1 Chapter 1 (Choices)

It has been two days since the management team have given me their precious patient. The father of xx company`s CEO . His case is pretty serious . He has been on dialysis for almost four years not only that but he survived his third cardiac arrest year ago .He was diagnosed with diabetes eight years ago . Now that man is on ventilator after going through fourth cardiac arrest last night with three broken ribs due to prolong CPR . His blood culture was positive about a month ago and no one followed up on that .Now the man has Pseudomonas due to which his lungs can collapse anytime and he is unconscious because of streptococcus in his blood which damaged his brain .

There is no saying that he will live if I remove him from ventilator . Actually we were not informed that he had already gone through three cardiac arrests or else we would have never done the prolong CPR . On the contrary we are doing nothing but putting him in much pain .

Even if I order tracheostomy and remove him from ventilator after observing and treating him for 21 days .

There are nill chances for him .

For now I will run MRI for further case and also speak with his family . First of all I don't understand why would the hospital known for kidney and liver would give me a Neurologist this case .

I guess they want to stamp an exit on my profile and make me fly back to my home country .

They don't know yet that my father was in same position before he died . The same case .

It is as if my father`s case has opened again but this time I am the one in charge of him . I promised myself that day that No matter what I will never say that my patient will die as long as he is breathing even if with machines.

I will do everything to safe this man and then I will go back on months trip to my home country with this case and then teach him how a doctor ask a God to give him a life of his patient .

''OH GOD PLAESE I ASK YOU TO GIVE THIS MANS LIFE BACK , PLEASE FOR ME GOD.''

With that prayer I started working on his case ..

-After two months .

According to others I am barely keeping him alive but for me I know that I have cured him a lot or shall I say the homeopathy medicine along with treatment worked.

He is not on ventilator anymore , he is keeping his blood pressure stable and also his conscious response is better .

He is not fully conscious but he partly is .

I am sure if I keep working on him day and night he will get better to the point where he will be conscious .

And for me that is my goal for now .

I am a Neurosurgeon working everyday peacefully in the hospital of Tokyo . I started working here after completing my six years degree of medicine and surgery and two years of specialization and now I am working as well as studying further to become a complete neurologist after that I will be working on cancer.

I have been in Japan since nine years.

I came here right after the death of my father .

After three months I will be going back to my mother .

She wants me to get married already since I will be turning 28 this year and I have never dated a man my whole life .

I don't want to get attach with anyone or to rely on a person other than me since I know very well that everyone including me will die leaving nothing but memories for those who loved me or for those I have loved .

I don't need that .

I don't want to feel that pain anymore.

I am sure she will force me to marry this time .

I can`t do anything but let out a sigh at times like these.

-AFTER FOUR MONTHS.

The man has recovered not fully but he is fully conscious now ,talking , eating by himself and going for some fresh air everyday on his wheel chair .

As usual I am going to him for his daily check up and progress report.

'Hi, Sir Kim . How are you feeling today ..

Any complains ? Any progress ?'

'No everything is good. ' he replied calmly .

'Then as per your request you can go home but under our assistance . We will provide you with our best staff who will assist you and take care of you as per my orders and will provide me your daily reports .'

'Would you like to request anything else ?' I asked politely while smiling at him .

'Can I have a minute of your time Miss Yona ?' he asked with a serious business type face .

Not knowing how to reply I nodded my head and the nurses left the two of us alone .

' I am sorry to say but I know everything about you . Your mother is Seriously ill and the family from your father`s side has filed cases against your mother to receive your father`s property ,

In these type of cases you need authority which only I can provide you on a condition of If only

You marry my son .

It`s not a bad deal for you miss Yona and sincerely my son is a good person all I Want for him is to settle with a good women and have a family .

I am not waiting for your response but here`s my card .

You can go home now but think about it .' HE SAID ALL OF THAT STRAIGHT FORWARDLY LIKE HE IS TAKING CARE OF A BUISNESS PROBLEM .

'Yeah , Thank you Sir . Hope you take care of yourself .

With that said I put his card in my pocket , closed his file and left his room .

Like seriously , anything!

I can`t believe how people have turned out to be around me .

You can`t just go around saying to random people to marry your child or something .

Uff thank god I can take care of myself .

And lastly I can actually go home now , There is only one thing left and that is my 24 hour shift before a week off.
