Chapter 12-The God of Death

After fighting the grim reaper, I saw myself in front of a door in Alethea’s dimension. I got curious and tried to hold the doorknob. Before I could hold the knob, Alethea stopped me and got a serious look on her face. “Whatever happens, do not open this door!” Alethea speaks in a yelling manner. I got confused by Alethea's strange behavior.

What’s wrong with this door? I walked away and ignored the door. Time passed by, but Alethea’s dimension was filled with silence. Nervousness lingers in my head. If I die, that’s the end of my misery. Also, it is the sign that I failed to get revenge I've been plotting for. “Alethea, how many hours do I stay here in your dimension?”

Alethea looked at me. The anxiousness is written all over her face. “I don’t know. Time doesn’t exist in my dimension. Thanks to your dumbness, in your world it will take a lot of time to recover. The god of death doesn’t know that his reapers don’t collect your soul. You’ll be fine!” Alethea said in an assuring manner. My eyes widened when she mentioned the god of death. What the freaking hell? Alethea must be out of her mind?

“You are telling me you are creating a war against the god of death?” I spoke out of shock. I facepalmed out of frustration. I lay down on one of her couches, wondering what’s happening outside my consciousness. Meanwhile, a purple light from above showed up. He landed in front of us in such a glamorous style. His black hair was swaying like a piece of silk. His eyes can be compared to garnet. It looks like I’m looking at a precious gem. His black clothing is elegant and can’t be compared to any style I’ve seen in my entire life.

The god of death frowned as he saw Alethea. Alethea was a dead malice and summoned her favorite cup of tea. “You stole again my precious soul, Alethea. I wonder what you are plotting this whole time?” The god of death speaks with elegance but a serious tone. Alethea let out a fake laugh and ignored the god of death. The god of death was pissed off. The god of death released a strong wind that made the tea pour over Alethea’s face. The god of death laughed as he was pestering Alethea. I hope Alethea won’t add some problem that will stir up the commotion against the god of death.

“I really hate you, Methusael! You dare you waste my tea?” Alethea spoke in a furious tone. She was irritated as she cleans herself. Methusael raised his eyebrows and looked at me. He facepalmed and shouted at Alethea. “You are insane! She was supposed to be dead! Yet, you killed my reaper just for her soul? You’re crazy, Alethea!” Methusael spoke in a disbelieving tone. The god of death akimbo his arms out of frustration to Alethea. I can’t expect that this would happen. The god of death looked at me and, out of a sudden, he dashed in my direction. He carries me like his bride and he flaps his black feathered wings. The black feathers from above have fallen to the ground. Alethea screamed, summoned her staff, and made a direct attack. I yelled at Alethea for her attack.

“Alethea, you’re an idiot! Do you want me to die?” I spoke in a yelling manner. Alethea rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders. “Why do I hesitate to burn Methusael with you? You are dead for a moment. Remember, you are just a soul traveling to my dimension?” Alethea speaks in a carefree manner. I squinted my eyes and threw a glare at Alethea. I cracked my knuckles, and I answered Alethea’s reply with irritation. “Well, I guess I just let the other gods get my revenge. I just let my soul be collected by Methusael and marry him!”

Methusael dropped me on the ground because of the shock. The god of death covered his face and looked at me with an unexpected reaction. His face was flushing red, maybe because of embarrassment. Methusael was messing up his hair and shouted at us. “You’re crazy like Alethea! You’re driving my insanity out of control!”

The god of death flew away and left us dumbfounded. Alethea hit my head using her fist. I can sense the nerve-wracking anger from Alethea. She lectured me while her arms were in akimbo. “You offer marriage to Methusael? Does your head hit the ground? Do you think he will spare you from death? Nein!”

Alethea took a deep breath and facepalmed at what I had done. I crossed my arms and looked at Alethea. She shouted and slammed the table in front of her because of frustration. “Just go back to your body! Use that door!” I lost count on how many times I raised my eyebrows because of confusion. I looked around, and I saw there were two other doors. I looked at Alethea, still venting out. “Then I shall take my leave.”

Before I could touch the knob, Alethea, leave a warning. “Serena, you should not offer a god to marry you or else you will be trapped in other dimensions where everyone could forget your existence.” I waved at Alethea and entered the door. I walked through the dark path, straight to where the bright light came from. I don’t know what is the end of this path. All I know is I will return from the place where I came from. I closed my eyes for a moment as the bright light stunned me.

When the bright light faded, I opened my eyes, and I saw myself laying down on the open casket. I sat down and I was surprised by the crowd's scream. What the hell? They are freaking grieving for my death! I looked around until I saw Prince Sol standing in front of me. His tears fell on his face. My eyes widened because I didn’t expect that he would shed a tear at my funeral. I revoked my senses when I realized I was still sitting on a casket. “I was declared as a dead person?”

Prince Sol wiped his tears using a silk handkerchief, and out of a sudden, hugged me tight. I don’t know how to react to this awkward situation. The last time I saw him was during our fight while I was escaping them. My face was flushing red and my heart beat faster than normal. “Hey! Stop hugging me!” I speak in a surprised tone.

He stopped me, and I stopped complaining. “Shut up! After the news that you sacrificed your life by saving Prince Rowan, I regret not telling you a word.” Prince Sol spoke in a serious tone.

I pushed him back and looked him in the eyes. I crossed my arms and I couldn't believe what my ears were hearing. He continues speaking in a serious tone. “Now that you are alive, you can hear it from my mouth. You are really an idiot.” He still has that gut. I was annoyed and spoke to him about what I felt.

“Good thing I woke up just to tell you I still despise you!” I speak in a sarcastic tone.

I stood up and walked away from Prince Sol. Before I left the funeral hall, I returned to Prince Sol and slapped him hard on his face. I can’t believe that guy! He has the darkest soul among them all! I started running in the hallway and the maids and servants rubbed their eyes in shock. I can’t blame them. They saw and heard me dead, but here I am, running around like nothing happened. I saw the guards chasing me again. Good thing they regain their senses. When I took a detour, I saw Typhon talking with another girl. Typhon’s eyes widened, and he also joined the chase. I looked at them and smiled. I guess my life will be a chase-and-catch cycle.
