3 Does it even make sense!?

After listening to the full story, Kim Jae-hoon was stunned.

"So you mean to say that you fell off that high cliff and lost consciousness right after your body landed to the ground. Is that what you're saying, right?"

Park Sun-jae nodded in response.

"Furthermore, when you woke up, you found yourself separated from your body and couldn't enter inside it again."

"Yes. That's what happened."

"Does it even make sense!? How can you not die after falling off that height!?"

"I'm aware that my words might feel gibberish to you. Even I am having a hard time believing it myself. However, compared to what we have experienced so far, this is nothing." he said calmly.

"Well…you are right about that. But still…"

Kim Jae-hoon was in a state of disbelief and didn't know what to do about his current situation. He kept biting his nails and walking back & forth due to nervousness.

"What about you?" Park Sun-jae asked out of nowhere.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, what were you doing before this incident happened and you ended up here?"

"Me? I was chasing a criminal before we had an accident and I lost…." Kim Jae-hoon took a brief pause before blurting out the next words instinctively. "consciousness as well..."

As soon as he said those words, both of them realised something as their eyes widened in surprise.

"You were in an accident too? When did that happen?" Park Sun-jae asked.

With a dazed look, Kim Jae-hoon answered. "Um.. Last night?"

He slightly hammered his fist onto the other palm of his hand before speaking out loud. "That's it! That's the reason."

Since the same type of event happened to them at the same time and they both lost consciousness at that time, it was plausible to say that they exchanged bodies with each other when they were asleep. That's what both of them were thinking currently.

"Yeah, I've been thinking about the same theory as you do. But some things don't add up." Kim Jae-hoon said.

"What are you talking about?"

"Just think about it... why am I the only one who has exchanged bodies and not you?" He paused for a moment so that Park Sun-jae could digest everything he said before speaking again. "If we're talking about swapping bodies, your soul should have entered my body by now. Don't you think so?"

"Actually, you are correct. Why am I still wandering like a lost soul like this? It's so confusing!" Park Sun-jae scratched the back of his head like a madman in frustration.

"Forget it. Overthinking about it won't do us any good. Let's just go back to your hometown and we can discuss things at your house. For some reason, I'm starving too."

Kim Jae-hoon was suddenly transported here and became someone else overnight. In a strange situation like this, he didn't know what to do and was clueless about this place.

Hence, with no choice left, he decided to rely on this ghost named Park Sun-jae to guide him to the city and from there, he would be able to gather enough information about this unknown world.

Hearing his suggestion, Park Sun-jae smiled bitterly. "Actually... it's a bit difficult to go back through normal means."

"What do you mean?" Kim Jae-hoon halted his steps as he turned around to look at him with serious eyes.

"You see… there are only two routes to the city. The first one is to climb through that mountain cliff and get down from the other side to reach the city." He explained while pointing his finger at the very same cliff he fell from.

"So? What's the problem? Let's climb it." He shrugged and immediately advanced forward to that cliff.

"Hey, hold your horses."

Sun-jae stopped him mid-way while appearing in front of him instantly.

Kim Jae-hoon flinched. "What the- Don't scare me like that! What is it now?"

"Even if you try to climb the cliff, it won't work. The slope is too steep and we don't have any proper equipment that we can use. The rope which was tied to the boulder also came undone when I fell from there."

"Damn it!" he cursed out loud in frustration. "Then, what do you suggest we do?"

"There is another route we can take and arrive at the city in a few days. But it's a dangerous path and we might get killed before even reaching our destination."

"What route?" Kim Jae-hoon gulped nervously.

"We have to go around the mountain and pass through the forest where ferocious monsters lurk deep within."

"What kind of monsters?"

"They are beasts who are stronger than a normal human being and are violent in nature. Each one of them can tear apart any person they come into contact with." Park Sun-jae stated.

"So, are you basically telling me to commit suicide? Are you crazy? Even though it's not my body, how can you tell me to go die!"

"What do you want us to do then? There's no other way. You have to take that path or else you'll starve to death at this rate. Also, hardly anyone comes to this area. So, if you're hoping that someone might come and save us, you're just wasting time."

Park Sun-jae was right in a way. If they don't make a move soon, they'll be trapped here forever and Kim Jae-hoon will die soon.

"Fine. I will go but we need to make some preparations before that."

"I was thinking the same thing." He agreed.

Since Kim Jae-hoon was going to travel in a danger zone as Park Sun-jae claims it to be, he needed to make sure that he could at least put up a fight against any monsters if he encountered one and safely escaped from them. Therefore, preparations were necessary for him.

First, he untied the rope he had around his waist before rummaging through the pouch he had in his hands and took out the image stone he used just recently.

Park Sun-jae noticed what he was doing and asked curiously. "What are you going to do with that stone?"

"Just wait and watch." Kim Jae-hoon smirked.
