Chapter-3

Her breathing became unstable, she huffed as she ran as fast as she could, her clothes wet, ragged, and soiled. She didn't want to get caught by the guards before she got out of the territory. She was afraid because she knew the fact very well that if she had been caught her life would become. The rules were strict and showed no mercy to even a little fellow.

"Mi-mi-ster" she gasped and called out to the officers after she reached her destination, the Police Station. The officers were shocked to see a female reaching out to them this late. They were afraid, it was one of those sinful cases, seeing her attire. They gave her a seat and a glass of water to drink. She gulped it down quickly as she stated her business.

"Reid… the kidnapped boy…" She was still panting but the clock kept ticking and there was no moment to lose.

"Are you Miss. Shea?" The familiar voice from the morning call rang in her ear. And she nodded. "I thought, you changed your decision…" She shook her head and slowly said, "I just had other work to do…" He nodded and showed her towards a room. The females were working there. "You should first clear up, I will take out the car first!"

"Oops! Sorry, I don't have much time. Can I see him?" The police looked her up and down at first but as if he could figure out her position, he didn't bother to ask her anything and showed her the way to the car.

It didn't take a long time to reach the City Hospital. She hurried down with a pale face. The morning light was shining in the area. It would soon be the time for everyone to wake up. Her breath was rough and she kept fiddling with her fingers.

"This is the room…" Ward no:- 302. It was his residence these days. She placed her hand on the misty glass, he was reading a book. He was still looking at the same book, five years ago, giving her sudoku to solve and laughing, enjoying all the cherished time which had been stained overages. All those memories returned to her heart. She was suddenly feeling so lonely like she never felt before.

There was a strange pain in her heart. It felt miserable to her. She opened the door and a smile crept on his face as soon as he saw her. She could sympathize with him.

"You are here! I was waiting for eternity! They told me, you wouldn't come anymore, but I knew that you would never lie!" He was still so childish, pouting and throwing little tantrums.

"I am sorry, okay?" She went towards him and patted him, making sure not to soil him.

"Ha? How come you are drenched in mud and water?" He asked worriedly. She should be worried about him but here he is, worrying about her! She pulled his ears lightly, "You should take proper care of yourself, how did you get in this mess" the next moment, she felt sorry as the current him is unaware of everything.

"Say, Auntie and uncle didn't let you come to me, right?"

Oh yeah! How could she forget that they were so much against their relationship! She knows why but… she can't help but suspect that they are involved in his Kidnapping. As her thoughts drowned herself in, the officer's eyes saw through me.

"Maybe, you have a suspect, Miss?" He didn't bother to hide his suspicions. She rejected the idea immediately and added, "How could something like this occur to him?" Reid blinked his eyes confused. He was only told that he had a car accident, for his stability. "You should rest now, you need to rest more yet you didn't rest at all today because of me…" She turned back but a tight grasp fell in her hand making her flinch. "No Goodbye kisses for me?" His eyes shined while red marks formed in her hand, all designed with his veins. She didn't know what to do. She neither wanted to kiss him nor could she push a patient. "Umm… Reid" She tried to make her way through it but his grasp only tightened more.

"Miss. Shea…" the officer who had already been waiting outside for her, returned inside. "I…" She quickly got out of his grasp and went out. Her heart was beating so fast but she didn't realize why. For being so close to him? Afraid? or She still loved him…? She would never agree with 'feeling of love'.

"Are you okay? I am so sorry that you had to face that…" the officer apologized. "It must be hard for a married female to be touched by another male than her mate?" She looked at him weirdly before finally grasping what he meant. It could have been a topic to misunderstand but understanding his responsibility, she felt he wasn't discriminating against females but was rather asking her honestly if she was okay or not with his touch since being already married. She shook her head, it was fine. It was just a small touch but rather she was quite thankful to him. No matter what, She didn't want to do something like get close to another man or cheat on her husband. It was an awful thing to do. She placed her hand on her heart, it was still beating rapidly. She wished whatever feelings she may have remained in her heart.

"Miss. Shea…" She gulped and looked at him. "Yes, officer?" She knew what he was going to ask and say but she pretended not to know.

"I need your cooperation, Can you tell me if your family has any issues…" She interrupted and directly replied no! "My family never had any hatred or issues! They even loved Reid, it was just after my Mate was found… They wanted us to stop the relationship… Nothing more than that…'' She gave a gentle smile, probably to make it more believable.

The officer thought for a bit and then hesitantly asked, "What about your mate?" She had no words, her throat dried, She didn't know what to say. She didn't know him much but she knew very well how cruel he is.

"Miss Shea…?" She shook her head and replied truthfully, "He is unaware of my past…"
