3 Engaged

The hell!, Silvia thought. This man Infuriated her. He stood up to draw out her seat for her as a gentle man. She just glared at him.

"Aren't you going to sit down, Miss Reyes?" the way he said the 'Miss Reyes' sounded mockingly to her ears.

"Do seat, let's begin the night shall we?" he added.

"In your dreams do you think I will seat and have dinner with you," she replied. He chuckled and walked closer to her.

"You know I have always liked you, Silvia. But you never gave me a chance," he continued.

"That's right. Because you don't even deserve to kiss the ground I walk on, you pig!" she replied.

"Hmmf, take it easy Silvia. I took the first opportunity when your parents decided to give you off for marriage. Let's get along now, I might be your future husband," he grinned mischievously at her.

"Even if you were the last man on earth. I prefer to drink poison and die than to marry you," she said and walked out of the restaurant fuming in anger.

...

"What the hell, mom?!" Silvia yelled. She barged into the mansion angrily and saw her mother immediately.

"Take it easy, Silvia," her mother responded.

"Take it easy?!. Gabriel Yul, of all the male species in this world, Gabriel Yul...that infamous incompetent fool," she added.

"What's with all the noise down here?" Alan asked as he came downstairs.

"If you think I'm gonna marry that man, then sorry, I'm not!" she said to her father.

"You are, Silvia," her father replied.

"I have a man!" she declared.

"What?" her parents chorused.

"You have a man. You should have told us earlier instead of letting us go through all that trouble," Alan said.

"We've been dating for some while now and he proposed to me recently and I accepted it," she showed them an engagement ring on her finger, which she bought before coming to the mansion.

"It's beautiful. How come you weren't wearing it yesterday?" her mother asked.

"I didn't wear it yesterday," she answered simply.

"Then why did you go through the trouble of attending the dinner date?, you could have just told us," her mother added.

"I wanted to see the man you were setting me up with. I was so angry because I knew I was taken already. I didn't want to tell you guys yet, I didn't want to introduce him to you guys till a couple of days time. You spoilt the surprise," Silvia explained.

"Oh I see. So when can we meet this lucky man?, do we know him?" Alan said.

"Uh-Uhm...no you don't. You'll meet him in a couple of days time, he's a really busy man," she almost stuttered.

"Okay, dear. We'll be waiting" her mother said. What has she done?, how was she going to get a man that will be willing to marry her in just a couple of days time.

Sentencia Norman, known as Cia by friends, walked into the night club. She was here to see her friends, she adjusted her spectacle as she called one of her friends on her cellphone.

"I'm here," she said.

{Okay, go to the VIP section, tell the bouncers you are here for me. I already told them I was expecting a lady, so they will allow you immediately. You will see us as soon as you enter}, A voice from the other line said.

"Okay" Cia responded and did as she was told.

"There's our doctor!" Silvia exclaims immediately she saw Sentencia, Olivia just smiled.

"Are you girls drunk already?" Cia asked as she puts her phone into her black jacket pocket.

"No we aren't," Silvia said and Cia smiled. She sat with them.

"I can't drink too much. I have a surgery appointment tomorrow," Cia informed.

"Okay, okay," Silvia replied as she began to pour a drink for Cia.

The girls were the complete opposite of each other but they were the complete definition of that strong force and love of true friends.

Silvia was a heiress with a strong personality and she was a cold one, Olivia was a sweet, innocent and submissive person and Cia was the worrywart always looking out for the other girls, that was how she was, she cares and worry too much for everyone around her.

Silvia and Olivia were of rich backgrounds, their parents were friends until an incident that took place years ago. It broke the friendship and Olivia's family doesn't approve of her being friends with Silvia.

Cia's mother used to be the housekeeper of the Reyes family until she passed away joining Cia's father. She was an orphan now and only got this far in life due to the Reyes. Her mother died when she was fourteen, the Reyes took her in and took care of her, she would be forever grateful to them.

"Guess what girls?. My parents wants me to get married immediately," Silvia started.

"It's not the first time," Cia laughed.

"No, no...they want me to get married like now. They even arranged a blind date for me, I got there and guess who I saw..." Silvia trailed on and the girls looked at her so interested.

"Gabriel Yul," Silvia added and started laughing.

"I wouldn't even marry his more handsome and competent younger brother, talkless of him," she continued and she didn't miss the frown that appeared briefly on Olivia's face.

"What's wrong Olivia?" Silvia asked

"Yeah, you have been quiet since I got here?" Cia added.

"No, it's nothing really," she replied them.

"Are you sure?" They asked her again and she nodded.

"Okay. Well, I told them that I was engaged," she said and started laughing again. She stopped abruptly and looked as if she wanted to cry.

"They want to meet him in a few days time. How am I going to get a man that is willing to marry me before then?" she said.

"But I have a plan," she added.

"And what's your plan?" Cia asked

"I will get a man. No man would be able to resist my price," she said

"It's not what I'm thinking, is it?" Cia said.

"Yes, it's what you are thinking. I would do anything not to marry that man. I'm gonna offer a contract marriage of convenience and I'll divorce this person after a year. I will blame my parents for the divorce, I will say...

"Because of their pressure I was forced into something that I wasn't ready for, now I'm left heartbroken. With that, they might leave me alone for a couple of years, hehe," she laughed to her mischievous plan.

"Alright. But be careful," Cia said

"What's to be careful about?. It's.time.to.go.husband.hunting," she said in a funny manner which made the other girls laugh. This was a side of her which only her friends were opportune to see. She was free to be herself with her friends, free to let her guard down. With them, was what she truly calls home.
