The Main Day

After Ariel's things were packed up. She glanced at her room one more time before leaving. She was all teared up as her cheeks were stained with tears. Why was she crying? She didn't know the reason she became so emotional.

The servants gathered in the sitting room to bid their young mistress goodbye. Who knows if it'll be the last day they'll see her? Her parents on the other hand were feeling guilty. They embraced their daughter so tightly not letting her go.

The Queen was in pain, she couldn't bear to watch her beloved daughter leave her sight not to talk more of her departure. She hugged Ariel so tightly not letting her go.

The five days given to Ariel to make a decision were already up. It was now the time to leave Macbeth for Vallat. She was bothered by the kind of life she would face there in Vallat. Although she wished not to be locked up in her room as a prisoner because it was no different from what she was facing at the hands of her parents.

"Rebecca, we shouldn't keep the Prophetess waiting." King Lexis said trying not to feel emotional.

Queen Rebecca withdrew and let King Lexis hold onto Ariel. They turned to leave as she watched their backs until they disappeared from her sight. She was already missing her beloved Ariel now.

"Don't worry Ariel, the King of Vallat won't maltreat you and you need to be obedient okay..." The King said.

Ariel only nodded in response to what her father said. It was as if she had a grudge against him.

They both arrived at River of Valox where they were supposed to meet with the Prophetess but to their surprise, she wasn't there.

"Why isn't she here yet?" King Lexis groaned in frustration but Ariel did the opposite of his reaction. She was relaxed as if she wasn't bothered by her current predicament.

"We'll just have to wait for her then." Ariel walked past her father and climbed her horse.

King Lexis let out a deep sigh. He was somewhat angry because of the kind of attitude Ariel was giving to him. It wasn't his fault that he arranged a marriage for her.

They waited for a few minutes before the Prophetess finally arrived. She came with a carriage. From the look of it, one could tell that the carriage was for royalties and it has the Kingdom of Vallat's crest on it.

She came down from the carriage only to see the frustrated look on both the father's and daughter's faces. "I'm sorry I delayed in my arrival."

Before King Lexis could say anything, his gaze traveled down the Prophetess' body. To his surprise, she was covered in glittery golden scales. Ariel was also gazing at the same thing. Why was the Prophetess's body so alluring that they can't even resist?

The woman coughed to distract them. "Ahem! King Lexis you can go now. I'll take her to the Kingdom of Vallat. Be rest assured we won't pass through the River of Valox so as not to endanger her life." The Prophetess said and motioned him to leave so he left taking Ariel's horse with him.

"Nice outfit" Ariel couldn't ho but compliment the Prophetess's outfit. The woman looked more like a mermaid because of the scales. She was sometimes mistaken as the goddess of the sun because her golden hair matched the rays of the sun. What a beauty!

"Get inside the carriage." The Prophetess ordered, not sparing Ariel a glance.

Once they got inside the carriage. They took a different turn. They couldn't pass through the River of Valox because Ariel probably won't make it out alive and the King of Vallat would neither rejoice over it nor weep over the death of his soon-to-be wife.

There was silence between them. The only that could be heard was the galloping of the horses and the sound made by the coachman as he was whistling.

Ariel decided to break the silence with her questions. She wanted to make good use of the opportunity because there might be none next time. Taking a deep breath she proceeded with her questions.

"Do you have any supernatural ability aside from manipulating and possessing?" Although it wasn't the exact question that bothered her, she still wanted to ask. Luckily for her, the Prophetess spared her a glance.

"Girl, I'm also a murderer but that's not my supernatural ability because anyone can be a murderer." The Prophetess said trying to scare Ariel but the latter wasn't scared not even a bit instead she continued with her questions.

"How do you mean by anyone can be a murderer? What do you mean?" Ariel raised a brow, she was hoping not to offend the mysterious woman with her questions.

"One can be a murderer by choice."

Ariel gasped, that was not the answer she was expecting. Not asking any further she decided to remain silent.

"We've got just a few hours to arrive at the Kingdom of Vallat." The Prophetess said before shutting down her eyes.

Ariel glanced at the woman's beautiful and we'll sculptured face. She was the true definition of beauty. Ariel also shut her eyes closed to get some rest but it was almost impossible because the coachman keeps on stopping and the road was bad.

A few hours later, the carriage stopped once again and the Prophetess immediately opened her eyes.

"We've arrived."

They both came down from the carriage. Ariel was amazed to see how beautiful the castle was built. It was far bigger and better than the one she lived in in Macbeth.

The Prophetess and Ariel arrived at the entrance of the castle. Some guards blocked their way from entry until the Prophetess showed them the crest of Vallat. Ariel could tell that the place was heavily guarded. When they got inside the castle the Prophetess decided to leave first to inform the King about their arrival. Before Ariel could protest, she'd already disappeared.

"This place is huge. How can I possibly find my way in?" Ariel was in dilemma. Without wasting time she walked down inside the castle as if knowing where to go.
