Chapter-2

Her pace got faster. It would be troublesome if she gets noticed. She didn't want any relationship problems between them because of the harmful rumors, it may spread.

"Mistress, do you need any help?" The strong-built guard spoke up blocking Shea's way.

The breeze flowed through her hair and smudged the Misty Road in front of her eyes. The lights could be seen amidst the mist. The weather wasn't particularly bad but it would be an issue if she had said, 'I am going to have a walk', in this weather!

"Brother…" trying to build trust, she patted his shoulder while he looked at her awkwardly.

"Mistress… I don't deserve this…" he said while brushing her hand off him with a pale face.

My lips dried up, and my ears got red. Chills ran down all over me as the clock kept ticking.

"Hey, brother! Please help me- - -" She continued bothering him. He clearly showed his dissatisfaction with his smug face.

"Mistress, Master would be back in some time. He surely wouldn't like you behaving like this, it's also for your safety that you shouldn't go out alone." He said while scratching his neck and a fixed gaze on me to show his Suspicions. She wasn't aware when was the last time she was being childish.

"Of course! I will take care of myself!" She assured him but a shocked and fearful expression formed on his face.

"Mas…master…"

"What are you doing here?" Her heart skipped a bit like the drum's beat while her blood ran cold. She didn't need to turn her head back as it was easy to figure out that the husky and dominating voice can only belong to Edgar, her Alpha. She fidget as she turned over and kept fiddling with her fingers.

His face didn't hold out any disgust and dissatisfaction. He was strict with his rules. "What are you doing here?" His cold voice again flowed while the guard kept signaling me, to tell the truth.

"Edgar… it has been a long time since I visited my family… Can I go alone?" She didn't want scratches to be on her body the next day. The title of Luna was a burden to her while Edgar just wanted a perfect Luna for the tribe. Sometimes, his outbursts would be too violent for her to handle. She begged, "Please…" It had been a long time since I last visited my tribe, my family." He frowned while looking at his watch. "It's late today…" he gaped a bit and continued, "You broke two rules today!"

She turned back to watch the time, it was already the curfew time!

"Umm… I…" sorry doesn't mean anything to him, he only cares about the result though it's still her last resort to lessen her punishment.

"Have dinner and kneel in the ancestral hall after that." He passed through me while opening his tie. She followed him and took the tie from him. She was quite happy with the punishment as she maybe can carry out her plan if she is careful enough. She picked up the used clothes beside the glass washroom and waited for him to come out to hand him his nightwear. The shower sound soon stopped and he came out wearing a bathrobe. He held out his hand towards me and she handed him the clothes. It was a common and daily thing to do. He is a lot busy with his work, after all!

"Let's go for dinner" he replied while changing.

"Okay… I will ask the servants to…"

"I want some peace!" He shouted frustrated.

Edgar never liked people near him especially, during his rest and dinner time. So, she had to get accustomed to the housework. Remembering her past, it was such an awful time and mess.

Treated like a princess all her life, it was hard for her to get used to working that her servants did for her. It also wasn't strange for her to get kicked out of the bed and sometimes even the room after her marriage.

Today was no exception since he didn't ask her to kneel for a certain period of time, it meant she had to kneel till morning.

On other days, she would be quite frustrated but it worked out with her plan today.

"What are you thinking about?" He got her out of her world and she understood that there was no time to waste. She hastened up till she felt the light breeze from the balcony. The drizzling sounds of raindrops echoed inside her. It had been a long time since she could enjoy her alone peaceful time. Five years ago, she was still trying to run and dance with Reid in the rain. 'Wouldn't it be good if our married life was true, not just in name?' She had this thought. She clenched her hand. "How could I think like this?" She cursed herself. She couldn't understand if the little woman who craved love was still alive inside her. She wished to enjoy the rain but the rules didn't agree with her. She swallowed her desires again and again. It was the same this time. It was a shame that she had to go into the sweaty kitchen to prepare dinner.

The hall was quiet as always, with no romantic chit-chats. He put his spoon down, "I am done!" There was still so much food left.

"You should rest now, I will take care of the dishes" She said gently and he nodded back. She saw him going away and away until he reached the door, turned over, and reminded her, "Punishment…" he didn't bother to wait for her reply, She sighed and got up from her seat. She took his plate and ate the leftovers. She didn't want to waste any food. She believed it was a sinful thing to do. After she finished, she washed the dishes and went to the ancestral hall.

"Mistress…" there were the two guards who safeguarded the place. She was unaware of what they thought of her as they knew how many times she got punished for breaking the rules as well as how many times she got kicked out of the room. They looked normal with pity faces hanging. She almost let out a chuckle but I succeeded in remaining aloof. They opened the door for her. And, she went inside and knelt in front of the memorials. It didn't take her a long time to locate her secret passage. It led directly outside. She found this passage by accident while she was wandering around during her punishment time. At that time, it didn't lead outside but she dug it up to sneak out. It was one thing that she was proud of as she could finally use it.
