Chapter-4

He looked surprised for a moment but soon he wasn't amused. He could understand how the unfair society worked. It wouldn't be strange if someone was murdered for being in a relationship before marriage. However, for males, it was another case.

"Officer, I need to go now… I…"

"I understand, I am Marc, by the way, feel free to call me Marc…" he said in an assuring voice. She wanted to have a chat with him but there was no time.

She hurried with her ravaged clothes, wishing not to get caught. To her surprise, She didn't get caught.

"Now, what to do with the clothes…?" She was sweaty, muddy, and wet all over. Her hair shuffled everywhere while cuts were apparent everywhere in her body. She was ignorant of what to lie about, how to lie, and how to take care of the mess? She tried to think about both pros and cons but unfortunately, she got no answers for both. She flinched at the sounds of the door opening. 'Extreme situations give Extreme Solutions' The phrase worked for her. She tore her dress and covered herself with her hands.

"Huh? Mistress?!" The two young men stood dumb while she shouted crazy. "I am sorry, Little fellows." She whispered, "You won't lose your job, but I may lose my life if I am found out." They both ran away, she could avoid their eyes on her soiled and wet body. She quickly ran into the never-ending hallway till she reached her personal room. She quickly went for a shower as the knocking sounds broke out. She was already in the middle of finishing, so she shouted to wait for a bit but the knocking sounds became more imminent. She didn't have any other choice but to open the door with a towel on. She hitched. It was rare for him to visit her but visiting in the morning? She remembered her dress was just hung in front! She came in front of his sight, he was startled and gulped.

"Ahem! You shouldn't open the door like this!" She surely didn't want to open it like this but it was his intense knocking that made her open the door. Even after years of their marriage, he was still easily embarrassed.

"What are you here for?" She asked as she wasn't sure what he wanted.

"Oh! Chris has returned… I thought you would be glad about the news also, Chris hasn't met you for so long…"

She slammed the door in his face. There was no time to waste! She is finally going to meet her life, her love, and her lovely little son after such a long time! She hurried as much as she could, forgetting all the worries that piled up a little while ago. She dressed up like the Luna of the tribe, all imposing, majestic and elegant. No one would ever think she was a soiled, sweaty girl just a moment ago, running in the hall here and there to save herself. She was calm now and she could figure out her forehead and cheeks were burning. Her eyes were bloody red. She was poised as she didn't want to destroy the elegant atmosphere by fainting in the middle. So, she remained calm in the middle which was shocking for everyone including her son, Chris.

He came running, breaking all the etiquettes, just like a son would do but she stopped him. She didn't want him to catch a cold from her. He is still so young. She couldn't predict that this action would cause a mess. The hall burned with the chirping of everyone. They all started to discuss and spread rumors. This was high society.

"Look… She is beginning to show her true colors now! How could she accept the heir position to go to someone other than her son? To an adopted child? Now that she is getting mature, she understands politics!"

"It's not her fault either… Which woman would want her children's property to go to an adopted bastard?"

"There is also no saying that the boy won't kick the mother out after what she had always done for him… Adopted bastards are not worth it!"

"If I had to choose between the adopted one and the biological one to support, I would choose the Biological one… Soon the Alpha will have his own children and will come to prefer him more!"

"You are right… Who would take the risk for an adopted child? And with how the Luna is behaving now, I think it's worthy to have trust in her!"

"Yeah… They both are young and they will soon have many children… Parent's love is eternal…"

All the rumors kept increasing. It gave her a headache, her face was pale and she was worried about what Chris would feel. She didn't want him to get hurt. However, with how her health was, she could not help it. It was true, 'Parent's love is Eternal.' She looked up at Chris, it was hard to figure out his emotions. He had become a lot more mature, difficult to figure out. She looked towards the door, in the expectation that Edgar would come to resolve it.

It took a while for Edgar to get the news. He came in his usual dignified and majestic manner. The hall became silent and everyone stood in their respective places.

"I was wondering… What were you guys having fun with? Huh? It was so loud!"

Everyone was silent. No one wanted to answer it when he was pissed off.

"I heard from the record some saying, 'Parent's Love is Eternal ' It's true! Remember it clearly! We are his parents! If we hear anything rude about him, we will make sure that you all will suffer! He will get his parent's, endless love!" After some silence, he again continued "Are you all waiting for me to say The party is Finished?!" The party ended in a mess while she couldn't say anything. She could faint anytime now. She got up from her seat so as not to faint in the middle of the hall. Sadly, she was going to leave without giving a warm welcome to the little one but…
