2 Who are you?

Park Sun-jae was unconscious until morning.

And when he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a blue sky, clear of clouds indicating that the weather was normal. Even the tides were comparatively low than before.

"Where am I?" With a perplexed look on his face, Sun-jae got up and looked around.

As a resident of this island, it was uncommon for him to question his whereabouts like this. Unless he had lost his memory after getting hit in the head or he is...

"You woke up?" A male voice resounded behind him.

When he turned around to look at the person who called him, his eyes widened in surprise.

At first glance, he looked like a normal person. But upon closer look, his upper body was only human-like while the area below his waist was all smoke. He had no legs or anything there. Only a white smoke was covering that part.

However, the most surprising part was that he looked exactly like Park Sun-jae for some reason.

"Y-You Y-You, what are you?" he asked the ghost-like creature while stammering.

"That's what I want to ask you." The ghost approached Park Sun-jae while the latter crawled backwards in fear.

The ghost continued to speak. "Who the hell are you? Why are you in my body?"

"What!? Your body?" Park Sun-jae couldn't comprehend what he was saying as he checked his physique himself.

"What the- Why are my hands so tiny? Did I become young or something?"

"No, you idiot. It's my body and you possessed it without my permission." The ghost corrected him.

"Hey, whatever your name is, your jokes are going too far. Stop it. You're just embarrassing yourself."

"I'm not joking. It's the truth." He retorted with an angry look.

"Does it even make sense that I possessed your body? It's the 21st century and you want me to believe this nonsense? Are you being serious?"

"Then, tell me this, smartass. Does my existence look to you as something nonsensical…?" The ghost-like creature pointed to himself.

"That's…"

The ghost had a plausible point that he couldn't refute. But he still couldn't believe the fact that he possessed somebody else just because he says so. His own beliefs were clashing with the reality he was in.

"What? Cat got your tongue?" the ghost said in a mocking manner.

"Well… you have a point. But how can I know that it's not my body? There's not even a mirror available here to check my face."

"Mirror? What is that? Some kind of device?" The ghost tilted his head sideways.

"Seriously buddy, are you a caveman or what? Don't you know what a mirror is!" Park Sun-jae said sarcastically.

The ghost shook his head in disagreement.

"Hah! I have no words." Park Sun-jae said with an annoyed expression. He didn't know if this ghost person was messing with him or telling the truth.

While cursing inwardly, he spoke to him. "It's a thing where you look at the reflection of your face for various purposes."

The ghost raised his eyebrows when something clicked his mind. "Oh, are you referring to that?" He pointed out to his waist and said. "There's a pouch around my- I mean your waist. Take it out."

Park Sun-jae checked and there was indeed a red pouch hanging around at the right side of his waist. He pulled it out and checked its contents.

"Inside that pouch, you'll find a colorless & transparent stone. Take that out. It's the thing you need." The ghost stated.

Park Sun-jae did as he instructed and showed the colorless crystal to the ghost in his hands. "What is this?"

The ghost-like creature replied. "It's an image stone. You can see your face in it."

"With this? Really?"

"Yes. Now, watch me closely and do the same thing I do."

The ghost closed his eyes and extended his left hand before speaking again. "Imagine that I possess the same stone as you and I placed it on the palm of my hand. After extending the hand, chant this spell – Vasu Asu Kaseil!"

Park Sun-jae observed him carefully and listened to the instructions word by word before following it exactly the same way he did. In the end, he spoke the three magic words while pronouncing it correctly somehow. "Vasu Asu Kaseil!"

Suddenly, the colorless crystal in his hand glowed and a holographic screen big enough of a T.V. size appeared. On it, Park Sun-jae's face was shown along with the background behind him with proper clearity. It was as if he was looking at the screen of his smartphone or something.

"What the hell!?" Park Sun-jae widened his eyes in surprise.

With the crystal in his left hand, Park Sun-jae touched his face with the other hand and confirmed it was not his.

The person currently possessing his body panicked. "How is this possible!? Why I have a face same as you? No. First of all, why am I in your body!?"

"Exactly! I want to hear the explanation of this phenomena myself." The real Park Sun-jae interrupted with a 'told you so' look on his face.

"Wait a second! If I am in your body, then what happened to mine?" The unknown young man wondered as he looked around once more to check traces of his actual body.

"Save your breath! I already searched the whole area. No dead corpse was found."

The young man sighed in relief after hearing the news but got disappointed the next second. "So, what now? Am I stuck in this body forever?"

"Why are you asking me? Do I look like a person who has experience in swapping bodies?" The ghost said in a sarcastic tone.

Without responding, the young man just looked at him in distress and put the crystal back inside the pouch once it stopped showing a holographic screen.

"For now, let's introduce ourselves to each other and exchange information we know. Cool?" The real Park Sun-jae suggested.

"Sounds good. My name is Kim Jae-hoon and what's yours?"

"I'm Park Sun-jae and lives in Pearl City which is located behind these mountains. What about you?"

"I am from South Korea and currently living in Seoul."

"Seoul? South Korea? Where is that?"

Upon hearing Park Sun-jae's response, the young man twitched his eyebrows. "Don't you know the Republic of Korea? It's a neighbouring country to China and Japan. Our K-pop and K-dramas are famous worldwide. How can you not know about our country?"

"I'm sorry but I have never heard about this place."

Kim Jae-hoon laughed after hearing such an unbelievable response from him. "I'm speechless."

"I don't know much about this Seoul place you speak of. But it must be somewhere from the outside world." Park Sun-jae guessed while thinking deeply.

"Outside world??"

"Yes, this place is a small island which is isolated from the outside world. Therefore, I have little knowledge about it."

"I see. Tell me about this place then and about yourself too. How did you end up here and got separated from your body as a soul." Kim Jae-hoon asked curiously.

"Well… here's the thing…"

After a bit of hesitation, Park Sun-jae briefly explained to Kim Jae-hoon how he fell off from the cliff.
