99 The King is safe

The rain pouring outside, Theodore and Maximus were waiting in the King's house. Their hand was on the sword on their waist. They have no clue about what's going to happen. The King had refused to take anyone except General Emmanuel. Theodore knew he's a great manipulator, let's see whether it works on Sargon, Theodore thought. 

He looked at Maximus, who looked so calm. 

"Why don't you go and see what's happening there?" Theodore suggested.

"Look at the guards outside, they were here to trap us here. My father knew we might follow him, he doesn't want us to ruin his plans," Maximus replied. 

"So he imprisoned us here?" Theodore asked.

"I am surprised you haven't realized it yet,"

Theodore frowned, he thought the soldiers were here in case something disastrous happens. 

"Do you think your father will return safely?" Theodore asks as he paces across the hall. He's so tired of sitting in one place.
