12 Chapter [7] - Reversal

(A/N: Webnovel did us dirty. Now we can't fully read a book on the website and have to move to mobile. I fucking hate that. My phone doesn't have much storage capacity anymore, plus it's rather old, thus I'm experiencing app lag.

I really hope they don't change it to be like that, or I'll have to go to another platform. Anyway, let's get back to the chapter!)

------------------------------------------------------

Liang Long remained calm, his palms turning slightly as the red lightning began to become scarlet.

'Why does it seem like I'm only half in control?' he wondered.

Liang Long had a basic understanding of this power when he advanced his soul to the Open Heaven Realm.

He discovered it to be limitless, immutable, and ever-changing. He had a hunch and was intrigued, but he didn't want to jump to conclusions.

He was in a sensitive circumstance at the moment, and any other thoughts would cause him to lose focus on his current task.

Liang Long digs deeper and deeper into his understanding of the mysterious force.

He was looking for the answers he had in his heart.

He had the sensation of being progressively buried in water. The deeper and denser the water became with each step he took, pressing down on him with its crushing might.

Once he entered what he presumed to be the bottom levels of it, he felt a huge current stream wash over his soul, threatening to send him back up.

However, Liang Long is a tenacious person. He isn't the type to give up in the middle of something.

So he began to go against it, hoping to acquire some insight into what was ahead of him.

.

*Krrr*

.

Liang Long searched around for the source of a shattering noise. He heard the same a couple of times already but couldn't find where it was coming from.

'Hm? What is that?'

He noticed a dim light in the distance, just where the depths of the water appeared to be.

Whatever it was, Liang Long sensed the same energy as the weird force that lay dormant within him thanks to his ergokinesis.

He mustered all of his strength to get near to it, feeling a sensation of discovery.

As he got closer to it, Liang Long was stunned when he realized what it was!

'The blue cube! It is actually the blue cube!' He wanted to scream it out loud but remembered he was somewhat under the water.

He last saw it while he was breaking through, as it appeared above the sky alongside the mysterious red diamond-shaped crystal.

Wait a minute.

'I was certain that the blue cube was inside my soul. The inside, water, pressure, my sudden calm state of mind, this sense of familiarity around me...'

Then, realization struck him immediately.

'Isn't this place my knowledge sea?!'

.

*Huuum*

.

A bright red light blazed from above and dropped to the surface of Liang Long's knowledge sea, causing massive waves to rise and prompting him to experience a sharp pain in his head.

He cursed his own luck as he realized it was the power he sought, and it was clearly attempting to infiltrate his head. It most likely began to awaken as Liang Long began to completely grasp its mysteries.

But he didn't have time to be concerned about this unexpected circumstance as the red light faded away, leaving no sign of evidence behind it.

.

*Booom!*

.

The sky of his knowledge burst into brilliant iridescent brightness as it began to display visions of outer space. As time passed, galaxies developed, nebulae poured, surrounding them, embracing the fascinating features each galaxy possessed, and stars were created.

Liang Long was so fascinated with the magnificent view that he didn't sense something approaching him from behind.

This showcase was familiar to him. He felt that it was the work of the cosmos. Considering he understands it so well, it most likely replied in kind, as if to reward him with such a beautiful sight.

And Liang Long realized that this was incredibly beneficial to him, so he just remained there, without moving at all, concentrating on everything in order to unravel the mysteries of the cosmos.

He could plainly see it all.

He didn't mind being underwater because this was his domain to govern however he pleased.

As he was mesmerized by the images in the sky, he suddenly caught his breath and turned his head, sensing the presence of something odd.

Only to see something he didn't expect to see today.

"It's the red crystal! It really is with me, but why?' Liang Long thought deeply.

Once again, he didn't have the time to think. The steady crimson glow it emitted started to nourish his soul as soon as he gazed at it.

His entire being began to warm up, as though welcoming the mysterious energy. The red crystal then began to hover in his direction and directly pierced his chest area, opening a diamond-shaped gaping hole in it.

He felt a little trembling in his soul foundation as it entirely immersed itself in Liang Long. The countless white specks of light that surrounded his body began to revolve and concentrate in the place where the red crystal passed through.

His chest was like a black hole, sucking up all the light in his body.

His pitch-black body began to exude a deep crimson smoke, and his eyes went red, emitting a red light that rocketed toward the sky of his knowledge sea as soon as the last little speck disappeared.

"I understand it now. This is... Grand Cosmos Phantom Image."

Liang Long muttered, as he finally uncovered the truth of his power.

But he had no idea it was only part of it.

[At the same moment as Liang Long experienced profound enlightenment]

"What do you think?" Luo Lan questioned, turning her head to the side and glancing at Long Tian.

