; you'll start enjoying it soon enough." Remarked the man as he pinned the woman down onto the ground while he straddled her, rubbing his dick right on her pussy.

"P-Please, s-someone, h-help, p-please." Muttered the woman in between her sobbings, her face stricken in terror and despair as she eyed the man's dick pressing against her pussy, just one thrust away from entering her.

"Such a young woman, even if you're a whore, I bet your sti-" Said the man, though before he could finish speaking, someone from behind suddenly put him in a rear-naked choke hold while pulling him off the woman.

"Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep." Muttered Carson as he tightened his hold, choking the man who was failing around, trying to free himself, to no avail.

After several seconds of choking the man, his moving finally ceased, though I held the position for a few more seconds just to be sure he wasn't faking it, and only then did I finally release my grip, causing me to lay on the ground and sigh.

'Great, fucking great, you helped one person but doomed another; what the hell am I supposed to do now? I just choked out a gang member for a random woman I didn't know; I'm going to have to kill him; otherwise, I'm dying.' Thought Carson with a troubled expression as he looked to the sky before sighing, standing up, and dusting himself off.

"Come on, stand up, you're fine, just frightened." Said Carson as he approached the woman and outstretched his hand toward the trembling woman.

"W-Who, a-are you?" Asked the woman fearfully as she looked at Carson warily.

"Black Superman. No, I'm just a regular nigga from down the street; now, hurry up and stand up; the fool won't stay unconscious forever, and I've still got to kill him." Stated Carson as he grabbed the woman, scaring her while forcefully picking her up, not even bothering to hide his intentions, not like she was against it.

"T-Thank you; w-without you, I-I definitely would've been raped." Replied the woman with a thankful nod while she covered herself, though she was still not trusting of Carson, which was entirely reasonable given what had just happened.

"Yeah, I know, that's why I intervened; now, fuck, take this. Now get out of here." Said Carson as he clicked his tongue and took off his shirt before handing it to the woman, which she then wore, though all of a sudden, her eyes widened.

I was about to say something, but seeing her eyes widen like that, out of reflex, I turned around, and to my astonishment, I saw the man standing while pointing a gun at me; how he was awake so quickly, I don't know, I wasn't a wrestler. However, seeing that gun pointed directly at my chest, I pretty much knew I was dead; throughout my short life, I've never seen someone pull a gun out and someone doesn't end up dying.

Seeing him just wordlessly stand there while eyeing me and the woman, who was using me as a fucking human shield, internally, I was panicking; I mean, my life so far may have been trash, but that didn't mean I wanted to die, at least, let me live until I'm thirty, and if my life is still trash, I'll embrace death, but until then, I'm trying to live.

'Fuck, fuck, fuck fuck.' Thought Carson with a scowl, though he stayed calm on the outside, not showing an ounce of weakness, something he'd learned from living in the ghetto.

"H-Heh, s-so let me guess, t-this is your brother? The same brother that's been fucking your whore ass every day? T-To bad, buddy, I've got the stick." Stated the man with a crazy grin as he glanced at the woman before eyeing Carson; without hesitating, he pulled the trigger, followed by a loud bang, though by then, the bullet had long since penetrated and exited through its target.

Hearing the sound of the gunshot, I looked down, only to see a hole in my chest, right where my heart was; for a few seconds, I just stood there in disbelief that I'd really been shot and I was dying. However, I started to feel a chilling coldness creep into my body, followed by my strength fading away rapidly, causing me to fall to the ground while I tried plugging the bleeding wound.

"Tch, that's what you get fucking bastard." Said the man as he spit on Carson before pulling up his pants and running away, not wishing to be caught by police or other possible gangs.

"H-Hang, I-I'll call an ambulance!" Said the woman quickly in fear as she rummaged through her destroyed pants to find her phone.

"N-No, point, I-I'm dying." Remarked Carson weakly yet calmly, blood spewing from his mouth as he looked to the sky, enjoying its beauty for the final time.

Despite knowing I was dying, for some reason, I felt oddly calm about it, and I couldn't figure out the reason why, though I didn't dwell on it for too long, I was dying after all. Glancing at the woman who was frantically speaking to the paramedics or whoever was on the line, I hoped she'd live a fulfilling life after this; I didn't want my death to be in vain; at least let it mean something.

As time slowly passed, I felt my vision progressively get blurry, and every time I blinked, it was more difficult to open them; my death was right around the corner, and unfortunately, I didn't get to experience my entire life like in movies.

'Haa, fuck me, why the hell did I end up helping her?' Thought Carson as he closed his eyes for the last time in the middle of an alley.

'Ok, so why the hell am I not dead?' Thought Carson in confusion as he looked around, though all he saw was ethereal lights of various colors, similar to an aurora.
