Fiancé

"Xavier..." she murmured.

The corner of his lips instantly turned up, adding the charm to his already exquisitely captivating face.

"What a coincidence to meet you here, Xavia. Would you like to have a drink with me?I have something to talk to you." he smiled.

Daniella immediately frowned. "I'm sorry, Prince. Im—" the words that were dancing on her mouth was stopped when the prince lift his finger.

He said solemnly, with a hint of smile, "I'm not a prince anymore."

"What?" How come a prince suddenly is not a prince anymore?? That's..... unbelievable! Unlogic! They can't just suddenly got..... fired! It's not a fucking job! And even though Xiu Ying was new here, she know royalty rules doesn't work like that in this world.

He chuckled a little, amusement covering his face when he saw Daniella's full of confusion face.

Then, he sighed. "Thats why I need to talk to you." his pleading eyes shine with hope.Oh, how can she say no to that? It was her turn to sigh. Well, she thinks, why not? It wouldn't do her any harm. But, she got to settle her biggest problem first.

"Okay,but not here. We talk at my place."she said a little bit rushingly, gesturing him to follow her.

She pull her hoodie, covering her face, before she steal a glance back, to the not-a-prince-anymore.

"C'mere. "she whispered to him, pulled him toward her, so that they are walking side by side. When he was beside her, she pulled his hoodie, covering his face too. She gave a small smile before looking ahead.

She doesn't know, his heart was beating wildly against his ribcage. He pulled his hoodie head further down as he feels his face warm. He was sure his face resembling a tomato right now. Damn! How whipped he is!

He coughed a few times, trying to gather himself up before fasten his pace so that they were side by side again.

She doesn't know as she was occupied with her thoughts. But he couldn't help his blooming happiness, and let out a love struck smile as he continued following her with butterflies flipping in his stomach.

Her apartment already in front of them, just waiting for them to take the elevator and go up. But, danger catched up with her earlier.

Boom!

A sound of a gun shooted echoing through the sky and the bullet nearly hit Daniella's shoulder, but it missed. It was clear that the one they was aiming at is Daniella. And as he realized this, he put his hand on the small of her waist, guiding her.

She was a little surprised with that warm gesture, but she couldn't care less about it. Something bigger was coming for her, and she know it was a danger she couldn't run from.

Sooner or later, she still have to face him. The one who a while ago held her fragile heart.

As she thinks about that, she grabbed his arm, pulling him behind a wall in her apartment, together with her little pets.

Her pets seemed to protest, barking and meowing loudly, but she couldn't risk an innocent live. What if one of her dear pets is the one who was shot? If that happens, she wouldn't accept that for the rest of her live.

Even though she was with them only in a very short time, but there's as if some bonds that tied her with them. So, she won't risk anybody live.

"Boys, come on. Stay here! It's dangerous, okay?! Don't follow me!!" she warned firmly to her little pets.

She tilted her head up, meeting a pair of golden eyes that she started to love.

Her eyes was still firm, holding determination, but there's somewhat something warm inside them as she looked at him.

" You, go to the highest floor. Take this." she gave him a platinum shining card, "You'll meet my brother. He knows what to do."

"Don't," she said firmly, "—do something you'll regret." her voice firmer.Somehow, she got the feeling that he will do something stupid.

He just nodded, not saying anything because he for sure won't follow that order.

She turned around and bravely step ahead,with hands folded across her chest and exclaimed, "You got me, Noah. Stop the gunshot." her tone laced with boredom. She looked at the men holding weapons in front of her. Surely, she lack in number, but for sure she could handle that men single-handedly if it wasn't for Noah.

Silence followed her voice for a moment, before sounds of shoes clicking through the ears.

"Oh, Daniella. How I miss you, darling. Its just sad that we got to meet again under this such circumstance. I hope the situation could be better." his face showed fake sadness.

She exhaled a deep breath. "You still didn't change, Noah. You're still the same man." she decided, murmuring the last part but he still could hear her.

Something strucked Noah's heart. What? How...Did she change? She.. is not the girl she used to be? That girl full of insult and selfishness?

Noah stared at her, dumbfounded for a moment. The sadness was just there for a second before they gone as she blink. Her eyes now look empty, with no emotions as she looked at her first love back.

"What do you want, Noah? We've got nothing to do with each other anymore, don't you remember?" her eyes looked at him, but somehow its look gone, and lost. "It's your words.You said it yourself."

Something strucked again in his chest, before he spoke, "We are not done, Daniella. You and your brother still owe me something." his pair of emerald eyes watching her closely.

"You know we don't do that anymore." she replied. But he keep quite.

She stared at him for a second, before nodded. "Okay, then. Give us some time. It will be done."she finally agreed.

He nodded again, and she waited for him to back off, but he never did.

She looked up at him, and saw his pair of emerald that she once loved aimed at something behind her. So, she looked back only to be greet with a hard chest. She looked up to realize that it was Xavier and he didn't look good.

She means, he certainly looks good, and hot but that expression wasn't good for this kind of situation.She just know he will do something not good with that expression of his.

"Xavier, what are you doing?!! I told you to get my brother! Why did you still here??" she whisper yelled at him. But he didn't even twitch.

"I'm not doing something I will regret."

She let out a frustrated groan.

"Who is he, Daniella?" Noah's voice sounded strained. She looked at him and answered, "He is—" but was cut off by Xavier, "her fiancé."

What the..... Fiance??! Since when did she agrees to be his fiancee? She looked at him wide eyed, demanding for explanation. But instead, she saw his smirk as he continued staring at Noah.

"Fiancé?" Noah repeated. His voice was calm now, but his eyes betrayed everything.

"Oh, you didn't tell me, Daniella? I thought I was the one you love." his face full of sad mockery.

"Yes, but—"

"Tsk tsk tsk. Well done, then. I'll go first. Hope we will meet again, sweetheart." he said as he wink before he turned with his men, retreated.

Xavier worked his jaw before stormed inside, leaving Daniella alone.

"Hey..." she called him but he was already far away. What the..... She is full of confusion. What the hell is going on just now? Well, not her problem, she guess. So she just shrugged before followed his footsteps.

Well, at least no one died this time.