"Risky. I'm not sure what to expect as an outcome." Long Tian spoke while holding his chin with his left hand.

He hoped Liang Long had discovered a means to regulate his strange power, but there was always the possibility of failure.

And if he fails, the world's condition will be radically altered. Liang Long's influence has already jeopardized the world's stability. If it is unleashed at an unmanageable stage again, the repercussions are unthinkable.

But one thing is certain: if he indeed fails, this will probably be the end.

"Should... Should we sacrifice our vitality to try to save this universe world? We've reached the pinnacle of the Open Heaven Realm. Perhaps, half of our lifespan might make it recover." Luo Lan proposed. She had grown fond of this world since she first began to reside in it with Long Tian and Li Ming Yue all those years ago, and witnessing its current state grieved her heart.

"No! Even if we do, the Mystic Fallen World is nearing the end of its natural lifecycle."

"It would normally last more than five thousand years, but due to Liang Long's unprecedented arrival, it began to change significantly, eventually becoming what we see now." Long Tian said, his heart saddened by the world's precarious condition.

However, there was nothing the two of them could do.

"Besides, let's wait till Liang Long accomplishes what he wants to do. He's a mystery even to us, so he might be able to keep it alive for a little while longer until we're ready to depart."

They now had no choice except to leave this universe world. Li Ming Yue had a complicated expression on her face as she looked up at the black sky.

She recalls the happy days she spent amidst this world's breathtaking landscapes. Doing her responsibilities and investigating every inch of the place she was already familiar with from her many trips.

There were many good memories made, but she knew that all good things must come to an end one day, and it appears that today is that day.

It's been two hours since Liang Long started to meditate.

.

*Huuu*

.

They suddenly detected a massive energy fluctuation coming from Liang Long.

"He finished." Long Tian spoke solemnly.

"Was it a success or a failure?" Luo Lan inquired, hoping that he had succeeded.

A bright red light illuminated the space where the three of them were staying. The dark, melancholy clouds above began to swirl in his direction as he slowly levitated to the sky, producing a giant vortex of clouds exactly at the center of his figure.

.

*Rumble!*

.

The clouds first unleashed reddish lightning bolts. But, surprisingly for everyone, none of them struck the land below.

.

*BOOM!*

.

Many of them instead hit Liang Long's pitch-black body. But, just as it was about to strike him, he lifted his right hand in a hand seal while his left hand remained motionless around his stomach area, making another hand seal that seemed to directly link to his soul.

"Everyone! Launch your qi to the sky! I can't do it by myself!" With his eyes closed, Liang Long yelled. He needed to focus in order not to lose control.

Luo Lan, Long Tian, and Li Ming Yue did not question him since they could tell he was not playing games.

When Li Ming Yue raised her fair hand and launched a dark purple qi into the sky, it abruptly changed course, and she was shocked to lose control of her own qi. She plainly felt it no longer belonged to her and was perplexed as to how that could be.

She decided to shrug it off and just concentrate on providing more.

Luo Lan and Long Tian were also taken aback by what had occurred, but they didn't have the time to investigate further.

So they followed suit.

Long Tian's qi was dazzlingly white, whereas Luo Lan's was light purple. They didn't actually lose control since they merely felt like their qi was being tugged by an unknown force.

They didn't try to resist it and simply let it go.

.

*BOOM!*

.

Because of the high concentration of qi given by them, the crimson lightning bolts began to grow in size and density.

Liang Long wasted no time in changing his hand seals one after the other.

Because of the hand seals, the lightning bolts that had struck him up to now were not scattered by him but were progressively retained within him.

The hand seals he had just produced were a type of activation sequence for the method he had learned while recalling the Grand Cosmos Phantom Image on his knowledge sea.

.

*Huum!*

.

As his hollow eyes became crimson for a single second before returning to their original white hue, a brilliant red glow emerged on both of his hands.

.

(A/N: It resembles the Avatar state, but with red eyes.)

.

"The leading cause of chaos, like the truth it obscures, like the immutable law it performs." He said slowly, his eyes flashing blue, green, and red.

"Now!" Liang Long

The red light in his palms was gradually turning a deep crimson. The qi's focus was beginning to kick in, as it was now emitting a faint, cracking lightning sound.

.

*Boom!*

.

It busted out!

Casting its crimson hue everywhere around the winter zone. The natural disasters all seemed to be halted, just like how every object would stop if time was paused.

Then something happened that astonished them all.

The chaotic energy was being reversed back to its original form. The devastation in the area was slowly being restored as if it had never happened.

However, that was not what shocked them.

In the next few seconds, they saw the impossible happen right before their eyes.
