Chapter 8: Wisdom

"What do you think of joining my sect, the High Heaven Pavilion? We need a new blacksmith since your father passed away and maybe you can get even stronger so that you can protect your little sister better" the old cultivator offered, genuinely from the bottom of his heart "What do you think?"

...

"Will I be able to get stronger there even with my weak meridian network?"

"Yes, young man, if you work hard enough you can even become the strongest man under the heaven!" The old cultivator said, trying to get the gold haired kid excitedly accept as the sect seriously needed a blacksmith in that moment and to lift Mo Fan's mood a bit as well.

"Please tell me the truth..." the gold haired boy wasn't stupid: he knew very well that with his body condition, no matter how much he would work hard, he would never be able to trespass the Tempered Body boundary.

"But, I am telling the truth" The cultivator dressed in blue said, but seeing the blonde kid not believing a word of it, he continued "Don't you believe in yourself kid?"

"...no, but it's just that nobody with my same condition has ever made it..." Mo Fan mettered.

"So, you think that if nobody made it until now, you won't be able to do it?" The old cultivator said, the wisdom usual to the people of his age finally showing "How do you think the first cultivator ever started the martial path? Nobody did it before him, he was the first to do it"

"That means that you can do it too! You can be the first to reach the peak of the martial path with those body conditions!" the words of the cunning cultivator were now inspiring the young and thus inexperienced boy: he cursed himself for being so stupid and giving up almost immediately on his dream of reaching the martial peak just because he wasn't talented enough.

"And, if it helps, there's also a young boy of your age, I think, who just joined the sect. He has your same body conditions, if not even worse, but not even once did he think of giving up. For every time that he fell, he would always get up stronger than before" the cultivator by the long beard said, mentioning a youngster in particular, who had a lot in common with Mo Fan, thus wanting to assure him that he could definitely achieve his dream one day through hard work.

"Old man... so that's what you meant when you used to say to me to stop dreaming..." Mo Fan thought, after hearing the still uknown cultivator's speech, the words of his old man coming to his mind "You meant that I had to stop dreaming about it and actually do something..."

"I guess that you really believed in me for you to say that, huh" the blonde kid now looked once again at the stars, his heart now more in sorrow than before, having he discovered just how much faith and hope did the old man placed on him.

"So, I, would like to ask you another time, Mo Fan" the old cultivator suddendly said, interrupting the kid's stars contempleting "Would you like to join the High Heaven Pavilion as its disciple and best blacksmith?"

"I, Mo Fan, the son of Shu Xiaoqing and the direct heir of the harmonious blacksmith, Luo Bao, shall accept and become a humble disciple and blacksmith of the High Heaven Pavilion" the gold haired said, bowing down to the cultivator, while a tear slowly descended from one of his eyes since it had been a while from the last time he pronouced his mother's name.

"Then, I, as the eleventh elder of the High Heaven Pavilion, shall accept Mo Fan, son of Shu Xiaoqing and heir of Luo Bao, as a Special Disciple!" The old man raised his sword towards Mo Fan and, as if a king was consecrating a knight, placed it before on one of his shoulders and then on the other.

"The eleventh elder, huh?" The young kid couldn't help but think, the revelation of the old cultivator's elder sure was big "No wonder, he was able to make a 6th Order monster escape on its own so effortessly."

"Thanks 11th elder, for accepting me in the sect" Mo Fan's soave voice thanked the old cultivator while still in a position of bowing, before slowly getting up from it "But, may I ask you a question?"

"Sure, go ahead, Special Disciple, Mo Fan"

"I have a sister older than me by two years, Qing'er, and I-" Mo Fan started asking his question, only to be immediately interrupted by the 11th Elder "Oh, are you talking about the Spicy Dragon, Qing'er? I didn't know that one of the most talented disciples of our sect was the harmonious blacksmith's daughter"

"Wait, what?!" Mo Fan was startled, how could that weak and hot headed girl be, all of a sudded, one of the most talented disciples of the High Heaven Pavilion, but more importantly when did she become one?

"Oh, don't tell me you didn't even know that Qing'er was a disciple of the sect, didn't you?" The old cultivator said, deducing everything from the gold haired kid's peerless reaction.

"That bitch!" Mo Fan cursed his sister in his mind "She always wanted to join the sect, but the old man negated her that because he wanted her to follow his same path, but I guess that girl didn't obbey his words, like always, and secrectly joined the sect"

"How stupid were we for not suspecting anything when everyday she went out to play with some friend and came in the evening, all tired and some times even with some injury..." Mo Fan silently thought, faceslapping himself for his own stupidity, which lately was demonstrated to be a lot "Or maybe, just like for me, the old man knew but chose to believe in her, letting her pursue her own dreams"

"Only now do I realize, that man's wisdom was incredible..."
