REMNANTS OF DIEGO

Apostle Aondofa Daniel lay on the bed after days surrounding his return from the hands of the enemies.

His thoughts wandered far on man's wickedness and God's awesomeness.

He ruminated over all the miraculous deliverance from bullets, demonic operations, DPO Ternege's encounter and the successful invasion and apprehension of Blaze which had brought about national healing.

Being grateful to God would be termed an understatement.

He slopped down his bed and spent much time worshiping and adoring the name of Jesus Christ.

When he was done, he fell on bed again, crossed his chest with his palms and relaxed back to sleep.

Suddenly, he was awakened with the thought of his diary. As if he was being chased by a propelling force, he crawled to his wardrobe and pulled it out, brought the diary and opened to the sketch.

It had been weeks away without it and he had missed the wife he envisioned.

He held it closely, traveling far and near, wondering when he was going to be married.

To say but the truth, loneliness was wearing on him despite the presence of his mother, Benjamin and others who were constantly coming for greetings.

The space he needed to fill was that of one he could call his wife.

"I think it's high time I check around for who to marry..." He ministered to himself.

As he looked closely, he was suddenly reminded of Diego and the address with picture he gave regarding his family.

At the moment, Apostle fully remembered him and became suddenly emotional.

The manner in which Diego had been killed hunted his soul.

He remembered his plead over his son.

Without wasting time, he rushed to the sitting room;

"Benjamin!" He called out and Benjamin came running to him.

"You look strange, what is the problem?" Mom asked worriedly.

"Mom, I just remember the leader of the kidnappers that kidnapped me. He was killed by his men during my hostage." he explained briefly.

"But that shouldn't be something that will bother you much." Mom said staring into his face expecting to hear something revealing.

"Yes Mommy." He answered and sat down to explain.

"His name is Diego. He gave his life to Jesus - I led him to Jesus and he indicated willingness for God before his men killed him to enable one of them take over leadership.

He (Diego) left me in the hands of Agnes whose only reason for kidnapping me was to have me sleep with her.

His men killed him to use me to collect ransom.

Before he died, he told me that he had a feeling he was going to die, then he handed over to me a paper containing the address to his family and a picture of his wife and son.

He was very much concerned about his son which he desired to serve God like me.

Now he is dead mommy. I want to go in search of his family." The Lord's Apostle submitted.

"Hmm, where did you keep the address and picture?" Mommy asked

"That's what is troubling me." He then turned to Benjamin who had been standing by waiting for him.

"Benjamin, where is the jacket I returned home with? Did you see something like that" He asked

"You didn't come back with jacket sir. What you returned with was a shirt and the trousers you wore which I have washed and ironed." Benjamin explained.

"O Jesus!" He screamed.

"Be calm son, try to remember where last you had it on your body. Maybe contacting DPO Ternege could help." Mommy counseled.

"Yes! That's it. I think it must have been where I was chained in Blaze's captivity.

Benjamin, bring me my phone." He instructed.

He called DPO Ternege and explained to him what the issue was.

"... O yes my Apostle. I picked the jacket. it was placed on your shoes which I knew belong to you.

I will call the military command in question to check the helicopter that conveyed us on the day of the operation. By the grace of God it will be found." DPO Ternege assured reviving hope.

The following day, he (DPO Ternege) was at the house of Apostle Aondofa Daniel with the jacket which contained the address and picture of the family of Diego.

The Lord's Apostle felt glad and asked if DPO Ternege would escort him to the place so they could see the son and the wife to which he was delighted to, and agreed.

It was in another state so they would have to go by flight.

DPO Ternege was going to make all required arrangements for the journey; the air service, since it involved the Kidnapping case, the hotel bookings, the operatives to be at alert incase anything happened and a lot others, but there was a better way to do it; Apostle Aondofa Daniel was going to sit back and allow him carry out the order.

DPO Ternege alerted security operatives in the region and an expository investigation was carried out.

It was found out that Diego's village was ikoture in one of the nation's states. He had not been legally married to his girlfriend monica who was in his local residence caring for his son whom he named Paul.

A devastating news came from the response team reporting back to DPO Ternege that Diego's wife had being murdered just days after the dead of her husband.

"How did it happen?" DPO Ternege asked.

"It was reported to us by the community that some gun men invaded during the night and tried taking the boy from her but she could be heard resisting and calling for help. That was when she was shut dead and the boy stolen away.

Nothing has been heard of them since

[APOSTLE AONDOFA DANIEL AND DPO TERNEGE]

"... DPO Ternege this is sad, extremely sad.

What on earth would have made them commit this sort of atrocities?" Apostle Aondofa Daniel asked.

"I suspect that those who did so whom I consider to be Tiger and Viper must have done so to train the boy." DPO Ternege stated.

"Train him?" The Lord's Apostle asked.

"Yes my Apostle.

It is obvious they didn't come for the woman but the son. it was her resistance that made them kill her.

I will ensure proper investigation and search is launched to make findings for the where about of the boy, trusting God that something will come out of it." DPO Ternege concluded.

"I do pray so, DPO Ternege." The Lord's Apostle said and stood to escort the already standing DPO who was ready to make his departure.
