Secretary Lu entered the study room with a solemn look without knowing what had happened earlier.

" Good morning Master, Miss Tang."

" Good morning, Secretary Lu." Ai Lin smiled sweetly at Secretary Lu, ignoring the scheming man who kept glancing at her.

" Hmm. Why did you come here this early morning? Didn't I tell you I don't want to be disturbed today?" Although Mu Zihan was grateful towards Secretary Lu as he played a part in saving his precious cheeks, but he was annoyed seeing Ai Lin smiled sweetly at him.

" This…" Secretary Lu hesitated. He paid a glance at Ai Lin and both Mu Zihan and Ai Lin instantly understood.

" I'll go out first." Although she was still mad at Mu Zihan and was still not satisfied punishing him, but she understood at times like this she should give them some space alone. Moreover, she didn't want to know something she shouldn't know.

" It's okay, you can stay." Mu Zihan stopped Ai Lin. He hoped by doing this Ai Lin would see his sincerity and trust towards her. Thus, she would forget her punishment for him. " Speak."

" But.."

" Are you trying to disobey my order?" Mu Zihan narrowed his eyes and threw a dangerous glare at Secretary Lu.

" No, Master. I apologize." Secretary Lu immediately lowered his head and apologized. He knew he should listen to his master's order but Mu Zihan clearly said to conceal any matter regarding Ai Lin's assault from her the other day. He was confused but he continued with his report. "I received a call from our men who stayed on guard at Miss Tang's house and they reported the house was invaded last night."

Mu Zihan was taken aback. He thought Secretary Lu wanted to report some work matters and never expected he would spoke about Ai Lin's assailants. Initially he wanted to conceal this matter from Ai Lin and only told her after he managed to catch the perpetrator. He was worried about her safety.

On the other hand, Ai Lin stayed calm. She had predicted this before and knew this would happen now or later. She knew the assailants wouldn't stop their attempt to kill her unless she's dead. Although she didn't know who wanted her life so badly and what's their motive, but she knew one thing. Either she died or they died.

Mu Zihan stole a glance at Ai Lin, worried that she would be scared hearing the sudden news. However after seeing her calm face, Mu Zihan asked Secretary Lu to continue his report.

" It seems the perpetrator finds out about Miss Tang returns and came to her house. Fortunately Miss Tang is not staying there anymore. Based on their findings, the perpetrator sends a bunch of professional thugs to deal with Miss Tang. Our team unable to find any lead except for this tie clip."

Secretary Lu put a transparent plastic containing the tie clip on the study table.

Ai Lin took the plastic before Mu Zihan could even move. She looked at the tie clip, looking for any clues but to no avail. The gold tie clip was very exquisite and there's symbol on it. But she believed she never saw that symbol before.

" Where did they found this?" Ai Lin creased her brows. Just who the hell wanted her life?

" It was found near your entrance door. It seems they dropped it unintentionally."

" Have you find out who behind this?"

" This…" Secretary Lu hesitated. He was unsure whether he could tell her or not. Thus, he threw a glance at Mu Zihan, asking for a permission.

Ai Lin who had been focusing on Secretary Lu, followed his gaze only to meet Mu Zihan's perplex expression.

" Mu Zihan." Although she only uttered his name, but it was full with warn.

Mu Zihan let out a sigh. Looked like he wasn't unable to conceal it from her and could only tell her the truth. " Lu Ming, you can go."

Hearing that, Secretary Lu quickly exited the study room.

Ai Lin lean back on her wheelchair with her hands crossed. She narrowed her eyes and scrutinized Mu Zihan who was feeling discomfort now.

" Don't be angry. I can explain this." Feeling the sudden chill, Mu Zihan knew he should tell her everything before being punished by her again.

" Speak."

" You must not get angry at me. I do this for your sake. I don't want you to be harmed again. That's why I didn't tell you. I only found out about this yesterday."

" Okay."

After getting assurance from Ai Lin, Mu Zihan told her everything he knew about the perpetrator, Ni Tao. Ai Lin fell into silence after hearing that name. She tried to recall anything that related to that name, but she couldn't find any. She didn't know that man. But why did he wanted her dead? What grudges did he have towards her?

" Are you okay?" Mu Zihan was worried at Ai Lin's silence. He didn't know how to coax her so she won't overthink about the killer. All this while, he was the one who killed and not being killed. Thus, he really didn't know how to assure her.

" Enn, I'm okay. Zihan, can I borrow your phone?" Ai Lin returned to her calm demeanor and acted like she had nothing to do with this matter.

Mu Zihan frowned. He was worried about her but seeing her calm face made he became more worried. However, he still gave his phone to her. " Who are you calling?"

" Someone."

Ai Lin keyed in a series of number and called it. However not getting what she wanted, she only heard an operator voice. She returned the phone to Mu Zihan.

" If this number called you back, please mention my name to the caller."
