10 The Despairing Farewell

"Now, go. Return to Forest Beast Sect and make me proud."

Iwan told Old Pudin while biting onto his lips.

'I can finally put an end to this pathetic story of this talentless being called Iwan.'

Iwan had finally decided on how he will close the chapter of his worthless self.

"Mhuum~" "( I will become the Sect Leader of the Forest Beast Sect and take you in as my personal disciple.)"

'Hah, I wish.'

"Oh! Then, I will wait for that time, my future teacher."

After announcing his goal, Pudin gave a long-lasting look at Iwan with his dark black eyes which had been the downfall of many female bears of Siberia.

Old Pudin then took out a piece of paper that had ninety-nine different kinds of beast drawn on it.

"A Beast Teleportation Card?"

The beautiful lady was shocked and shouted in awe while looking at the piece of paper that Pudin was holding between his paws.

"That's only given to the extraordinary talents of the Sect. Even the elders won't get this kind of card in other sects. The sect leader of the Forest Beast Sect must value your bear a lot."

She went on and on, but all of her words failed to cause a reaction to appear on Iwan's face.

'So, he knew about the card's value.'

"Indeed. It is indeed an item that has an unimaginable value."

Iwan replied with a proud look as he gently placed his hand on the head of Old Pudin.

"But, this guy isn't any less deserving of such an item."

Iwan showed a smile to Pudin, who was already crying. While praising Pudin, Iwan could feel a heartache that was foreshadowing his end.

A drop of Old Pudin's tear fell on the teleportation card and caused an intense trembling among the beasts that were drawn on the card.

The card glowed with different blinding lights as the beasts surrounded Old Pudin.

Amongst the beast was a giant black bear with a lightning bolt glowing right above his right eyebrow.

Others would have definitely mistaken him for a wizard but not Iwan.

'That's the shadow of Mary Potter, The Warrior Bear from the Legends.'

The bear's shadow stopped right above Pudin's head while the other beasts roared at it.

Each beast's roar carried out a small energy cloud that flew to Mary Potter with the gigantic shadow.

After ninety-eight energy clouds gathered on the potter's palm, his shadow grew darker as a portal opened up through him as the medium.

"It's time."

Iwan looked at Pudin with wet eyes and a sincerely apologetic look.

"Mhuum~"

"Yes, If fate wills, then we will meet again."

"Farewell, My Friend, Old Pudin!"

Pudin waved his paws at the beautiful lady instead of Iwan and disappeared through the shadow of Mary Potter above his head.

"Fwoosh~"

An instant. That is all it took for him to vanish from his spot.

"I hope he reaches the Forest Beast Sect safely."

"You don't have to worry. Your bear is already there. That's how the teleportation cards work. They are too rare, but their power and efficiency are also remarkable."

The beautiful lady explained to the worried Iwan without knowing the decision that he had reached inside his head.

"I see."

Iwan mumbled with his fist clenched so hard that blood dripped from the tightened fist.

"What happened?"

The beautiful lady realized that something was going on with Iwan.

"Nothing. That's the end of my past. These last five years, the Portals and the Sects' appearance was like a crusher. My hopes and goals have always been crushed no matter where I went. The betrayals I went through couldn't even come close to the humiliation I have accumulated in these last five years. Hahaha~"

Iwan laughed with a disappointing look, but this is what his life was all about.

"Till you live, there will always be some way. A road just for you to shine on. You only have to find it. You just have to step on it. So, don't give up."

The beautiful lady encouraged Iwan with a serious glance. She couldn't imagine seeing a person like Iwan giving up. She had already learned everything about the young man in front of her. That alone was enough for her to come to a judgment.

"You are neither a useless person nor a talentless individual."

The lady grabbed Iwan's hand. Iwan would have loved an action, but at the moment, he could only stare at the goddess in front of her with lifeless eyes.

"Lady, I thank you for listening to my past. Albeit boring, it is something that I have lived through. It's a part of me."

Iwan slowly pulled his hands back from the lady's grasp.

Finally coming to terms with his life, Iwan could feel the burden he was carrying crushing down his bone.

"Ah~"

He could feel countless parts of his body aching, as though they were letting out their last bit of frustration before entering the absolute peace.
