Chapter 12 Wedding night

When it was time for Yan Mei's parents to leave, her mother asked her to walk them outside.

"Don't forget what I told you. Make sure that you bear him a child as soon as possible okay?" she asked and she nodded.

Afterwards, they bid her farewell, leaving her in her in laws' house.

As she was still standing outside, she heard Zhang Wei's voice calling," Sister in law."

On turning to look at her, she asked," What are you doing here?"

"I thought to get some fresh air," she replied. "But it's windy outside," she said and added," Let us go inside or else you might catch a cold."

At the words, she nodded and followed her inside.

Placing her hand on her shoulder, Zhang Wei said," I understand that you might be uncomfortable but you shouldn't be. We all love you here and my brother will take good care of you. He will never do anything to hurt you."

"Thank you," she replied and they reached the living room.

They found Zhang Yu and Chairman Zhang having a conversation and on seeing them, Zhang Yu stood up and approached her then asked," Are you okay?" She nodded at the question and he looked at his grandfather then said," I think we should also get going."

"Oh, I had forgotten that it is your wedding night. I can clearly tell that you are impatient."

Zhang Yu just shook his head at the words while Yan Mei blushed and got worried at the same time. The former didn't bother to retort to his grandfather's teasing and he instead looked at Yan Mei then said," Let us go." Chairman Zhang then asked," Are you planning on taking my grand daughter in law before she bids farewell to me?"

Yan Mei walked to the old man and sat besides him then said," Chairman Zhan-"

"You should call me grandpa now. We are family," he interrupted her before she could go any further.

"Okay. Grandpa, thank you for hosting us. We really enjoyed the food."

"You don't have to thank me because this is your house. Listen, I know that we have just met but you should be free with me. And if Zhang Yu troubles you in any way, just tell me and I will deal with him," he said and she lightly laughed as she nodded.

"Give me your number," he said getting his phone and she read her digits to him.

As the two were still talking, Zhang Wei walked closer to her brother and she said," I have a surprise waiting for the both of you at your home."

"What is that?" he asked. "You will thank me when you see it," she said smiling and he quickly glanced at Yan Mei before saying," I hope it is nothing that will cause trouble. Listen, you have to be careful not to mention anything about me meeting my wife the past one year."

"But why? I thought it will help you two get closer," she said. "No. I don't want her to know about it yet," he said and later, she replied," Okay."

The ride to their home was silent as Zhang Yu was driving and Yan Mei was looking outside the window. She couldn't believe that the Zhangs would be this humble. She really felt comfortable being with them.

As time went by, she became more and more nervous about the wedding night. She very well knew that marriage came with responsibilities. Giving him one glance, she wondered if he was going to be gentle with her. She had heard stories from her friends of how the first time was painful.

The car finally pulled over in front of a large house and he got out before rushing to her side and opened for her.

"Thank you," she said as she got out.

He then got her two suitcases and said," Let's go."

Following behind him, they got inside the house and she noticed that it was pretty big.

Looking at her, he said," The housekeeper sleeps in the servant's quarters, at the back of the house."

She nodded and he added," We can hire more if you want." "Alright," she said looking around the place. "Uh, I think we should go to the bedroom as it is late," he suggested.

"Sure," she replied and he dragged her luggage as she came following behind him.

Reaching the bedroom, Yan Mei was awed by the decorations. Red roses and balloons filled the room. Some were attached to the ceiling and were hanging in the air.

Scented candles were placed all over the room, giving it a romantic vibe.

Turning to look at her, he noticed that she was glancing at everything and he said," My sister is the one who did this." Nodding her head, she said," It is nice."

Realizing that she was calm, he went to put her suitcases in the closet and on coming back, he said," There is the bathroom."

"I will go and have a bath somewhere else," he added and walked back to the closet.

Picking the clothes he was going to change into, he left her in the room.

Yan Mei took a deep breath and she walked around the huge bedroom, where she was going to start sleeping. The nervousness inside of her had bubbled up after seeing the way the room was decorated.

She then walked to her suitcases and got the essentials she will need before going to the bathroom.

Reaching, she found that the entire bathroom was decorated too.

Lisa drove her car towards the parking lot before coming out. Walking to the elevator, she came off at fourth floor and walked towards Yan Peng's unit.

Reaching the door, she pressed in the pass code before the door opened and she walked in. But the moment she stepped inside, she was pinned against the closed door and Yan Peng captured her lips with his in a savage kiss.

When he later pulled away, she pushed him off her and she walked towards the couch then said," You said you had something important to talk about. I'm in a hurry."

Going to sit besides her, he traced his fingers along her bare neck and whispered," Come on. You're going to spend the night here."

She removed his hands from her neck and she said," What did you want to talk about?!"
