Chapter -0007.

He was looking outside the window in the morning. The early morning darkness was still there along with dark clouds creating an illusion of midnight.

He suddenly remembered that he had books given to him by Xiao Ming. He pulled the book sack and opened it.

The books were in good condition and had blue paper cover with thread bindings. He picked the first book on top of the bundle.

"This is in Chinese?" He saw the title was in Chinese characters. He opened it and everything inside was in Chinese characters.

"I don't know Chinese. How am I supposed to read and learn now? Do I have to wait for Xiao Ming or should I go to the sect for help?" However, first he would have to wait for the rain to stop so he put the books away individually.

In the inventory he suddenly saw the books he individually put back now have titles on them. "Lol! I can read them this way?"

He selected the first book which had the title of 'The Art of Script's'. He was able to read it perfectly without any struggle. However, after reading 5 pages he got bored. He felt like he was back to elementary school learning alphabets and childish words associated with each letter.

He closed the book but found additional options related to it. It had READ, COPY, ENCRYPT and USE. "Use?" He created this game but now he has no idea if he put this feature in it or not.

"Use? Does it mean?" His eyes got bright thinking of the possibility but he stopped himself quickly. USE can also mean he will lose the book in process so instead of clicking on USE, he chose COPY. It needed paper and paper needed Bamboo which he had plenty of.

He quickly finished processing the bamboo and then into paper. He selected the COPY and an identical book was in his hand but yes it was new, not a true copy with blemishes or other age related signs on the original.

He was now eager to try out the USE but instead of using the original, he selected the copied version.

He felt a jolt of current running inside his brain making him numb for a second. He almost lost consciousness. Within seconds information filled his brain. The copied version was gone like he absorbed it.

He pulled the book out and like a miracle he was able to read it. He pulled another book to check out, he was able to read it but not every word was meaningful for him.

He also noticed that not every character is recognisable for him because this is not an alphabet based language. You memorise characters to improve the vocabulary.

He didn't waste time at all and quickly made a COPY of every other book and USE.

His head was spinning from all the sudden dense information in his head so he lay down to rest.

While resting he wondered why his body was sticky and smelly when he woke up. Answer came to him immediately as one of the books he absorbed was 'First Path on Cultivation'.

"So this is because of Spirit Energy. It cleansed my body of impurities and that's why I had sticky and smelly tar-like substance on me but I didn't do any so-called cultivation, then how?" He focused more and found some pills or spirit food and water can also do this.

He pulled the grain ball out and looked at it carefully. He was now sure that this grain ball has spirit energy in it. He put it back. Although he was feeling a little hungry, he will eat later and keep it to a minimum of one in a day.

He looked outside and it seems the rain will not stop and he also can't wait to read more books. He quickly made a non-foldable umbrella with bamboo and its skin.

Now he waits for the daylight and he will go to the sect and get more books. He suddenly took meditative sitting posture and closed his eyes.

"WTF?!" He opened his eyes. "Why did I do that?" He pondered and then an answer came to him.

The books he has read also have lots of instructions on how to cultivate. "Okay, but why did I do this? Like I have some old muscle memory? Did absorbing the instruction books give me muscle memory too?" He was happy to know this but also wondered if he needed to take precautions on not absorbing bad instruction books.

He let his muscle memory take over and again got into the meditative posture. His mind got silenced within a breath and his five senses opened.

His skin felt the cool air caressing him then a warm wave from the fireplace joined. He smelled the scent of burning wood, wet soil and a hint of fragrant herbs. He heard the sound of raindrops tapping on the roof and the chirping of crickets in the background. He tasted the lingering sweetness of the grain ball he ate last night, and his mind was filled with the sight of the books he absorbed earlier.

He felt a calm and serenity spreading his entire body. He took a large breath and opened his eyes. He saw brightness outside which was far more than what he expected. He looked at the time and it was past 11AM.

"Whoa! How the hell? I only took 5 to 7 breaths at least and 6-7 hours gone? Am I tripping balls?" He again looked into his new absorbed knowledge and it answered. Deep Cultivation Meditation does make you forget the flow of time around you.

He somehow felt impressed with himself because he has always suffered from concentrating for a long period of time. But now he spent at least 7 hours and it didn't even feel like it.

He jumped down from his bed and pulled the umbrella out. The rain was still going on but he couldn't wait any more. He walked out and put the wood bolt on the door.
