Chapter 14-The Mage From The Holy Church

Since I said that I would never cease being a witch, the maids and other household staff have feared me for a few days. When I heard them talking about false facts about witches, I scowled. I couldn't help but ignore their misleading information and walk on by. Zain could do nothing except gaze at me as I came across him in the hallway. I am aware of the difficulty of his position as a knight commander. He felt bad for me but couldn't do anything about the Holy Church's laws.

I may have made the biggest mistake of my life, but I don't regret it. I drew a breath and left the palace's stuffy atmosphere. I returned to the location where a tree was planted when I was Serena. It's hard for me to believe I'm using this broomstick once more. Even though I might run into Xavier, I don't care anymore. I was initially worried that I might end up killing Xavier. I'm not sure why he followed the path of a vampire, the mortal foe of humanity. I landed on the front of the tree. To my surprise, when I touched the tree's trunk, I noticed our names written there. So, even after we made a promise in the past, Xavier was still holding on. I sensed a presence in the forest after I finished examining the tree. This was not just any presence. I turned around and noticed a female mage pointing a staff at me.

She uttered a question in a serious tone, "Who the hell are you?" She was complaining of pain as I left a red stain on her forehead by flicking her forehead and grimaced. I replied in a sarcastic tone, "I'm just a witch stopping by. This tree is too lovely to ignore. " The mage's back flipped away from me as her eyes widened. She began casting enchanting spells, but my movements were quicker than her chant. With a quick snap of my finger, I eliminated it.

I took a deep breath and shot her a stern glance. I akimbo in disbelief. "I'm not here to fight; as I've said, I'm here to observe the tree. Why is it that so many people have preconceived notions about witches? " I am aware that the mages will never regard me with respect. After all, we are the opposite of one another. A holy weapon was unleashed as she arched her brow. I maneuver my broomstick to avoid her blows and I dodge her attacks. I was perched on the broomstick and standing. I studied her appearance and was not shocked to see the Holy Church's emblem on her right arm. From the broomstick, I leaped and kicked her right into the tree trunk. My eyes squinted, and I asked in a grave voice. "But why are you here, Mage from the Holy Church?"

"It's none of your business, witch!" She growled, turning her staff into a sword and casting an enhancement spell on it. My patience is being severely tested by her, then. She yelled and charged an attack at me, saying, "I wish I didn't have to use this weapon, but you already pushed my means to their limits!" "Die, witch!" Unexpectedly, Zain showed up and saved me from the female mage's attack. The actions of the mage incensed him. Zain's action startled the female mage.

The female mage was startled by Zain's question as he yelled angrily, "Who the hell are you to hurt Her Royal Highness?" The female mage suddenly panicked and kneeled to the ground. "Her Royal Highness? Are you kidding me? There's no way Her Royal Highness would go out and profess herself as a witch!" she exclaimed.

My arms were crossed. I'm not like other princesses. She'd be aware of that. I said in surprise, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not your typical witch or princess, you know?" She moved toward Zain and nearly choked him before barraging him with inquiries. "I thought witches were old, smelly, ugly creatures, so please don't tell me she's the witch you were asked to search for in Glaustein? She's too beautiful to be a witch!"

To help the female mage relax, Zain turned to face me. These are the beliefs and teachings of the Holy Church regarding witches. I turned to face Zain, who belonged to the Holy Church. I spoke in an irritated tone. "How cliché, but merely hearsay, that this is how the Holy Church describes witches, Zain." I've never experienced such insults in my life. Zain gasped when he noticed the innocent grin I had on my face prior to killing vampires. He turned to the mage and calmed her down.

"Maizie! Hey! Calm down! It will only irritate Her Royal Highness!" Zain yelled in panic. I felt a familiar presence before I could activate the Metamorphosis. When I realized it was Xavier, my eyes grew wide. Zain and Maizie tense up and get their weapons ready. "Serena, get away from them," Xavier said in a serious voice. Zain used his sword to shoot out light blades at Xavier. We were stunned when Xavier used a cherry blossom stained with blood as a barrier to divert Zain's attack.

I replied, "Xavier, don't do this! You'll only hurt yourself!" When Xavier appeared behind me and carried me like his bride, my eyes widened. We teleported into the noble vampire's lair as soon as Xavier whispered, "I won't let you go again, Serena," sending a chill down my spine. I am aware of that, but the situation has changed. We are rivals. As a witch, I have a duty. That is to protect our country from vampires. "Maybe I was your lover in our previous life, but that doesn't change the fact that I am your enemy in this one, Xavier," I said. I let go of the metamorphosis and it became a gun in my hand. I directly pointed it at his chest. My cheeks are filled with tears. Xavier grinned and moved toward me. He gave me a tight hug. "Serena, I know you can't kill me," Xavier whispered in my ear.

My forehead was flicked, and when I opened my eyes, I was lying on a bed. Rowan, my older brother, is standing by my bed. He was anxious. Big Brother Rowan exclaimed, "At last you're awake, Epiphany! I thought you'd be in a casket again." I saw Zain enter the room with a silver staff in his hand. It is intricately designed and contains Magialine.

Typhon leaned against the window and dropped a question. "What happened back in the forest? Why is that royal vampire interested in Her Royal Highness? And why does he call you Serena?" I gripped my blanket hard. If I tell them, they will be in grave danger. But they will keep interrogating me about this matter. I guess I need to manipulate the truth again. But it will not affect Typhon. What should I do?
