Out of her concern (Edited)

The next few days as Jeff tried to be accommodating, Amy went from bad to worse, she despised him in every way she could, and she even ate her meals at odd hours so that she couldn't share a table with him.

She coldly treated him and his friends, insulted, ridiculed, and ignored them. She made sure she was the devil in his life and she was partly successful. In every situation, she got, she embarrassed him or ignored him.

Wednesday morning found her in the streets with Lucy and Louise; they were simply walking, doing nothing as usual when she received a call from an unknown number. "Young miss, the older master…"

She stood alert. "What, what is wrong with him?"

"He had a heart attack and we can't reach young master."

"What do you mean? Has he been taken to the hospital?"

"Yes, young miss, he has been taken to the hospital, but they need money and they want to speak with his grandson but his grandson isn't picking up our calls."

"I will go meet Jeff, and make sure grandpa is safe."

Once the call was hung, she exchanged looks with Lucy. "Let's get a cab," Lucy suggested which they got and raced to Rooney Corporation. As expected the security was tight at the gate and they had to use Louise's business card and status to get in.

Since it was her first time there, she walked to the reception not even knowing how to introduce herself and since she had been warned not to mention their marriage, she had no option but to try her luck. "Hello, my name is Amandla, can I meet the CEO please?" She only hoped that she didn't sound as ridiculous as she thought she did.

The woman watched her down up and then up down. "Do you have an appointment?" Damn this question should be done away with in real-life situations. Did she look mad enough to enter the company and look for the CEO without a serious reason?

"No, but it is urgent…"

The woman signaled her to stop with her long fingernails and to say that her imagination didn't run wild would be a lie. Instead of seeing the green-painted nails all she could see were claws with green jelly-like liquid giving her the look of a monster. "Stop, we have seen a lot like you, please go look to a ghetto or a slum to stage your play on."

Ouch, the urge to jump over the counter and strangle this woman was high, but there was no time for feelings. Besides only God knows what Jeff would do to her if she did that. "Okay, fine I am his wife." That was her last resort.

The woman started to laugh as she called her colleagues. "This creature here says she is the wife of the CEO, is today April fools?"

With the frustration and urgency of the situation, her tears threatened to slip. No, she couldn't cry! What was she, a baby? As she was still whacking her brain for a choice, Stephanie walked to the counter and gave her a side look as if she was a pest. "Is Jeff in?" she asked.

The receptionist even smiled warmly at her. "Yes, Miss Stephanie."

Stephanie brushed past her and walked to another elevator on the other side and since she noticed that nobody used it, she guessed that it might be a private one. She wanted to cry and curse Jeff for putting her in this damn situation.

"How is it going?" Lucy asked her worriedly.

"They wouldn't let me and when I said I am his wife, they laughed at me." She was really out of options. Though strangling the reception still stood as an option.

"Call Jason and let him tell them to let you in, he is the president of the company, right?"

Amy nodded. "I am not so sure he will receive my call, he might be busy abroad." She dialed his number anyways and explained to him the dire situation when he received the call. He agreed and when she walked to the receptionist, a disgusted look greeted her, and even got called a whore before being directed by her.

Not having the time to walk, she ran to the elevator and went to the first floor. On seeing another receptionist, she almost screamed, her knees almost gave her away. This Jeff! She gritted her teeth. "This must be my worst day, well it's not like I have any good days anymore but this, this is simply the worst of the worst." "Excuse me, may I see the CEO?" she tried her luck again.

"Do you have an appointment?" she asked, the only relief was that this one looked sane.
