Chapter 5 : Where are you Ai Lin?

In A City

In a conference room of a high rise building, a meeting was conducted. Tense atmosphere permeated the room. No one dared to produce any sound or noise as they faced Lu Qi Feng's rage.

" What's with the sales this month? As far as I know we received a lot of demands from our clients. But why is the sale's percentage dropped so much?" Lu Qi Feng didn't yell nor scream out of his lung, but his icy voice made everyone presence shuddered.

As it was planned, everyone kept mum. They didn't have enough guts to voice out their answer because they knew whatever answers given wouldn't be accepted.

They were all aware with their boss's temperament. Every time he was not in a good mood, he would never listen to anyone. Although he might look calm, but every words he uttered would left heavy remarks to anyone listened to it.

But he rarely like this. Only once in a blue moon. They didn't know who triggered their boss's rage this time. The last time he was like this was a few years ago when his best friend dated one of his clients. He was so mad to the point the office was very silent for almost a week. The employees didn't even dare to talk to each other during working hours.

But this time, his rage was longer than before. It was already over a week and there was no sign he would stop.

" No answer? Fine! I can wait. As long as I don't receive any explanation, no one will go home today." With stern look, Lu Qi Feng leaned on his chair.

All the subordinates looked at each other. Some even looked at their watch. It was already almost 10 pm and this meeting had been conducted for more than 7 hours. They were all tired and sleepy but what could they do?

Finally after almost 15 minutes of silence, someone volunteered to give an explanation.

" Director Lu, it was true we received a lot of demands. We even received demand from new potential clients but our production team would not be able to meet the demand and dateline. That's why we only accepted deals with existed clients."

" You're not answering my question. I repeat. Why the sales dropped?" With an icy gaze, Lu Qi Feng uttered the sentence word by word.

" This.. This.. I.." The subordinate flustered. He didn't knew what kind of explanation he should gave.

And at that time, a clear and loud ringtone was chimed.

Everybody were shocked. Whose phone was that? They could only pray for the owner longevity.

However after a few seconds, they let out a relief breath after Lu Qi Feng took out his phone from his pocket. Fuhhhh, fortunately it's not theirs.

Looking at the caller identity, his eyes full with anxiety. He couldn't wait to answer this phone call.

" Meeting is adjourned."

Upon hearing that sentence, everybody got out of the conference room as fast as lightning. No one was willing to stay for even one more second.

" Speak." Once he left alone, he answered the phone with urgency.

" Boss, I already visited her last clients. But there's still no progress." A monotonous voice was heard.

" What do you mean no progress?"

" He said the last time she contacted him was the day she went missing. She sent him proofs of his wife's scandal. But after that he heard nothing from her. Even when he sent message to her to ask about her payment, she didn't reply. After that he tried to call her but it didn't connect. The last email from her was at 5 pm that day."

Lu Qi Feng stayed silence. His face full with worry. She didn't reply even when the client asked about her payment? It's so not like her. To her, money was her baby. But why…

" What about her phone? You still couldn't detect it?"

" Her phone was last detect at the south. But after I arrive, the phone was no longer there and I unable to detect the signal anymore."

" Okay, I understand. Keep going with the investigation. I want to know her whereabouts as soon as possible. I don't believe she's going somewhere without informing me. There must be something happened to her."

After ending the call, Lu Qi Feng went blank. He couldn't think anymore. He felt like a lifeless person right now. Without her, he unable to be himself. He felt like his soul was robbed away from him.

He stared at his phone for quite a long time. He re-read the last message she sent him repeatedly.

'Feng ge, I'm sorry I don't think I can attend your engagement party tonight. I have a job today but I promise I'll come if I finish the job early.'

It had been over a week she went missing and he had not hear anything from her. He was terribly anxious right now. She never been like this. She never made him worry about her.

Where are you Ai Lin? Please come back safely. Don't make me worry anymore.
