Chapter 27 : I MISS YOU

In a backyard of the house, Ai Lin was lost in thought. Although there was a huge flower garden before her eyes, she only sat under a gazebo, staring into space, ignoring the beautiful view.

She was unsure how long she had been there but as long as she could remember, she'd been here ever since Mu Zihan left the house. Even though Mu Zihan said he had to handle some work matters but she knew that wasn't it. He obviously went out for that man, Ni Tao.

She's aware he had been restless and uneasy after hearing the report from Secretary Lu. To be honest she was also scared with the possibility she might get assassinated again and had been in a trepidation for a few hours. Even she had seen it's coming, yet her fear wouldn't stop disrupting her peaceful mind.

At first she thought she might get some help from her friend but after unable to contact that friend, she's also became restless. Her calm demeanor long disappeared together with her confident. Now, she was anxious. She might lost her life anytime sooner.

She knew Mu Zihan and his men were working hard in tracking the assailants but Mu Zihan had helped her a lot. She didn't want to burden him more. Moreover, the assailants were targeting her, not him. So how could she let him be in danger just because of her selfishness? She needed to find a way to solve this problem of hers.

" Miss Tang."

A loud and deep voice startled Ai Lin. Her body jolted a bit before turning her head to the owner of the voice.

" I'm sorry for startling you. I called you a few times but you didn't react." Butler Na smiled apologetically.

" It's okay. It's my fault for not paying attention to my surrounding. Anyway, why do you call me? Is there something the matter?"

" Master calls and wants to talk to you." Butler Na gave the phone in his hand to Ai Lin before retreating.

" Hello," Ai Lin answered the call after Butler Na's silhouette disappear from her sight.

" Why do you take so long? What are you doing?" On the other side, Mu Zihan asked sulkily. He waited too long to hear her voice and he disliked that.

" I'm enjoying my time outside at the flower garden. Why do you call me?"

" Because I miss you."

"…"

" Ai Lin." Mu Zihan called her name again after not getting any answer from her.

" What?"

" Did you hear what I just said?"

" Enn."

" Then why are you not saying anything?"

" What should I say?"

" You should say I miss you too. I've been working hard in the office to earn money for both of us and I miss you so much."

Ai Lin's face warmed. She was sure right now her cheeks already turned red due to the sudden ' I miss you' declaration from Mu Zihan. Her lips curled up forming a gentle smile. She didn't know why but she was happy at his declaration. However, how could she let him knew that. " I've never ask you to earn money for me. I can do it myself. Moreover, why should I say I miss you when in fact I don't?"

" Ouchhh. Ai Lin you break my heart. It hurts so much."

Ai Lin giggled at the exaggerated act of Mu Zihan. " Enough with the joke. Why do you call me? If there's nothing I will end the call."

" I'm serious though. I really miss you and yet you want to end the call. You're really heartless don't you? Can't you just say you miss me too? Hmmphhh!"

Ai Lin laughed again. This adult man was really one of a kind. Only by not saying the simple 'I miss you' he sulked like a kid. Was there any other men who acted like this as well? She doubted if there's really any man who acted childishly like him. [ author: Tchh. There are a lot of men who act childishly in front of their love's one. It's just you who's still an amateur in love.]

" You laugh? You dare to laugh?"

" Okay, okay. I will stop laughing. Don't get angry."

" Hmph!"

" Mu Zihan.."

" Zihan…"

" …"

" You really don't wanna talk to me? But I miss you and I want to hear your voice. Should I find another man to be my fiancé?" Ai Lin said coquettishly. She intentionally teased Mu ZIhan who was still sulking. She wanted to see till when he would continue his sulk.

" You dare?!" Mu Zihan raised his voice at the sudden mentioned of another man. " You listen here! If you dare to find another man to replace me I will castrate him and his family for 8 generations. I will not spare any. I…"

" Alright, alright. I'm just kidding. Why are you so serious? Anyway, why do you call me at the first place?"

" I want to tell you something. But because you said you miss me, I'll just come back and tell you at home." Mu Zihan said gleefully. He was frustrated when she said she's gonna find another man but when she told him it was a joke, he was relief.

" Hmmm, okay."

" Ai Lin,"

" Hmmm?"

" I really really really miss you."

Ai Lin chuckled. " Enn, I miss you too."
