10 I'm sorry

Seeing Park Sun-jae still frowning over something that happened between them in the heat of moment, Kim Jae-hoon realised that he made a mistake.

'Park Sun-jae must have felt really bad after hearing those harsh words that were directed at him back then.' He thought to himself with a sense of regret in his eyes.

Therefore, they young man wanted to correct his mistake and persuade his friend somehow to forgive him.

After a bit of hesitation, Kim Jae-hoon spoke to him again. "Look, my friend. I'm really sorry about last time. I was in a lot of pain back then and was not thinking straight. Instead of resolving our argument in a calm manner, I bolted on you and said some harsh words in the process. So, can you forgive me this once and let go of this matter? Please!"

Upon listening to his words, Park Sun-jae finally looked at his way. "Do you think apologising to me is enough? I was just trying to help you there but you dissed me and spoke so rudely! It's bearable when you hear those insults from a stranger or an enemy."

"But when a friend says those same insults to your face, you just feel so betrayed and disappointed in yourself. Hence, I can't bring myself to forgive you. Go find your way out on your own. I'm not helping. I don't care even if my body dies or you die anymore." He grunted.

"Don't be like that, Park Sun-jae. We've come so far now. Why are you giving up on getting back to home? Don't you want to see your grandfather again?" Kim Jae-hoon asked.

"Hmph! Don't you dare bring up my grandpa here and make me a cold-hearted person in the end? If not for this damn situation, I would have already left you and eventually find my way back home somehow."

Park Sun-jae was cursing himself and the guys who did this to him. If he had never climbed down the cliff, he wouldn't have fell and become a ghost while his body got possessed by a jerk who does not know how to take care of his body.

"I know you hate me but I don't have anyone else to rely on in this world except you. Once upon a time, a great man had said – 'The worse thing than fighting with allies is that fighting the battle without them.' And, in this jungle, you are only ally I got and I can't lose you. So, please forgive me and come along with me." Kim Jae-hoon pleaded while kneeling down before him.

After seeing him going that far to apologize, Park Sun-jae flustered. "Fine, I'll come with you. So, stop doing such embarrassing things in front of me."

"Thank you, my friend." Kim Jae-hoon smiled and tried to hug him but he couldn't as he remembered the person was a ghost.

"What are you doing? You idiot." Park Sun-jae dumbfoundedly asked.

"Oh, sorry." He forcefully laughed.

"Enough with your apologies and listen carefully."

"…" The young man stopped smiling and looked at him with a serious gaze.

"I haven't forgiven you completely. So, you better get your act together and talk formally with me. I'm only gonna help you because I'm worried about my grandfather and my body that you possess. Got it?" Park Sun-jae stated with a frown on his face.

"Okay, Park Sun-jae." He replied.

"Park Sun-jae??" The ghost raised his voice while pointing out the young man's speech.

Kim Jae-hoon understood his intentions as he replied. "I mean, Understood, Mr.Park."

"That's better. Mr. Kim." Park Sun-jae smiled at long last and started walking ahead.

'He's not tough as he look.' Kim Jae-hoon softly giggled and followed the guide from behind.

As they continued their journey, they encountered more of the strange creatures on the way. Some were docile while some of them were violent in nature. However, they were able to safely avoid them since they were not as fast or strong compared to them. After experiencing the trouble last time, the duo were more cautious and more careful on their journey.

After walking for more than four hours straight, they reached a small stream of river that divided the forest into two halves. This was the borderline and the entrance leading towards the level two area of the forest which was at the opposite side of the river. That's where actual dangerous monsters reside.

"We've arrived. After crossing this river, we'll enter the level two area that I warned you about before." Park Sun-jae said in a serious tone. "The real deal begins after that. Stay on your toes."

Kim Jae-hoon nodded nervously.

"For now, let's stay here. We'll resume our journey from tomorrow." He suggested.

"Good idea."

It was already dark and the young man exhausted himself too much so that he couldn't travel an inch from here until he gets proper rest. Moreover, roaming into the wilderness at night-time was more risky since monsters had an advantage during that time and become more ferocious during that time.

To beat the chilly atmosphere around, Kim Jae-hoon started a fire and ate some berries that he acquire during his journey. Some were sweet and tasty while some tasted disgusting but compared to his hunger, this was nothing. He ate everything he had collected before drinking some water from the river.

Although it was dark in most of his surroundings, some of the moonlight was reaching the place where Kim Jae-hoon was sitting and he could see the bright moon from the gap of the trees which made the night very beautiful to experience.

'Such bliss…' He smiled while gazing at the moon.

Park Sun-jae tilted his head in confusion upon his partner smiling at a mere sight of a moon. He shook his head and concentrated on eating the berries himself.

Later, Kim Jae-hoon slept under a tree which was close by the river while Park Sun-jae decided to be on the night watch. Since he can't feel sleepy at all, he decided to take the role to protect his friend.

If something were to happen while he was asleep, his ghost partner was responsible to alert him.
